Now get in the pit and try to love someone.
after reading on the legality of scalping. places like stub have (supposedly) permission to sell their tickets above face value as the law suggests. but dont take my word for it. here is the actual law:
14/06: Michigan Ticket Scalping
In Michigan, selling tickets for more than their face value a.k.a. scalping, is a misdemeanor (90-days / $100 fine). See MCL 750.465(6). If people / entities are getting away with scalping tickets then it is because either the law just isn't being enforced in that particular county, or they have found the loophole and are exercising
a legal exception to the law. Under MCL 750.465(2) if the resale is being done with the written permission of the owner, lessee, operator, or manager of the theater, circus, athletic grounds, or place of public entertainment or amusement where the event occurs, then the sales can be made at locations other than the box office where the event occurs. The owner, lessee, operator, or manager must have knowledge and provide written permission to charge in excess of the box office price. Commercial entities like Stub Hub at stubhub.com must have permission lest they subject the business to unnecessary risk. Persons who make sales on Ebay are likewise taking quite a risk and are probably not aware that what they are doing is illegal in Michigan and many other states.

i hate to see people get fuked over !!1 when they are out to have a good time!! my opinion means nothing ... and lord knows aint nobody gonna all be pleased at once.. betcha there is a way to figure the true crinials and bust their ass whethere it be the venue or a tickect company if the artist doesnt agree or get there proper cut thats fuked....damn the more i think about it just sux.. bye yall just throwin my bone in
here is the positive thing to what you sayin... for those who buy tickets and have to sell them, then do it everyone has to eat .. i get that and I went to the detroit show in jan without a ticket like a dumbass all the way from florida
but when i got there .. i lucked up ..big time
what is completely unfortunate and pissses me off .. when i can get a better deal and better seats from tickatmaster rarely or stubhub... not puttin .. blame on the fan club or the band or the man,
just seems like , puttin myself on that end and trying to understand why in the fuck the artist should have first pick on tickets for their fanclub... on a presale plan ... that we join and pay for.. im just sayin something aint right abpout that .. truely it is easy say ya have 10 brokers all members of many fan clubs they snappin up up and maybe there werent many tickets set aside.
for fan club members .. the amount of tickets
should be the same for all ya wanna sit vip sure pay for it .. or the nosebleed , still gonna be a kick asss show, i just wish that the artists could have more control when it comes to their venues, seemingly to me there is a lil bit of scammin happnin and damn dude its bigger than the cat on the corner sellin a six pack , its sad and sux and kid is def the type of artist that could raise awareness and get folks pissed .. its a money thing these fukers are gettin mad rich off true fans that part makes me mad.. they have tickets to all kinds of things oh well there has to be way and the only way is to change the wording of the promise of joinin the fan club like you are garunteed ck sp a ticket or two maybe the coin thing would work like the cruise
but still those buyers join fanclubs soo fuk thats hard but i could fix it
I know that I'm gonna catch some shit on here for this, but here is my story about tickets for one of the shows at Comerica. I bust my ass everyday (like I'm sure all of you do) moving 900 pound pool tables in and out of bars and I enjoy a night out every now and again. I've been to quite a few Kid Rock shows (3 on this tour alone so far) and I know how fast Detroit shows sell out. A few weeks ago I got the presale password from live nation and took a break from work and was lucky enough to get tickets for the Saturday show. I was going to buy 3 upper deck tickets for 30 bucks a piece but then decided to just buy a 6 pack for 9 dollars more. So I'm only using 3 of the tickets and decided to put the other 3 on ebay starting at 50 bucks for all 3 tickets hoping to possibly end up at 100 bucks so that I could make it a free night out. Well I ended up getting WAY more than I expected for them,so I decided that I'll buy the first round of beers for the people I sold them to since they're going to be sitting next to me. So does that make me an asshole because I sold them for more than what they're worth? I say no and here's why... I've been to just about every Kid Rock show in Detroit since 1999 and have NEVER not been able to get tickets through ticketmaster, live nation, or tickets.com because I know that they sell out in minutes and that I have to be right on top of it and keep refreshing and looking for tickets because eventually some will come up. There are floor tickets right now on artist arena for Friday night!! Call me an asshole but Im super stoked for the show and for the fact that my night is paid for!!
You do not even want to get me going on scalpers. I just wanna take my stun gun and hit'em with it. Then i hope their pubes fall out and don't ever come back...They need to go out and work for a living instead of preying on ppl who love music and event such as that. Hell i even hate to think that ppl pay extra money for any event because of these fucks. They don't provide a service they rip ppl off of their hard earned money. I wish the clamp would go down on them and soon and hard...
Angel, I realize the policy was changed to improve it, however, when sent the confirmation letter they do not give all the information the fan needs to one stop shop a presale. Other clubs provide seating charts, will call times at venues, etc. Some clubs even provide maps of locations of shows.
You need to know how early you can pick up the ticket, where you are seating (and some of Bob's floorplans mess with the standard venue seating chart shown) and the latest you can pick up tickets to get into show.
Can't see why we cannot continue to improve.
I just looked on the detroit craigslist under tickets by owner. On 6/22 there was somebody claiming to be a member of this site scalping tickets. 6 general admission for 125.each and 10 vip for 350 each. If those were all bought on pre-sale they will be surprised when all there tickets are refunded for buying too many. DAMN SCALPERS
@KRLO. Yep that is fine. I joke all the time that I'll even answer to "hey you". We splurged and booked a night at the Book Cadillac. It's my anniversary gift. But after a night with Kid Rock my husband will be getting the best gift! LMAO! That would be fun to meet up with some fans from here.
@ 420, thanks, that makes my day. I will try to find what kind of camera I can bring in and hopefully take some good videos and pics, then I will have my computer literate kids show me how to download them and share them.
@just, do you mind if I call ya just? We are staying downtown also on Fri, we are at the Holiday Inn Express. It's only about 1/2 mile from Comerica, I can definitely do that walk to and from. Plan on a bunch of mingling on Saturday also, maybe we will see you down there.
@KRLO Thanks, You are right, great seats either way. So excited. We are staying downtown that night. Making a full day of it! (or two days if we can handle it).
@420 Hope your right. That would be awesome to see him that close. Thank you!
@KRLO according to the seating chart during the ticket sales, the numbers go from left to right. So you should be at the catwalk. Awesome -enjoy
Sorry I entered before I was finished. We saw a configuration of Comerica for the concert when we purchased and printed it out but per usual I can't find it. I think it goes, section a,b, catwalk, c,d, then e,f,g are behind those. I know they change things the day of, so I'm not holding my breath just thankful we got good seats.
@KRA, good info, thing that pisses me off about scalping in Michigan, If I were to purchase 4 tkts to a Red Wing game, 1 person couldn't go, At the game, I try to sell the tkt not scalp, either sell below or at face value, just to recoup some of the cost. and I get caught, I would be issued a hefty fine. It's happened to my husband, and others that I know, but if I go on stub hub to sell the same tkt, and maybe at a higher than face value price, it's perfectly fine. One other way to squeeze money out of us 'criminals.'
@just because, not sure if we have catwalk seats, depends if, while looking at the stage, and seats numbers go left to right then we are next to the catwalk, if the seats numbers go right to left then we are on the aisle. Either way I'm very happy w/ either seats. If I'm next to catwalk, icing on the cake, if I'm on the aisle I can get out to pee real easy!!
My point here is KR and AA only have control over the tickets they are alloted per the contract.
Heres the way it was explained to me. I dont know if its accurate but it makes sense based on other info I have read.
Kid Rock gets paid a flat amount for each show. Out of that amount, he has to pay his peeps, etc.
He is also given a certain number of seats for his personal use and Fan club. These seats are spread thru all the price sections for fan club members to choose from as not everyone can afford VIp. The artist arena Fan club seats are set up so you must show ID to pick them up to avoid Scalping. BECAUSE WE ALL COMPLAINED.........
The venue gets a certain number of seats. If the venue is also the promoter, then I assume they get all the rest of the seats.
In most large venue concerts, i assume the promoter arranges to sell tickets thru ticketmaster who is set up to sell to Brokers like stub hub etc all making huge amounts of money.....
Dunno, CM, but, I sure hope someone gets around to telling us everything we need to know in one email back upon ticket purchase. Especially if the ticket process changes which it did.
Bad fan club, bad, AA, bad bad bad Bob.
Other fan clubs do all this automatically. I fail to see the reason why this one can't.
...so the question in my mind is... who knows what?
Interesting read. Thanks for posting. Hey, how do you guys know you are next to catwalk. We have seats 7 & 8 section D. Where does that put us? Have'nt been able to find this.
Interesting read, thanks for the share Tony.
Be careful buying tickets outside of official means. Hubby gave me one excellent seat to see Springsteen in the early eighties. Turns out he paid some guy outside the Civic Center the day he went by $100 for a ticket. I was so happy, as this was out of character.
Turned out to be part of a six pack stolen and reported to management. All six of us were rounded up and unceremoniously escorted out the front door by the head security bitch.
We had one car and he went to the Hartford festival with friends to wait to pick me up. Took a cab home ($$$) to wait for him. Around ten, decided he wasn't coming home first, so at 10 pm I took another cab back to the Center (more $$$$) to meet him.
It was excruciating both times, to wait outside and listen to that excellent band rip......
Oh well.
I really lucked out in presale, kept refreshing and ended up getting VIP, Our seats, I think are right next to the catwalk, I am not gloating, by any means. We had to cancel the cruise this year two days before, we took the refunded money and saved it for VIP tkts for the summer concert here. I am so happy for these tkts and wouldn't give them up for world power. Karma may have intervened. Just saw similar tkts to mine going for $2000.00 per tkt. Is it tempting? Yeah, would I do it? NO.
BTW, if going on the cruise next year, BUY THE CANCEL FOR NO REASON INSURANCE
@RedWing, I'm in your same section, I'm going on Fri. Don't know what day you are going. Be fun to meet up, My Hubby and I are going and are normal folks, last kid just graduated from HS last night, 3 kids in college, we will be eating beans and rice for the next 10 years probably.
Not dumb ? at all KRLO, I'd like to know the answer to that myself.!
I didn't buy thru the presale I was too pissed and wasn't gonna go. I just decided when I got outta bed this morning to see what kind of tix general public sale had to offer. I got a good one..sec. D row 9 seat 9. And I can have it mailed to me and don't have to mess with picking it up! I got lucky, I do know that. It did say a jersey was included with VIP but ticket.com doesn't know how we will get it-if we pick it up or if something will come with the ticket to pick your size etc.
Dumb question alert, If I have to show my ID to pick up the tkts, then how do the scalpers get around that? Is that because these other sites 'legitimate resellers'.
if you read the last part of the post it says with written permission, tickets can be sold at other places for a higher price.
I find it interesting that Stub Hub has way better seats made available for purchase than the fan club (and of course at way higher prices). I got my tickets 30 seconds after the presale started and am at the end of the vip section. Looked at stub hub, and they have the same row but right at the catwalk. I appreciate the fact Kid offers presales at nice prices but the fans in the club really should get dibs on the best seats. I'm happy I got seats when others couldn't. There has to be a better system for the true fans. Love ya Kid, but sometimes it seems the people around you aren't doing you any favors with your fans. I'm loyal, though.
so it seems that olympia entertainment, and or comerica park is giving permission to the scalpers or they would be shut down. they must have some sort of contract that includes all events for resale at higher prices
