THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH !!!!!

LOVE to U :)))

Interesting ... I never gave the numbers much thought. I will say that Kid listens to his fans. Some must be jumping up and down in their tracks with TBT''s highlighting Kid and Sheryl ...not for the faint of heart! ... Relieved that he moved 'back home' for the video version of "Collide".
"California (may) Know How to Party" but the "Kid' Knows how to "Rock ... 'n' ... ~ Roll ~ ! ...."

Care could seal it for him with the country music community i think...

Just googled it it is at 820,000 copies sold as of 03/24/11. So 1,000,000 is probably gonna happen with this single. If not there are about 4-5 other singles that will push it way past that. By sales prediction at the rate it started it is set to sell as much as Rock N' Roll Jesus. We will see if it does. There is Purple Sky, Slow My Roll, and many more on that disc that are singles. And trust me i got an ear for singles. Has he released God Bless Saturday Night yet? That doesn't show as the next single or any official releases. That is yet another one that has single written all over it. Rock Bottom Blues is a good bar room shuffle that would pick up and move ppl to the disc as well. I really can't name a song that isn't good on there. After hearing Midwest Fall i honestly think it should have made the album sometimes when you put it out there you think ppl won't get it but after hearing it i think they would that could be a creeper released after all the singles and give this release yet another single that could be put out with a couple of other songs as B sides.

I am excited as fuck to see when this hits 1,000,000!

That is cool. It is a good video. Nice little set lyrics for a ballad. The music matches it. So it probably will be a nice little hit and move many cds in the country music scene. Wonder if Rock will get that much closer to 1,000,000 in sales? Hitting the country scene could very well accomplish that with this song. IN this day and age it is rare for even someone of KR caliber to do that...Wonder if he realizes that?

Thanks to everyone for sharing how all this comes together for them. I for one, am going to check-out some R Kelly and probably invest in ZBB following this 'exchange' :) I must say, I saw "Collide" more than several times today, and I just realized how watching TBT with Kid and Sheryl 'Makes it Happen.' and 'Brings it all together'~complete~home ... for me.

Home is where the heart is,

>>>Says to D; Yeah Seger is a favorite type of sound too. Mix it with some bar room southern stomp, some piano to meld the harmonies (elton john/bernie taupin style), a dash of blues, put some country and a little rock in there and you got what i will brand like i said earlier "Southern Fried ROCK".

I used to sneak down in the basement in my oldest brothers room and nab his Seger records and play them when he was out and about. You gotta be careful and not scratch them or you are had....That and Def Leppard, Rick Springfield, Styx. Just about all the late 70's early 80's sounds...

I'm not a songwriter but I do know there are some really good tunes out there whose lyrics I can't stand (like the Band Perry's "If I die young"). Love the song's melody but some of the lyrics I felt could have been more polished. Just my honest and humble (and albeit amateur) opinion. So I guess, I feel the music before I hear the words. If the words are beautiful, then you have a truly great song.

1BB ~ imho, ~You are Blessed ~ God given 'talent'!! :)
Obviously, what i write, isn't music :) I never even conceived of " ... at the same time ..." !!! duhhh!
Rock / his music and his persona / inspires me to write :) ... everything from 'poems' / i dream could be put to music: esp overlays to rap or Christian /not so much 'pop'! ~ others ~ briefs and even some essays. i guess i'm what would be called ...'a wanna-be song writer / collaborator' ;) but I must say, maybe God uses my 'take' in a different way ... maybe God's voice, channeled through me, inspires others in some + way ... while keeping me humble. That is also a 'way out of the ballpark' ~ 'over the top' feeling !!!
Protect and cherish your gift 1BB, thanks for sharing on all sites ;) and I'm keeping you in my prayers :) D

Yeah i get ya D. You can almost hear a song when you get some lyrics what it should sound like. The words talk to you in a way. Writing is funny that way. Some ppl are that way with the music end. It is like hearing Slash on the opening riff to WTTJ or SCOM. You knew what it should be and how instantly.

I like to call what i throw together Southern Fried Rock. A little bit southern, a little bit of rock, a bit of soul, a dash of blues, and a lot other stuff to keep away the blues....

D4evr's picture

Ajay,Yea, Absolutely ! Lol :)

Shaggs, nice to see ya, hope you're well - btw - Didn't Bob Seger say something like that?
"Still like that old time a-rock 'n' roll ~ that kind of music just soothes my soul"

"ROCK ON " !!! :)

ajay's picture

I dunno about everybody else that writes, but i can speak for myself. I write the lyrics first. I then pretty much can paint a picture and know how i want the music to sound. And i am usually spot on. Might need a tweak here and there but not much.

Kind of like knowing that Rock Bottom Blues needed to have a raunchy southern bar room shuffle to it that ppl would instantly want to dance to. That or knowing that piano would be great for this as it needs more melody and flow to it. Or this just needs pretty much acoustic guitar etc.

You get my drift. I have an ear for music, always have always will. Music is mysterious, she plays second to none. I think Duke Ellington or someone said that.

It annoys me when i hear a song that is good and i can hear what should be different and make it a better song if only they had done that. It is like eating the finest meal and having them bring you ketchup, know what i mean?

Oh the sound Soothes, just saying!!
