Where have all the COWBOYS gone?
    Dawn says (16 Feb '11)

Through his music, antics, and heart-driven actions, Kid Rock inspires a lot of people to do a lot of things. In my case, I wrote a 300-page novel. It took four years - FOUR YEARS! - and cost me my writers' group, a few friends, and nearly broke up my 20-year marriage...TWICE. But I didn't quit. Because Kid Rock didn't quit. And, although it's not published yet (which means I'm not here selling anything), I have faith it will be. Because I have faith in cowboys...

"Some people have John Lennon. Others Willie Nelson. In my search for someone to pattern my life after, I stumbled onto a guy named Bob. / Our heroes give us ideals and values to believe in—to worship—no matter what we were taught in Sunday School or think we know about God. I was thirty years old when I heard “Cowboy” on the radio. It was catchy and raunchy. The lyrics were bold, and Rock’s delivery was full of grit and attitude. I became an instant fan. / In Bob “Kid Rock” Ritchie, I recognized a brand of determination I always wished I’d had, and behind the balls was solid talent. He had an ear for what people needed to hear, an instinct for marketing, and a reputation only Hugh Hefner could rival. I wanted to know him. Hell, I wanted to be him. He represented everything I’d been in Daytona, before [I married] Katie, and everything I strived to be in both my marriage and in my job: as good as the hype." [Excerpt from CHASING KID ROCK]

THAT is how I express the Kid Rock in me.
