I am a musician. I did not attend college and barley made it out of high school. I try my hardest to keep my ticket prices low, THIS I HAVE CONTROL OF.!! I can not control nor do i understand how the fuck the scalpers and all the secondary websites and bullshit get them. IF I COULD CONFRONT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM FACE TO FACE I WOULD AND IT WOULD NOT WORK OUT TO WELL FOR THEM I GAURANTEE ALL OF YOU. I hate them, i feel like someone is beating up a close friend or family member while im chained to a chair. I try to understand it, i try to ask my managers and people in the buisness i know to help me understand it, but it seems they dont either. The only way i know right now to stop it is to not buy from these people or wait till the last minute when there scared they cant sell em and have to sell them cheap. I am not gonna apologize for something i cant control and it you wanna hate or blame me for it, go for it. But if your really pissed about it, research it and try to find out why its going on and let me know. alot of us are trying to figure out a better way, trust me, the last thing i want is some bottom of the barrel lazy fuck who wont get a real job ripping off my fans to get rich. And no, this post was not consulted w my mangers or publicist, they would probly say not to post it, but thats not how i do things. This is right from my computer to yours. I hope it helps to understand at least how i feel about people trying to get tickets in my fan club or any other way that turns out to be a let down, THAT IS NOT MY INTENTION OR WHY I GOT INTO MUSIC AT ALL. Maybe i should shut down the fan club, because i dont want anyone to think im screwing them and i cant keep the "bottom feeders" from joining it, YET! I try to think of better ways to do things all the time, especially for the fans, but my main focus is always my son and then writing good songs, without those two things, nothing is happening. I will keep my mind spinning trying to figure out a better way to get good tickets to my true fans, and it brings to mind a new song on the new cd "the least that i can do is care" unfortunatley thats not gonna be enuff in this case. trust me im on top of this and doing what i can. thx

But it is okay for KR to charge $800 and $300 for "VIP" tickets? KR is scalping his own tickets. Born Free as in Free Market.

I tried to get tickets for the 1st presale on that Monday and when the map of the seats started downloading my computer froze. By the time it unfroze the presale was SOLD OUT! I was soo upset! Maybe next time not put that map of the seats on? I don't know...it's a tough problem to fix. On a positive note, selling out a presale in 6 minutes or less?!?! C'mon now...THAT'S AWESOME!! I think that says alot about YOU and the TWISTED BROWN TRUCKER BAND. Screw those damn assholes that are ripping people off! I did not give up tho!! I was ready and waiting again the next day for the second presale from ticketmaster. I was lucky enough to get a 6pk of seats (all we could afford this time around) SEC 318, row 14 seats 7-12. This will be my 9th Kid Rock concert, and I'm SUPER EXCITED!!! I've had gen adm floor (saginaw), 9th row (saginaw), nosebleeds (the Palace) and lawn at DTE (5 times!!) What I'm trying to say is it doesn't matter where my seats are...YOU ROCK THE PLACE EVERY TIME!! I love your music and everything you stand for. Hopefully ONE DAY I will get my hands on some VIP's and actually get a chance to meet you. Always stay true to yourself and your fans, and GOD BLESS... From Swartz Creek, MI

Wow, I hope to someday be able to attend a concert of yours....huge fan! The only one to blame is Ticketmaster! I mean really the CAPTCHA is supposed to keep scalpers from using software to obtain tickets, yeah like maybe 10 yrs ago. It is like they don't care! They need to hire some tech savvy kids who can develop a system that can't be hacked by these scalpers or used by their software!!! They could have that you have to confirm your purchase through an email which is simple. I mean come on their IT people should be able to pull up large amounts of tickets sold to one place, person, or same credit card and just cancel them! If you ask me Ticketmaster is LAZY!!! Totally not your fault!!!
kidrockangel's picture

Darlin, You are never gonna please everyone!!!!!! anyone with a brain knows this is not your fault. Its the same with every artist out there. I'm laying low for awhile. Sick to death of all the bitchin and hatin. Maybe you should join me!!! lol Love you all! Angel

Don't shut down the fan club! True fans understand there are things beyond your control. Ever think of a simalcast(? spelling on that! lol) for the fan club members? Have one of the crew hook up the computer and show the show from the stage Then we can all be on stage with you at the same time! After all it is your site and the concert is you and you own a way to let us be at the show and it can be an exclusive for your fans and maybe a first for a performer. Shut out those who shut us out! Anyway, it's just a thought! Thanks for keeping us posted on how you feel too! I will see you in Ohio!

I'll try to keep this short & sweet ...which might be hard:) I am a big fan. I was lucky enough to purchase tickets to the Ford field show despite missing my chance threw the fan club. I knew & expected both sale & presale to sell out within a matter of minutes. anyone who doesnt already know this about your shows cant be that big of a fan & should quit their wining ...better luck next time! sorry. Scalping has went on for years & will continue to go on for years to come, there is nothing that will stop it, to not fault of your own. when people are desperate they will do what they can to make a buck regardless of the outcome, frustration & trouble it may cause to others. You are great (one of the best!) at what you do ...you've been given a gift and have chosen to share it with others ...as fans, we should all be thankful for that & enjoy what we can ...whether it be listening on the Radio, to a CD or in Concert! your only one person & shouldnt feel obligated to correct others actions. on another note ...I love all the personal posts and pics on fb ...its nice to see that you have time to spend w/ your family & friends. after seeing the hunting pic you posted Id love for you to check out this fb page: THESHACKhuntingblind, its an awesome hunting blind that my dads business makes (here in Michigan). business has been extremely slow this winter so Im trying to do everything i can to help him & the business out. know anybody else who might need/want one (or ten, lol)? they deliver in & out of state :) & become a fan of the page!!! ...I would be exstatic (my dad knows im a big fan of yours:) & I'll keep checking to see if you do. I told you keeping this short would be hard, I apolojize. I have many reasons why I hope to meet you in person someday ...I feel like its supposd to happen & that it will, i dont know why I feel that way but I do. wishing you all the best! ...& looking forward to January!

It's so refreshing to hear a celebrity express themselves without censorship! Bobby, we saw you 3 years ago at the Puyallup Fair in Washington State ~ while we weren't thrilled with the venue or prices on ANYTHING ~ we LOVED your show! It confirmed what we here in Sequim, WA ~ Olympic Peninsula ~ have believed for years ~~ YOU WOULD BE FAMILY partying with us & you are an honorary Sequim-billy!!! LOVE YOU ~ some your TRUE friends ?

I've always questioned the idea of backstage passes, front row center and 50 yard line seats...all things I will never see. I don't blame Kid Rock for that, greed is the root to all evil and money makes the world go round. He didn't start that and he sure's hell can't stop it. Just because I can't afford the best seat in the house doesn't mean I'm any less of a fan and if I'm in the last row I'm still going to be a rowdy motherfucker with a beer in my hand singing along to every word. I've seen Kid Rock put Aerosmith to shame and that may be a bold statement but after he performed, I was amazed he was the opening act. The tour was supporting his first album but he had pyros, the fur coat and dancers in the cages on both sides of the stage. I don't know that people read these things or not and I didn't really stick to said topic but Kid Rock is....well I really don't know what he is because I don't know how to put a label on someone who can play everything on the damn stage and mix every genre of music together on an album. All I know is I fuckin' like it and bet he could make polka sound good. As far as the ticket issue, it's not his fault. He loves his city and it's more than the tattoo on his arm. He bought a few hundred tickets to the Lions game and gave them to military personnel because the game wasn't a sell out and the wasn't going to be televised. He has played three nights in a row so his hometown fans can see him. He's got some music scholorship thing going on at Wayne State. He gives back to the city that made him and no fucking scalper can take that away from him or the fans to go see him. I couldn't think of any better place to be this year on Sept. 11th than Fort Jackson, SC. $30 general admission and free to anyone with a military id. Partying with US Army and Kid Rock...best fuckin' concert ever. I guess that's my answer general admission shows, doesn't matter to me because I'm still gonna be Kid Rockin' In The Free World!

Right On Kid..well said! You are NOT to blame for what those dirty scumbags do. I look forward to seeing you in Bossier City. Much love to you and all you do for your fans!

oh, and please don't shut down the fan site, I've met some amazing people thru here!!!!
HeatherSentz's picture

Keepin it Real as always! Haven't had the pleasure of dealing with buying tickets to your concerts yet----cuz you haven't released any west coast dates, but I'll be sure to NOT blame you for their BS! Hey, problem solved.......I can send you my address and you can bypass all that ticketmaster bs and send me tickets straight to my house :)

You've always been true to yourself, your family and your fans. Of course this is something out of your control and the fact that you are looking for a better way, is a testament to your character. Love you Bobby!

I don't really see how people can blame the entertainer for brokers purchasing tickets and jacking up the prices, it happens at every single event nation and probably worldwide. It sucks but not much can be done to fix it, people will always be looking for ways to continue to make a quick lick off of items in high and limited demand. I hate it as well at the summer concert at DTE I purchased over priced tickets from stubhub for a client and 50 other people had the same seats, so they (clients) had to over pay again from a street scalper and then I had to get my clients a gift card to apologize for them having to go through this, huge disaster. In regards to people blaming KR, thats just ridiculous, if you keep up on his projects in the media and the many efforts he engulfs his life with for our city, to show disrespect and blame him for issues beyond his control is just ignorant and cruel. KR; keep up the good work, i'll be VIP because I'd rather pay more for the convienence of VIP seating and also the conv. of not having to pay for tickets that may be fake, plus its the least I can do considering your efforts to help Detroit.

Bobby, You are the best, as well as the twisted Brown Trucker band.!!! We your true fans know that you are a great ,caring person...The Losers(scalpers) selling your tickets,,are just that...Your concerts are the BEST...We purchase our tickets from this site....just keep writing amazing songs...and tell the Losers, that they never met a mother fucker quite like me!!...I may be a Nurse....but I can kick some ass...keep Rockin...We love ya...and please come back to PA,,, this tour!!!

I don't think you can control it. The bottom of the barrel will always find a way to screw honest people out of something. Please don't feel responsible for the injustice. Just keep making great music that makes the boring parts of life (driving, exercising, etc) enjoyable for your fans. Don't make yourself sick by trying to please the people who will always be pissed about something. They are probably the people who would jump at the chance to buy from a scalper. I am really enjoying the new CD and can't wait for the cruise - thanks so much for doing it again! Love you.

Thank you for addressing the problem yourself, as true as you are real the truth lies with the "bottom feeding scum bags". Just stay true to yourself, Jr. and crew and your music will live on at whatever price tag they put on it. I only ever buy direct from the source, those people who buy from scalpers are in for a big surprise when they get to the gate, and that's their own fault. Just keep the music rolling and gigs coming and watch the sea of fans follow. God Bless.

I'm in awe, that Kid Rock's defending himself to fans over concert tickets. Maybe I'm in awe because I've known for years artists have little to no control over venues nor ticket sales, nor website technical issues. It's common knowledge, it's also a matter of using common sense & logic. I think of our soldiers fighting for our freedom, risking lives at this moment, apart from families this Christmas. I think of those battling illness, fighting for life, their loved ones facing fear of their loss. I think of those who have lost jobs, homes, family traditions. I think of those abused. I think of those 3 little boys who disappeared the day before their dad attempted suicide, & still missing. Kid Rock & TBT are alive and well. The man & his band are enjoying much success after many years of sacrifices & paying their dues. We fans are enjoying the music & the success with them, we benefit in many ways from the music & success. Kid Rock will celebrate his 40th birthday in his beloved Detroit this January. Based upon media coverage he was/is excited with plans for his 40th birthday celebration, including being able to include his fans in the celebration, hosting a concert at Ford Field...Forty Field. Now there are negative aspects attempting to tarnish that happiness, well, that ain't right y'all, it's a shame. For those fans fortunate to attend...have fun, be safe, make the most of every moment creating memories. Be grateful for the opportunity, regardless. For those not able to attend, be happy for those who are, respectively. I'm grateful for the music and for Kid Rock & TBT, all they've brought to my life the decade I've been a fan. The music, the concerts I've been blessed to attend over the years, the lasting genuine friendships I've established among fellow fans, the memories created...are of priceless value. No complaints from me, regardless. I'm grateful for what I have. God Bless us all. Rock on!

Their are still a few VIP Tickets available (as of right now) at ticketmaster.com....for anyone interested, they are great seats and worth the price. Good luck!
NorthernMIRocker's picture

It's ridiculous to assume that it is your fault for what is going on and as a true fan who was subject to the circumstances I don't hold you responsible but I will hang around by that gate and have a few words with the scalpers with 100's of tickets to sell. It's awesome to know there are so many real fans out there that care so much. Don't even think of closing this fan site. This is an awesome outlet for us fans. Keep rockin and can't wait for the concert!
kathy carver's picture

unfortunately, I was out of town so missed out on this whole thing. BUT....I am 58 years old. was one of the very youngest to see bob seger at notre dame dances and so on.... My concert days are over as I cannot abide the scalping any more (which, by the way, has gone on for as long as I can remember). I worked for years at pine knob, pontiac silverdome and the palace in parking so I can tell you first hand how unscrupulous these suckers are. and radio stations are not above reproach either. I don't know what the answer is. Personally, just seeing you up front and personal as you were on the AMA awards is alright by me! I wish the people who haven't seen you in public could witness how truly amazing you are in concert (6 so far for me) but.....for now, I have to see you on award shows or maybe sometime at a "quickie" at the Big Boy's off 75!!!!!!
