    Kid Rock Cruise 2012

So ready to do this, heading into fall waiting for spring! Lookig so foward to this cruise, many reasons why. For us (my lovely bride) and I are treating this as a wild honeymoon with our very good friends. We have seen Kid Rock twice this year and are hoping for a third show. We both are looking foward to metting Bobbie, since my wife's family is from the Detroit area, and the lake house is a stones throw away from him. I really want to get some advise from others who have done this cruise, on things you for got to take on your cruise that would of made it even better? I know they do dress up theme night and this should be a hell of a hoot!

But please tell me what you forgot, and thing we should pack for even a better time. Thank looking foward to meeting new friends and rock'in with the Kid!

Too funny I spent almost 4 years at sea aboard the USS SARATOGA, and am asking for help and ideas. But truly, these are things in which I would have forgotten. Never have gotten to go on a pleasure cruise without bombing the hell out of so country. I just want to make sure this will be a time of our life for my wife and myself! We are seeing Kid Rock for the third show this year in November in Silver Springs. We're Kid Rock Crazy for a good time! Please keep good ideas coming to help us as well as others for the first timers! Oh yea, "Keep the change" Jr. LOL

Cowboy hat, flip flops, good sunglasses and sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen.

yes, chap stick with SPF.... my lips almost blistered this year and I did wear a hat a few times! Sunglasses are good because the sun off of the water and all the white/shiny parts of the boat can get pretty bright!

hey Katie nice add-ons--I just thought of a couple more must haves A HAT!! anything to keep that sun off your face people-lip balm / chap stick and flip-flops seemed to be the most comfortable and sensible shoes for me..I had a couple more but can't seem to remember them now--Damn me for not writing it down right away anyway I noticed i typed fri when I meant to type fyi-- well, until next time ya all

great tips Tammyray..... I will add a couple of things to that list though! The first year we had no idea what time it was ever and if you're in an interior room you can't look out the window to get perspective. Take a small alarm clock so that you can have it wake you up (the wake up calls are pretty reliabile but not the greatest!)..... Take 5 hour energy with you, don't want to miss too much by sleeping. There are things going on all day and night. We slept 16 hours tops on the boat this year. Also make sure you take sunscreen even if you have a good tan because the sun is different and you WILL burn! You are also allowed to bring water and pop, enough for personal consumption. I took water this year because the bottled water on the ship is very expensive. The first year I and many others ended up getting very swollen on the way home from lack of hydration. Also, the rooms don't have any plugs so if you have a lot of things to plug in you may want to take a surge protector.

Don't overpack clothing.... the boat is extremely casual (even the dining rooms). They just ask that you don't wear your bathing suit in there. Bring lots of bathing suits because that is what you spend most of your time in. You are going to have the time of your life, I promise!

If you are on Facebook there are several groups relating to the cruise where we all interact and have gotten to know each other very well. It's so much fun to meet people on the boat that you have chatted with on Facebook for a long time.

theres at least two helpful lists on a sixthman post- One I wrote and one from a past cruiser..for sure don't forget to bring and APPLY sunscreen-saw a lot of sore red cruisers-our walkie talkies didn't work so well but had a lot of fun talking with others on the same channel..if you dont have a balcony, rooms can get a little stuffy so a lilltle fan might come in handy..you really dont need much for the cruise its self-- bathing suit, sunscreen, sunglasses, theme outfits, wind breaker / sweatshirt for those windy nights on the lido deck, a camera, and a sharpie (as long as you're low key, quick and respectful, artist don't mind signing stuff for you) somewhere someone suggested a poster carrier, I thought that was a great idea..This year i'm bringing my water bottle for ice / iced tea (the ships plastic glasses are small and have no lid) if you are prone to being sea sick dont forget to bring/wear those sea sick patches..and fri to all crusisers we have our own category (all things cruise related) to post discussions..That's all I can think of for now-like I said check out sixthmans KR chillin the most website..somewhere on there there is a more detrailed list--

You can bring one bottle of wine or champagne in your carry-on; if you put in your luggage, they'll take it -- but, you get it back in the early evening of the last night of the cruise. So, technically, that's two bottles per person!! ; }~

If you want to keep in contact while on the ship, without racking up charges on your cell phone, use walkie talkies.

You guys are gonna have one of the best times -- ever!!

One way or another I will be on the cruise... yes I will.
