I am a musician. I did not attend college and barley made it out of high school. I try my hardest to keep my ticket prices low, THIS I HAVE CONTROL OF.!! I can not control nor do i understand how the fuck the scalpers and all the secondary websites and bullshit get them. IF I COULD CONFRONT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM FACE TO FACE I WOULD AND IT WOULD NOT WORK OUT TO WELL FOR THEM I GAURANTEE ALL OF YOU. I hate them, i feel like someone is beating up a close friend or family member while im chained to a chair. I try to understand it, i try to ask my managers and people in the buisness i know to help me understand it, but it seems they dont either. The only way i know right now to stop it is to not buy from these people or wait till the last minute when there scared they cant sell em and have to sell them cheap. I am not gonna apologize for something i cant control and it you wanna hate or blame me for it, go for it. But if your really pissed about it, research it and try to find out why its going on and let me know. alot of us are trying to figure out a better way, trust me, the last thing i want is some bottom of the barrel lazy fuck who wont get a real job ripping off my fans to get rich. And no, this post was not consulted w my mangers or publicist, they would probly say not to post it, but thats not how i do things. This is right from my computer to yours. I hope it helps to understand at least how i feel about people trying to get tickets in my fan club or any other way that turns out to be a let down, THAT IS NOT MY INTENTION OR WHY I GOT INTO MUSIC AT ALL. Maybe i should shut down the fan club, because i dont want anyone to think im screwing them and i cant keep the "bottom feeders" from joining it, YET! I try to think of better ways to do things all the time, especially for the fans, but my main focus is always my son and then writing good songs, without those two things, nothing is happening. I will keep my mind spinning trying to figure out a better way to get good tickets to my true fans, and it brings to mind a new song on the new cd "the least that i can do is care" unfortunatley thats not gonna be enuff in this case. trust me im on top of this and doing what i can. thx

Bob You're the best! We all know you care and try to keep the prices down. I can't wait to be part of your birthday bash and I absolutely had the best time of my life on the cruise last April!!!! Your music always makes me happy and in a great mood! Love the new cd also! See ya in January!

I was one of the members bitching, sorry...not that a personal apology probably matters. I was venting! Not bitching about you or your site...just bitching because I was mad all the scalpers were bogging down the sight for the REAL fans. Thank you for all you do, I truly appreciate it...I was born and raised in Detroit (Brightmoor) to be exact and nobody else from SE MI has ever cared enough to show their roots and give back. I remember checkin you out downtown, I believe at St. Andrews or the State and Joe was on stage higher than a kite...those were the good ol' days. Tickets were $10-$15 and NEVER any trouble getting em either. God Bless and keep doin what you do!!!!

Thanks for keeping in touch with your fans!! I have been a fan more many, many years and have yet to see you in concert due to the obvious, the economy. Any concert I can get to, I'm usually in the nosebleed section (petrified of heights and have panic attacks) I live in CT so if you are in the area in the future, hopefully I can get to it this year! God Bless everything you do!! I love the new CD!!

There are ticket procurement options to mitigate scalping, such as will call and electronic ticketing (requiring id & credit card to enter the facility). Fan club rocks, keep it going. It does suck that some did not get tickets, but many, many did, supply & demand is a bitch. With the tour just kicking off, there will be ample opportunities for all fans to enjoy a concert (or two), granted Ford Field is special. Maybe the stage to could be pushed back and/or side/behind stage seat could become available to fan club members to allow for additional tickets to be sold. There is still the challenge though to getting the tickets in the hands of the fans and not the scalpers. I’m not sure if Lions season ticket holders had an advance opportunity to purchase tickets and may have opted to purchase and resell, bumping up the number of listings on resale sites, this may be their right as a season ticket holder. I do have memberships to some other fan clubs and sometimes I get tickets, sometimes I don’t. All fan club sites, including yours, has a disclaimer about obtaining tickets.

Your true fans That have been to your shows and that have followed your career KNOW that this is something that you would BE truly troubled over. I have been to many of your shows ( still never enough) and they all were very affordable.I might add , and WERE TERRIFIC SHOWS! and my faves being..at Konocti Harbor and at the Filmore in SF. I will tell you a place that way over prices ALL tickets and that is STUBHUB. You might want to look into that and find out how in the hell they get to profit so much! If money were no object I'd buy a ticket to every one of your shows!! BUT being unemployed for 3 years now...I will just have to settle for the next time that you are in my area..its worth eating mac & cheese every night for dinner for a month or so hahaha! GREAT NEW ALBUM!!! I just love how you grow and change!! Much Love and respect to you!

Hi Bob.. I just feel that this is gonna be "The show of Kid Rock Shows".. I feel that any Kid Rock fan.. whether they been with ya since 1998 or just joined in 2010 knows that this is gonna kick some major Birthday Bobby ass... and we are ALL trying to get to it. Ain't everybody gonna be happy..nope. I was at work the time the presale went off.. don't have access to personal bizz at work.. same thing happened on black friday. But like Kev said.. where there's a will there's a way. How about the ones that don't have jobs, can't go because they are in a wheelchair and stuck at home, can't go because they are taking care of their sick loved ones, can't go cause they need to be home with their lil ones, can't go because they are putting themselves thru college... ect ect. I don't think anythings gonna work with the scalpers unless fans do what you ask and not buy from the scalpers, or wait till the very end. However, I feel that perhaps there is a way for the ones that can't go to be able to live it, in someway. Maybe do a Live DVD of the event, or do a live feed exclusively on the fan club site, or pay per view event. Sure this doesn't help the ppl who want to pay a fair fee for to come down and see the show... but perhaps it could help in a broader range who can't afford to come to travel to the show. Baby, Rock On !!

I bought tickets last year when you were at Riverbend. We got online to purchase them the moment they went on sale and were stuck with lawn tickets as the best available. I was told straight up by the Ticketmaster rep that a lot of the good seats are given away or sold in advance to corporate sponsors and they can do as they wish with the tickets. Which means, the tickets go to people who really don't care about seeing you in concert, therefore the tickets end up on ebay or StubHub for 10 times the face value. There has to be a better way, a way that you can sell tickets through a third party company where you can have more control over who the tickets are going to. I would imagine that if you requested, StubHub, eBay, and all the other sites out there like them, would have to remove any of your tickets that were being sold for more than face value, if you requested it. Just my .02. Good luck with your tour. My wife and I will hopefully see you in Louisville at the Yum Center. If we can get tickets for less than an arm and a leg, that is.

I'm Detroit born but southern raised... my detroit family was lucky enough to get tickets to your birthday party.. enjoy yourself, you have worked hard and put up with a lot of crap from the industry for this opportunity to do things your way.. screw the managers.. stay with your midwestern values and roots.. with love, support and blessings to you Michele H. from Jackson, TN I'm ready to sing back up at Memphis concert to any song on the Born Free cd.. got them all memorized..lollol I like the new sound... a lot.

It is very apparent to us fans that you work hard to show how much you appreciate us. I have had the honor of attending 5 of your concerts and you have thanked everyone each time for coming out and spending their hard earned money. There will always be those hoodlums that make it hard for us true fans to get tickets and that continue to take experiences away from us but... no matter what they may take from us at the time, it will never amount to what you have given us fans and others over the years. You are an amazing artist and person and continue to put yourself on the line to stand up for your beliefs. I admire you for many things but also for your passion of this matter. You do care and and it shows!

BOB- I can say this, I've seen them at work. Before I started buying my tickets online so I could see best seats available. They stand out there and buy their limit 4-6 and then they ask everyone else in line to buy the max instead of two. I don't know how they do it online but I'm sure they just use various credit cards and email addys. I can say I have never given in to the $5 they offered me to buy an extra tix or two each but I can say I gave away my American Idol tickets to the first person that asked if they could HAVE them!! Hey if you win the sweepstakes can you donate airfair to a childrens hospital if your in driving distance?? If I win I'll donate my sweet hotel voucher too! It's a good cause!

i feel u Bob, i totally believe every word, & u didnt even need 2 explain. any true fan can see whats going on, 4 real. your job is 2 be the entertainer, & u do your job well, above that, u do work like a bitch 2 get the job done, all them late nights & early mornins. the scalpers are their own disgusting breed, & the harder u work 2 defeat them, the more energy it will take away from your ever spectacular Rock & Roll. but by all means, give it your best shot if youre willing 2 try, they disgust me as well; they make rock concerts a whole different sleazy game. & GOD knows there were times i got stuck with just a couple extra tix & couldnt even sell them at face value (minus fees) thanx 2 sicko scalpers. so if anyone can find a soluton, id be willing 2 place all my chips on u. just dont let those fucknuts take your eye off the prize, you & your band are SO HOTT right now baby, IMO the best in the biz ;-)

Rock on Dude......Good to see your interacting with your fans......Wish I could enter that contest to win tickets to see you....But Canadians cant enter...... I will triumph some how to see you..... Take care from the Great White North.......Woohoooooooooooooo

Haha we all need Kid Rock frequent flyer cards. The more concerts you attend the better the benefits....shit I'd be a platinum member by now for sure!!! I wonder if it's possible to do something like that?

The so called scalpers call themselves "ticket brokers" I know of some of these people. How can they buy so many tickets at a time when the average person can only buy 6 or 8 tickets at a time. What you need to do is only allow 6 tickets to anyone, don't allow ticket brokers 1st dib on tickets, everyone should be equal, I don't care if you are the friggen president of united states, you only get 6 tickets period. Seriously all tickets sold out in 19 minutes, I got lucky and got my 2 tickets.

Just once more...I'm so impressed....just super impressed that you actually read these blogs and care enough to post back to us. I'm just amazed...you are so real and not the celebrity that everyone else becomes. Thanks again for keeping it real and for being true to your fans. That's why we are your fans!!

We were so excited to get tickets to your B-day bash, we heard we could get 6 tickets for $99!! Well we tried to get them through the fan club and we were unsuccessful:( We ended up paying $660 for 6 tickets in nose bleed!! We didn't know what was going on... we just wanted to go..... we have been long time fans, and will always be!!! We know it's not your fault. Thanks, YOU ROCK!!! C U 01/15/11, The Payne Fami

By the way, are we going to have a chance at more pre-sale tickets? I wouldn't mind seeing you in Toledo.

I like the idea of will call. I'm in several fan clubs and they do will call only, pickup day of the show. Inconvenient, yes. But it doesn't stop scalpers. They just sell the tickets on ebay or whatever, pick them up the day of the show, and then go outside to meet their customers. There's really no way around it. And it's NOT the artist's fault! It's greedy, scum-sucking bastards who don't know how to EARN a living without scamming some poor person who just wants to enjoy some good live music. I personally love that Kid controls his ticket prices and is open and honest about it unlike SOME artists who intentionally jack their prices up to ridiculousness and then pretend they had nothing to do with it. Thanks for posting this, and for being honest about how you feel. Your priorities are straight my friend!

I have went to a few concerts where you couldn't pick presales up til the night of and you had to have the credit card they were purchased off of to show for proof. I kinda liked this because then you dont have to stress over not getting them in time, losing them, forgetting them at home (yep actually did that once)...and for all the mother fuckers crying supply and demand WTF!!! Why should they make $ off of artists like Kid that actually do something for a living?!

There are still good people in this world. Thank you~

I'm not a member of your fan club though I should be because I'm a HUGE fan. I never thought about the pre-sale and was just excited to get tickets on Friday morning when they go on sale to the public. So I'm taking my entire family to see our HOME BOY and we're all excited. So I get up early Friday morning, make some coffee, sign into Ticketmaster... bring on the tickets to see THE KID. I start typing in 6 tix, 5 tix, 4 tix, 3 tix, 2 tix, 1 tix...BAM!!! I get 1 General Admission ticket. So here I am trying to get single tickets, and can you believe I never got another one. So here I am with 1 ticket to your show. DARN!!! what a bummer. I guess I'll have to sell the one ticket because I'm not going by myself. I will be so sad when Jan 15 comes to Detroit.

My wife says you should write a song called (SCALPERS) because you rock, Kid!!!!

All I can think of to say is THANK YOU!!!!!! You have NO idea how much it means to hear this directly from you! I am one of those people who bitched. Not about you but about that stupid Artist Arena. I will admit that had my doubts before that you actually posted to this site but now I no longer have any doubts. I am 100% certain that this post came directly from you. I appreciate your sincerity and your loyalty to your fans. Please do not get rid of the fan club. I am a faithful member and I did finally get my tickets. There will always be crooks and there will always be people trying to screw the system. I'm sure there have to be ways to fix this so that those crooks don't ruin it for everybody. Nonetheless, I am a faithful fan and I believe that you are truly devoted to your fans and the music. One of the reasons I am such a fan is because it is so obvious how your music is written from your heart. All I can say is thank you again...it means a lot to have you put a post on here and to give us your honest opinion!!

What I do know is this and I hope someone reads my message. For the floor seats and first level sections for the Nashville Rising concert at the Bridgestone arena in June, you did not receive a ticket. You had to show your driver's license and credit card that was used to purchase your tickets through ticketmaster upon entering the arena. Bridgestone employees swiped your credit card through this handheld machine, it printed out your ticket seats, and in we went. I think more arenas and/or ticketmaster should look into this. It seems that it would have a major impact on reselling concert tickets. I know exactly how these people feel. It basically happens every freakin time you try to go to a concert. The first time I was aware this was going on was last year when my sister and I made a last minute change in vacation plans and went to Nashville instead of Destin last summer. It just so happened to be when the Nashville Rising concert was scheduled. "Scalpers" were selling tickets to a beneft concert for an ungodly amount of money per ticket. I wrote to the company who was putting on the benefit and she wrote me back saying a lot of people were complaining about the same thing. A week later, I tried one more time through ticketmaster and additional first level tickets had just been released!! Either my email complaint worked or luck was on my side...

thanks for the post and please don't shut down the fan club.. I was unemployed for nearly 2 yrs and I was just able to join the fan club again and would hate to see it shut down over parasites. I love your music and the way you've always stayed real even with all your success. The new CD is awesome and I felt every word. It gave me goosebumps and that's the highest compliment that I can give someone. thanks! Melissa
