I got one fer ya-- I woke up from a dream a Devil without a cause had a dream of a black chick ,white guy in the background i heard the Party Ode.Today im feeling like a Gangster from the Oldschool.
I am very slowly putting in writing and vocal credits, along with samples and references, on the lyric website (http://www.kidrocklyrics.net)
I still need to finish the Bootleg lyrics, but those are gonna take some time still.
I found some interesting things about the song Lay it On Me (Cocky)~
It doesn't seem to have any direct samples, but it has a lot of references. Here is what I've listed so far (I've decided to omit just simple musician names, those are obvious and KR uses them all the time)
--Back in Black (album, Hells' Bells is first of 10 songs) by AC/DC
--Saturday Night Live (TV Show)
--T.S.R by Biz Markie (Possibly; for "Got the funky fresh rhymes")
--Jason Ireland (Possible reference; Ireland is nicknamed "The Irish Tornado", he's a MMA fighter from Romeo, MI who won his first professional fight in 2000.)
I was totally surprised by the Jason Ireland connection. I don't watch fighting, so its not something I ever thought of. But given that his nickname is "Irish Tornado" and that he's from Romeo Mi, it just seemed like to big of a coincidence for it not to be a reference by KR. Has anyone heard this before or thought about it?
