I found a shirt the other day that said "PETA People for the Eating of Tasty Animals. All of God's creatures have their place. Next to my mashed potatoes. I had to get that shirt.
If an animal was killed JUST for their fur and not for food - that's IMMORAL!!!! Anything made from cowhide or other food animals is justifiable - using every part of the animal at least shows some respect for it's life... but fox, chinchilla, mink, beaver, lynx? That's pretty despicable to order it's death so you can LOOK PRETTY wearing a dead animal!!
now don't go saying I am bad for raising beef and milking cows... im a rancher and a cowgirl have been most of my life and people have to eat..without protein your body makes FAT. 17 day diet although i havent had any beef products yet on it Its a good deal and i love the book.
I agree 100% Jade Something alot of NON RURAL peeps dont realize is that if you kill an animal in a painful way, adrenalyn will rush into the tissues causeing the meat to be tough as nails. Almost all packing plants want the cattle For instance to be calm and happy when heading to the great beyond.
The happier and healthier the animal, the better quality of your product. So Buy organic when possible and wear Natural products, Not something that will take 500 yrs to breakdown and dump nasty toxins into our atmosphere. Ok done with rant. ps deer taste like poop except in Jerky

As a tree-hugging, bleeding heart, freakishly lefty liberal who was vegetarian for 20 years... I gotta say, Angel... you're absolutely right: FUCK PETA. While I don't go for the mistreatment of animals and just straight up cruelty, PETA gets fixated on stupid stuff that distracts people and waters down the message that they should be fighting over. On one hand the minutiae that they spend endless hours and time over (that isn't even about animals being mistreated are harmed) and on the other hand their violent and aggressive tactics, often aimed at the wrong people, just turn people off. They should go fuck themselves, they give liberals like me a bad name.
(and one of the reasons I stopped being vegan was because I have nerve damage in one of my feet from synthetic shoes, and so I went back to wearing leather... bacon followed shortly thereafter! lol)
I never had a problem with hunters who kill and eat food. I have way more problems with aggressive factory farming with chemicals and packed tight cages and shit like that. I hope people don't wear endangered species... there are plenty of other animals to eat and wear. like deer... those fuckers are eating my garden, lets all start wearing deer skins...

Thanks Jade. Didn't think anyone would answer. Someone told me the other day they had to kill 40 some white foxes to get that coat. I said Bull s--t. First of all white foxes are very rare and I don't think the Kid would put out a bounty on any animal just for a coat. There is someone out there that just wants to trash the Kid. Not in my house. Again thanks for the answer.
my understanding is that they are real, and he's fended off attacks from the animal rights folks for years. It seems he wears less now and I think the attacks have died down.
