Summer event season is in full swing in the Quad City area. And as the events go on, so does severe weather.
Event organizers must plan for any possible weather conditions. Burlington Steamboat Days President and Des Moines County Sheriff, Mike Johnson, said organizers run through exercises with emergency management crews.
"We think of all possible scenarios that could happen at Steamboat Days," he said.

Thanks guys for all your hard work, taking time away from your family and friends to come and see us in good ole North Carolina! It was great and I had an awesome time. Can't wait to do it again!!! Hey! Cool to find a Greensboro posting!! EVERYTHING about the show was off the hook! I had bruises on both knees from dancing...lol. Lots of moments were burned into my memory but one large one is when he did Only God Know Why with the wah wah thing, up on the big screen you could see him working it with his tounge. Hands down, one of rocks BEST performers, and oh, so talented! From my view, when he did Born Free and the piano rose up, it looked like he was on fire! Freakin awesome. He's freaky in all the right ways. Really liked when he did Care with his backup singer too. But when he came out shirtless...well, I was ready to tear the house down with every other red blooded woman!
FREAKIN AWESOME.. i made my way to the floor and was dancing my hiney off, when i looked up and grabbed this guy and said.. hey i remember you i met you on the cruise your Ty Stone.. he grinned and walked on.. if it wasnt him it was his twin.. that was one of the singers kid had on the cruise ship.. so all you people wanting to meet kid and the band.. get on the cruise for next year if he has one after this one.. you think gboro was a party.. get on that boat.. the only thing left on my agenda is to see him in detroit.. and make my way to the made in detroit store where Tony sells all those killer clothes.. well people life cant get no sweeter than bein at a kid rock show.. unless maybe you got backstage passes.. and that would just be sugar on top..
