Summer event season is in full swing in the Quad City area. And as the events go on, so does severe weather.
Event organizers must plan for any possible weather conditions. Burlington Steamboat Days President and Des Moines County Sheriff, Mike Johnson, said organizers run through exercises with emergency management crews.
"We think of all possible scenarios that could happen at Steamboat Days," he said.

~ my vote ... give to those who've already given ... and put some warmth in their hearts :) The elderly, service men and women, the fans who got 'bilked', or maybe random draws for 2 additional people for those who've already purchased tickets :) personally, I'm hoping for another shot for 2012 !!!

I really liked, "This is your Dick on drugs", of the picks chosen, that would of made it to the top for me. And, my new flourishing crush, VideoAce, I think should have at least made the list!! I wish you were going on the cruise too, there's still always hope!! Heck, if I we're the charitable kind, I'd say come with me!! But gotta "trade" it for cash (and, sorry, peeps this is not an open invitation, I can recoup going solo, and gotta say it's a lot of fun and hassle-free for sure!!)
Don't get me wrong, I can be very charitable, if not with money, with time well spent. For me, it's the elderly -- heck, I just was talking with two great guys this week -- George, a WWII vet that was in the thick of it from 42 - 45 and, Arnold, a auto engineer from, that's right, Sterling Heights, MI, he designed instrument panels! So, let's not forget those that have gone before, not only the heroes or brainiacs, but plane Janes and Joes that made their way through this thing called life, but are, at times, left alone and are lonely. BTW, pet therapy works wonders for kids and the elderly alike!! Hint, hint.

That would be so Awesome...we can't afford to do much right now either...my husband lost his job back in 2009 and got a new job but took a 33% pay cut which really sucks..but it could worse with so many still unemployed I guess we are lucky.

Well Mrs Cedar you never know. A little chatter sometimes makes ppl in positions of power think. I post on another message board and strangely enough some of my ideas have turned to reality. Like before Cruefest i said why doesn't Motley put together something like Ozzy does? I say shit on there about things like that and at times it becomes reality.
I don't think it is a bad idea for Kid Rock to consider putting up a contest on here and giving away tickets to the faithful. Would it really cut into the bottom line? Would be up to him how many and shit like that and what the contest was based on etc. But why not. People who come here sure the hell are fans and they would be the ppl to appreciate it more then some slob who heard it on the radio and doesn't even give a fuck about Kid Rock but would love a free cruise. And not just a contest for the Kid Rock Congregation. I mean not everybody who comes here can afford to pay membership for this or that. Doesn't make them any less of a fan....
