Summer event season is in full swing in the Quad City area. And as the events go on, so does severe weather.
Event organizers must plan for any possible weather conditions. Burlington Steamboat Days President and Des Moines County Sheriff, Mike Johnson, said organizers run through exercises with emergency management crews.
"We think of all possible scenarios that could happen at Steamboat Days," he said.
The
this gig in washington is downtown and the hotels im finding sound abit scary, does anyone know this area in spokane at all?
Denver is really high elevation above sea level----so You may feel tired----my Sister lives out there---and Good God!!!!!! all i wanted to do was sleep---it took me 3 days to get used to the thin air----be prepared for that---
thanks for the info, its washington state so in the space of 3 weeks im goin from LA to denver back to LA to san fran then to washington back to san fran then vegas for a week, and maybe another trip once another band i expect announces a show, this is what i do for bands when they tour aus alot, born free at least for a few more years haha, doubt il end up in detroit this time then, the mate im going with dosent like kid rock so im just flying out to 2 shows by myself for a few nights, its sooo lucky im even seeing these shows, i would love to see more of washington and denver but il only be there for the day of the show
And if You decide to go to Detroit :-) i was born (in Detriot) and raised just outside of the City limits---and i'm still here--41 years later---lol
i seriously would advise that You go with someone who is familiar with the city though---You don't want to wind up in Herman Gardens---or on the scenic Grand River or 8 Mile (East of the Southfield) tour---
Downtown---You are perfectly okay :-)
Washington State? Or Washington D.C.? D.C.---be scared--lol :-)
Washington State and Denver -----You'll be fine :-)
Watch out for the "tree huggers" lol :-) that's about it---that is a BEAUTIFUL part of America---You'll see what i mean when You arrive :-)
Welcome :-) my Aussie Friend :-)
thanks guys, i did join the fan club a few days ago and got tix at 3 and 4 am aus time tday for denver and washington, making extra trips for those 2 gigs and i fly home on the 18th, if he does announce a show and it fits in nicely i would have to think about it for sure, i dont really know much about detroit but apparently alot of america can be dangerous, actually is there anything or any part of washington or denver i should be carefull of? only thing i know about detroit is a few of my fave bands are from there and u guys somehow beat us ( the cowboys) last week, dont hate me for that haha, they were the 1st team i herd of when i was a kid in australia so started following them
Seen the tour schedule but nothing in Michigan, whats up with that?
Haydenc, I suggest you try to pick up some tixs for his Detroit shows. They are unbelievable, and I know the concerts are very special in every other city and country, but it cannot be denied his shows in Detroit are personal. You might be scared of the D from it's reputation, but it is rebuilding. The Detroit shows have not been announced yet, but they are special. I would consider it. I have heard thru the local media, they will probably be at the Fillmore or Fox or both, they are both great places to see a concert, been to both for concerts and never had a problem. Both have websites. Definitely take Becky's advise and join the fan club. I don't know what your perceptions are of Detroit, but something is changing here and Kid Rock, Bob Seger, Aretha, Motown, and music in general added to the changing attitude here. He will be ending the club tour here in his home state. Warning however, our weather sucks in late November and early December, usually bone chilling rain.
HAYDENC- It is a really good idea to join the fan club. I have been a fan for YEARS and just found out about the fan club earlier this year. I bought my tickets to see KID ROCK at Comerica Park in Detroit on PRESALE ( for fan club members only) with no problems. It's worth paying to join the club, so you can get access to the tickets before the general public. Good Luck!
WOOTWOOT Got my tickets to the Indy show @ the Egyptian Room on November 22!~! CAN'T WAIT!!! Thanks to the fanclub for letting us get a chance to get a seat!! LOVE YOU KIDROCK!!!
and yes i did spell kid wrong haha, stupid computer
hey, im from australia and probly the biggest kdi rock fan here and im coming to the states for 3 weeks from the end of november so this tour mite work out perfect, never seen him before and have always wanted to since i herd the devil without a cause album, any tips on geting tix to a show would be great? joing this fanclub or anything? il be in LA for 3 weeks but will fly to anywhere i get tix to if need be
I saw a guy scalping Tiger tix last night-same guy who was selling Kid tix in Aug and January.-how the hell does he get seats to everything? hate scalpers
I just love KR fans!! Y'all are the best!
I have yet to be able to score a spot on the cruise though :( I know that is the ultimate of all Kid experiences and I cannot wait for the day that I finally get to go (Sorry I know that was totally off the subject, ha ha)
I really hope they release the tix to the KRC first to give us all a chance at the best seats. If he is doing a big one Detroit I may just have to hop on a plane. I am dying to try the Bad Ass Beer too!
I heard Twelve show and than 1 big 1 in the D....come here kitty kitty
And let's face it, promoters, radio stations, and whoever else gets 'comp' tickets have the ability to sell the best tickets for the most money in this sucky economy-ethics aside--who can blame them for being tempted to get a few bucks for a hot ticket when they could use the few bucks? Not saying it is right; saying that the means, opportunity, and motive are all there.
I see what you are saying RSMS..and every artist battles it. Maybe drop premium tix at different times so no complete fix on the tix? I don't know the answer.
I will tell you the Seger drops his premium tix via TM at different times, and I scored front row for EMU,
face value, for the first time in a long time.
Val thought about that also, but the brokers would just buy the membership and flood it. The weasels would win, and I don't care If they are legal. They are legal but not ethical and we all know legal and ethics don't mesh. I honestly think I may buy up all the flourescent light bulbs in the nation. since they will be replaced soon by the twirly bulbs and resell them on Ebay or Stub Hub, bad analogy I know, but I see the handwriting on the wall until these stubhubs, and all this 'legal scalping' is addressed the true fan that cannot afford top dollar for tickets will not be able to attend. Sorry, just have strong opinions about this.
If that were only possible...maybe...dunno? That would be fricken awesome though!
Hey, wouldn't it be great if ALL of the tickets were first released to the KRC for a certain time period, then anything left over open to the public?? HMMMM... :) ; )
I think you are definitely right on the Orlando Calling being the kickoff of the tour. I guess we all just sit and wait now for all the details. Best of Luck to all of you (and me) getting those tickets when they go on sale
I think the kickoff will be the 'Orlando Calling' gig...then shows from there..
Probably nice for them to get to play some smaller venues..I think it will be stripped down, but what do I know..I saw some footage from the Jim Beam gig in Flint, and it was loud and crowded...I don't think they will want to repeat that kind of thing..maybe we are looking at limited tickets with contests for more KRC members to go.
It will be a goat rodeo trying to get tkts, he will do his best but the brokers and scalpers know the system, hopefully we aren't screwed but we probably are. Oh well.g
That's what I'm nervous about...getting tickets. When he can sell out 40,000 plus how will he control the frenzy to get only 1,500 or so seats? I can't and won't pay the outrageous scalpers. Just waiting to see how he'll handle it. I know he does his best for the fans...maybe he'll play multiple nights???
It's going to be very interesting to see the venues are announced. It says he will start in the South in Mid-November, so by that I am hoping he means down my way (SC?) or any of the states that border us. I wonder when he will announce all the details? I am also nervous about getting tickets to the shows too in these smaller places. If I don't get in to see my Kid, I begin hyperventilating, =)
I was thinking that too, Niki..maybe it will be a different kind of show--more laid back, stripped down..who knows. It also sounded like he was going to ask his musician connections in the areas where he will be playing to join him here and there if they so choose..neat!
Is it just me or do you other KR fans think it's going to be strange seeing Kid perform at a place like the Fillmore. I am from SC but I researched the venue online and it looks like it couldn't handle Kid or his fans, LOL. You know b/c when I think of a Kid concert I think of jumping around, lasers, fire, the works.....I love me some Kid I just wonder what kind of show he would put on in a venue like that? What do y'all think?
I would love to see him just sit and play his guitar like an "unplugged" concert.
Don't know if The Fox can take it---went to see Lady A there and the whole balcony was swaying-scared me to death. Thought that sucker was going to collapse.
How exciting. I may not make it to the upcoming concert; but I will definitely get my DVD when it comes out before Christmas (maybe I'll buy two!) That way I can get my Kid Rock fix whenever I pop it into the blu ray player!
