Summer event season is in full swing in the Quad City area. And as the events go on, so does severe weather.
Event organizers must plan for any possible weather conditions. Burlington Steamboat Days President and Des Moines County Sheriff, Mike Johnson, said organizers run through exercises with emergency management crews.
"We think of all possible scenarios that could happen at Steamboat Days," he said.

I am and will keep on! Breaks my heart as it now seems every other day with the storms lately. My heart goes out to all of those that have lost anything especially, most of all Loved ones. Still praying.

Prayers are with all that have been affecting by the horrible tornadoes. It's hard 2 deal with such tragic natural disasters. Just remember always in your heart and encourage others to know God is always there to help you through whatever you can't handle on your own...just ask !!! Thanks everybody..it is so heartwarming to see neighbors coming together to help everyone affected, by the grace of God I am feeling so blessed. The tornado hit a mile behind my home & a half a mile in front..it is one thing to see the devastation on the news & in pictures but it will take your breath to actually see it with your own eyes.
