    Fans Upset About Ford Field Tickets And What Not......

    I am a musician. I did not attend college and barley made it out of high school. I try my hardest to keep my ticket prices low, THIS I HAVE CONTROL OF.!! I can not control nor do i understand how the fuck the scalpers and all the secondary websites and bullshit get them. IF I COULD CONFRONT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM FACE TO FACE I WOULD AND IT WOULD NOT WORK OUT TO WELL FOR THEM I GAURANTEE ALL OF YOU. I hate them, i feel like someone is beating up a close friend or family member while im chained to a chair. I try to understand it, i try to ask my managers and people in the buisness i know to help me understand it, but it seems they dont either. The only way i know right now to stop it is to not buy from these people or wait till the last minute when there scared they cant sell em and have to sell them cheap. I am not gonna apologize for something i cant control and it you wanna hate or blame me for it, go for it. But if your really pissed about it, research it and try to find out why its going on and let me know. alot of us are trying to figure out a better way, trust me, the last thing i want is some bottom of the barrel lazy fuck who wont get a real job ripping off my fans to get rich. And no, this post was not consulted w my mangers or publicist, they would probly say not to post it, but thats not how i do things. This is right from my computer to yours. I hope it helps to understand at least how i feel about people trying to get tickets in my fan club or any other way that turns out to be a let down, THAT IS NOT MY INTENTION OR WHY I GOT INTO MUSIC AT ALL. Maybe i should shut down the fan club, because i dont want anyone to think im screwing them and i cant keep the "bottom feeders" from joining it, YET! I try to think of better ways to do things all the time, especially for the fans, but my main focus is always my son and then writing good songs, without those two things, nothing is happening. I will keep my mind spinning trying to figure out a better way to get good tickets to my true fans, and it brings to mind a new song on the new cd "the least that i can do is care" unfortunatley thats not gonna be enuff in this case. trust me im on top of this and doing what i can. thx

The tickets are just too damn high. My first show was ZZ Top and the ticket was $12. I was in the 6th grade and it changed my life forever. Now the service fee is $12. There is a reason for the way things are and it's called greed. It is all too damn high. The tickets, shirts, beer, parking... So tomorrow I'm gonna shell out no more than ticketmaster makes me for 2 tickets. I'm an old school Kid Rock fan that doesn't even care for the new cd. I still respect Rock for it and bought mine in the store instead of stealing it online. I'm just hoping that in Greensboro, NC on Feb. 22nd Rock comes out old school! That is if I can get tickets.

Couldn't really make out much of what Hoosier was trying to say... However please realize that even ticketmaster practices price gouging. Charging up to fifteen dollars per ticket for convenience fees not including prices to make an e ticket? Come on. And that's not including the percent they take before the proceeds go back to the artist/label. Everybody is getting a piece of Kid Rock's money...Kid gets to keep what's left. Three options to stop scalping as I see it: 1. Offer tickets at market value, pissing off fans since a lot of people are willing to pay a lot of money for tickets. 2. Actually have more concerts. Garth Brooks method. He had so many shows it drove the supply up and tickets are reselling for approx. face value except for the seats right by the stage. 3. Arrange a system which requires will call or the ID or credit card of the purchaser for entry into the venue (which will cost a ton and leave a lot of empty seats due to the non-transfer nature of these tickets.) Which sounds best to you?

danielboy sounds like a 180 to me! dude this is about keeping ticket prices low, not makin the money when you don't have the talent. the kid should be the only one makin all the extra money! don't you think he would like to get more! he takes a beating on a ticket because he knows greedy fucks like you are everywhere! it's his sweat that brings the fan there and no talent fucks like you doubling and tripling ticket prices fucks it all up!

I'am try'n to get tickets and I was planning on drive in from Annapolis, Md and take in the show and hang out with family. But was unable to score two of them, Hell ya I'd love to see the show, but am not going to feed the bottom feeders, I hate to wait but you have the best idea for sure! Hell I have enter for the trip, I'd freak out to win that shit, I'd be cheese'n for sure! But if all that does work out, I'll have to wait till you swing thur, I'd love to see you play at "peir 6" in Baltimore what a place for a show. Small but personnel. My two over the tops would be on the frount row at peir 6 for a show and hang out for a day in Clarkston and knock a few down, I've been to the bottom and I got to say thanks! Your words saved me from a 9mm and a bad bitch, "Run off to LA" showed me how to say truely "Fuck It" I can control everything around me. Same shit here for sure! Please keep this open for your true fans, and I do hope you get a chance to read this post cos if all this doesn't work out the way I wish then you'll know me when you hit this area, cos I will be holding a sign to say thanks to you! B2R, just because I make money selling tickets does not mean I don't give to charity, etc. I actually gave away a ticket to a mother and a child with a developmental disorder because my ticket could get them into a section with handicapped seating. However I have no problem selling a ticket to someone who wants to pay for it, even if it is for more than what I bought it. Heard of car dealerships selling cars for more than what they bought them for? Pawn shops selling items for twice what they paid? Let's take them down too! In fact let's try to outlaw any business who is operating to make a profit. Or maybe lobby your elected representative to pass stricter laws on ticket brokering.

Just bought tix for a show today which I have thrown on stubhub for more than twice face value. I'm not depriving people of food or shelter or frankly anything important through my price gouging. I have been doing this for years for play money and see no reason in stopping. An easy way to make a few thousand bucks a year as long as you know what you are doing. The "true fans" - whatever that means are going to be at the show in the end anyway whether they buy through ticketmaster or me. By the way, if it weren't for me people would have NO chance at going to shows unless they were able to get on ticketmaster the exact second the tix went on sale and were lucky enough to actually get tickets then. With today's system people can shell out a few extra bucks to have their choice of seats at a time of their choosing. Get over it or shell out.

I am very glad to see that there is a performer who cares about his fans getting ripped off. Maybe you could set up your own ticket sale company and as the tickets are sold names are assigned to them like travel tickets. I know there radio stations that buy and that could be worked out. I live just outside of Romeo and know what it is like here in Michigan. You could arrange to give the venue a % of the ticket sales and also maybe be able to give some people some jobs. I agree that it is a shame that people come in and buy lumps of tickets so the only way someone can go is to pay extra.

Go Kid!!! So glad to see an artist cares enough to speak out about scalping! I have been complaining about this forever , especially cause there is such an easy solution! All the ticket office has to do insist on proof of identity, when you purchase a ticket whoevers name is used to purchase must be at the gate with their matching ticket and their group of people (say no more then 4 ticket purchases allowed). Vegas does it that way! Seems to be working out really well for them!

To Scalper: I read through pages of posts just to find yours because people were so pissed off about them. How dare you justify what you do by saying you are trying to achieve success like Kid Rock? Do you realize how long it takes a singer to make it big? Do you realize how long they live off next to no income? Do you also realize how much money he donates to excellent causes? Further, did you know that a lot of his high dollar ticket sales profits get donated? NO, all you care about it making money off of somebody else's success. It's one thing to buy something some one else didn't want and then re-sell it but you are being greedy and taking advantage of opportunities that are out there for all fans and not for economic gain! I hope he does email you and I hope he gives you a piece of his mind and kicks your ass out of the fan club, if indeed you are a member. People like you make me sick by justifying (in your own mind) what you do by saying your trying to do what he is doing. To criticize him for making money off of clothing and what not, I've never seen a fan club as inexpensive as his nor have I seen ticket prices as reasonable directly from the performer. Just because you have your 5 year degree doesn't make you smart. It just makes you pompous, conceited, and arrogant and doesn't give you the right to criticize someone else for your cheap ass get rich quick scheme!!!

Who cares if there are typos??? Your message was so damned awesome and powerful and I appreciated every word of it -- typos & all -- and I'm a secretary who is anal about catching typos and grammatical errors but i could've cared less. What mattered to me is that you took the time to personally read what we, your fans, were writing, to respond to us personally, and to not run it through the people who would've made you tone it down or change it all together! Thanks for being YOU....that's why I'm still a fan!!! By the way, what an accomplishment to be played on radio stations with different genres! Your music has crossed over and is on the hard rock stations, the country stations, the top 40 stations, and even some of your music is on the easy listening stations! Really cannot do much about what goes on once you put the tickets out there. Good that you keep them at a low price, not like some of these other bands, who think their names deserve big bucks. Don't beat yourself up over it, there is only so much one person can do. If you listen to your song "Care" it puts into perspective what really is important, and not getting tickets would not be on the top list of problems we have in this world. If people get upset, well they get upset. I wish I had such problems to worry about. Tell you what I saw you this summer in Soldier Field, and in my opinion I think you actually should charge more for your tickets. Your talent exceeds many of the bands out there charging much higher prices. But being real is what you are. I am glad you are coming back to my hometown Chicago, we are great fans. You won't hear us crying over not getting tickets. Where there is a will there is a way.

Ticketmaster should put the name of who is buying the ticket right on the ticket and you should have to show proof to get into the show. That would definately stop all the scalpers.

ok, so you know, I am not that guy trying to scalp tickets to make money. I love Kid Rock... have since he started. I graduated from Romeo in 88.... I had a few cocktails on Thanksgiving and the day after and purchased 3 tickets for myself, my husband, and a friend... and well, I spent $536. on them. My fault, it was what is available... but, since I now live in Idaho, I realize I may have a hard time getting back to Detroit, as much as I would like to, kind of spendy...so, if anyone is interested in purchasing them, I am willing to take a loss at this point and chalk it up as a lesson learned..... no guns or credit cards come out after drinking :o) Please, if you are interested, make me an offer sfairchild1970@hotmail.com or, Bobby Ritchie, if you want to fly me there from Idaho on your personal jet, I would still love to come :o)

The brokers (legal scalpers) are big business and since they pay taxes, the government won't do anything about it until a large group with influence presses the issue. (hint, ask your lawyers about the laws) How do the scalpers get these blocks of tickets and we, the lowly public don't have a chance of getting just one ticket? It's because they have pre-sales for the brokers. You can go and buy tickets through brokers or e-bay before they even go on sale to the public. It's all about money and the fans are the ones that pay (literally!) I do believe Fan Club members deserve presales but brokers join just so they can get tickets too. To stop most of this, let fan club members pick up their tickets, showing ID, the day of the show.

You have such integrity and are so humble - only some of the reasons why you are loved and respected! Never stop speaking up or keeping it real! My husband and I tip our hat (as you do to him who served 21+ years in the Army). Its a downright shame that scalpers are wrecking the experience of attending your shows. We had been looking forward to a night out but were also unable to get tickets. We can't pay (nor do we want to support) scalper prices - its a tough time when you're on a budget AND its the holidays. Like you, kids come first so its about giving. I have confidence you will come up with a way to curb scalping. Maybe it really should go back to the old school way - stand in line to buy tickets! If you really wanted to get crafty you could run a scalper sting and set up to buy tickets from local scalpers, videotape it and SHAME them by putting it on utube, your website, or put their pics in a video (at a performance). Bummed we are going to miss sharing your 40th and wishing you the best! Happy Holidays Jen

Musicians and there agents do control some of this. The whole idea of pre-sales and "FAN CLUBS" is to generate more money. (greed)? The fans can't change policies only Kid Rock and his cohorts can make changes. The first four rows or more of every concert are reserved for the band, managers, advertisers , etc. The fans never have a chance! The venues are mostly locked into Ticketmaster for generating tickets. The prices however are set by the band. One price for all tickets is the best way for the less wealthy to get good seats, but that doesn't seem to be the American way. Kid Rock is one of the fairest entertainers with pricing and thankfully he takes care of Michigan Fans with many concerts in our state. Thanks

I have enjoyed your concerts over the years. Every summer it is a tradition to see you when you are in town. I have yet been able to buy a ticket from ticket master. By the time the tickets go on sale, Stubhub and various other tickets sources have gobbled up the tickets. I don't know if the venue's where you play have control over the ticket sales or not. This is not brain surgery. I would think that if you want to have your concert at a particular venue you would be able to control how the tickets are sold. Two summers ago at CoAmerica Park I spent $200.00 on my general admission ticket, only to sand next to someone who spent $60 for theirs. I need to know the secrect to getting face valule tickets. I ended up sitting in the stands because I could not even see what was going on. I am sure you are doing what you can but this is an issue for the entire music industry. Maybe more entertainers need to get on board and stop the scalping. Single mom Michigan
