Some douche bad named Adolph Mongo is planning a boycott because Kid flies the rebel flag at his concert. I say we show up and boycott his ignorant ass and show him our love for Kid. Honestly no matter who it is or what it is there will always be someone out there who is going to be pissed off and have shit to say when they honor someone. Kid does so much for his home town and the people who live in it no matter the race, religion, or back ground. Yet you have this jerk wanting to ruin the Great Expectations Award annual dinner. Why can't Mr. Mongo just be happy that there is someone with money and influence who is willing to help when and where he can. I say we show up and support Kid! Road trip!

Great, me too. I need someone who is local to Detroit that can get me the phone numbers I need. I want this to be legal so that we can not be made to leave. I want to get a large turn out and show this jerk Mongo that he has took on more than he can handle. Kid has in so many ways showed nothing but love for his city and the people that live there. When it is his turn to be honored some asshole steps up, who is nothing more than an attention whore, decideds to try and ruin Kid's day. Lets stand up and voice our opinions too. If anyone can help just look me up on facebook, Alisha Mullen, and I will do all I can. I am planning on contacting Sixthman, and ask them if they have a problem with me handing out flyers on the cruise next month to get the word out.

Some NAACP supporters plan to boycott the Detroit arm's annual fundraiser over an honor for Kid Rock they say doesn't mesh with the civil rights group's goals.
The rocker is set to receive the Detroit branch's Great Expectations Award at the annual dinner, which typically attracts about 10,000 people, on May 1 at Cobo Center.
But Adolph Mongo, a longtime political consultant and head of Detroiters for Progress, said he and others will sit out over Kid Rock's use of the controversial Confederate flag during performances.
"It's a slap in the face for anyone who fought for civil rights in this country," Mongo said Thursday. "It's a symbol of hatred and bigotry."
NAACP officials defended the honor.
"Kid Rock ... has consistently lifted up the Great Expectations of many persons concerning the future of the city," Donnell R. White, interim executive director of the Detroit Branch NAACP, said in a statement.
Kid Rock and his representatives couldn't be reached. But in a 2008 interview with the Guardian in Britain, he said the flag to him represents southern rock 'n' roll.

Shut it!! My reason for using that asshole's name in the title was to get people's attention and get them to read it. Why don't you help me organize something to show this jerk that he has decided to persecute the wrong man. Instead of getting upset with me, let's work together against a common enemy. And, you may not have seen it, but That Girl was boohooing about a post that called her out and she asked that it be removed "for the sake of her kids" which I'm willing to bet aren't gonna log on and start reading post on here and even know it's her. She thought it was hurtful and wanted to not have to see it (even tho, you make your own bed, etc.) But, she got that post removed. I wish Alisha would have used a different title. To me she's giving the Ahole the attention he's so obviously desperately looking for by "having "his name in lights" on Kid's own site, that's really where I was coming from.
Thank you Redwingt for standing up for me. The last thing I wanted to do is piss of other Kid Rock fans. I would love to organize a protest against Mongo. I live in WV about six hours away from Detroit but if someone out there that can help well hell just hit me up on Facebook. Driving six hours is a piece of cake for Kid. I once drove 10 hours to atlanta to meet him at the waffle house. Lol and after being up 36 hours straight I looked like hell in the pictures but it was so worth it.

Asking someone to delete a discussion On this board that is sticking up for the Artist is just wrong. In your opinion maybe this idiot Mongo has gotten too much attention, and I agree to a certain extent, but asking someone to delete there discussion is going to far. State your opinion, but don't try and censor someone that is staying on topic with what is in the news here all over town. That is my opinion, given without any hatred or angst or ill toward anyone. Just stating what I think is fair in this ugly situation.

I think it's a great idea to protest right along with this idiot against his belief of what Kid Rock using the Confederate flag stands for. Were in the USA and that's how things are done, protests of both sides are our American right. If the man did his research he would find it isn't a racist issue with KR at all....more of a Rebel attitude. BTW, this news has now gone National & I believe maybe an organized protest against him representing the other side is very suitable.
