    Mine was "That's The Way It Is" (It's Like That :-) by Run DMC ---i was in 7th/8th grade --the second Rap song that i ever listened to was "Hard Times" by Run DMC

    i still LOVE both of those songs to this day :-)

Definitely Rapper's Delight. A guy I knew DJ'd at the Allen Park Civic Arena dances and he wore orange parachute pants---LOL.

Ah, FUN memories . . . "Rapper's Delight" by Sugarhill Gang!!! That sucker is 14 minutes long, but sure is a classic!! It was the first hip hop single to become a Top 40 hit, sold over ten million copies, went to #4 on the R&B chart, and became the highest selling 12 inch single ever.
