Where I grew up, there were no rich people. No bankers, no rightwing titans ranting the poor were lazy and the government was taking all their hard-earned money. Some dads worked for the electric company, others sold insurance or held blue-collar jobs.
Shame on the scalpers but tickets started at $100 for nose bleed seats! Who's the real crook here?
That is not the guy who sold me the 4 bogus tix so there is more than 1 guy out there. Yes, I filed my police report this past Sunday in Sterling Heights. If the same happened to you, please FILE. OCJ is a nice place for this scumbag to spend his free time.
FERNDALE A Warren man is accused of selling counterfeit tickets to last weeks Kid Rock concert to a man through Craigslist.
Police said the buyer wrote down the suspects license plate number after buying the bogus tickets from him Friday in Ferndale.
Justin Gnesotto, 26, was charged Wednesday in Ferndale 43rd District Court with a one-year misdemeanor of false pretenses under $1,000. His bond was set at $5,000/ 10 percent.
Ferndale police said they believe Gnesotto was involved in other counterfeit ticket sales and are working with investigators in Troy, Clinton Township, Sterling Heights and Roseville where other ticket buyers were duped.
A spokesman for concert promoter Live Nation said this week that hundreds of people bought bogus tickets on Craiglist for Kid Rocks Guess Im Frickin 40 concert Saturday at Ford Field in Detroit. The concert reportedly sold out within 19 minutes after it was announced.
We believe this suspect was involved in other counterfeit ticket sales besides the one reported in Ferndale, said Ferndale Police Lt. William Wilson. We are looking for other people who may have been scammed by the suspect and are asking them to contact the police agency in the city where the ticket sales took place.
Gnesotto is accused of selling two counterfeit tickets for $300 to a Farmington man, 40. The two men met at the McDonalds restaurant on Woodward in Ferndale on Friday after the buyer contacted Gnesotto, police said.
The victim responded to a Craigslist add for Kid Rock tickets and called the phone number of the person selling them, Wilson said. The buyer noticed the suspect was driving a Chevy Silverado pickup truck and wrote down the license plate number when he showed up.
When the Farmington man went to Saturdays concert and presented the tickets he bought from Gnesotto, police said, the tickets were confiscated at the gate.
Police said they used Gnesottos license plate number to learn his identity and the ticket buyer id
so sad to hear this what was supposed to be a lifetime experience for you all were dashed how unfeeling of this Guy...its just awful it makes me so sad inside....
How sad is that?? sheeeeeeeeesh Ive heard of so many people getting ripped off from a guy on craigslist...hope they get the scumbag!!
Sure would be nice if Kid offered us that were scammed, tickets to another show...I'm just sayin'....:)
I agree kidrockangel..
I just want to say that I read a report off of Live Nation. The tickets that most of us bought were from people claiming they couldn't make the show because of prior engagements. We weren't buying from scalpers! That's just an FYI. We thought we were buying tickets from individuals. If anything their should be a limit on how many tickets can be sold to each person. It's kind of hard to buy tickets to a show when it sells out in 20 minutes!
Federal laws need to be changed so that NO tickets can be sold for over Face value.
It would solve everything if all tickets had to be purchased with a credit card and the credit card they were purchased with had to be slid thru a ticket kiosk at the gate. just like at the movie theatre when u buy a ticket online. I believe this would put all brokers and scalpers out of biz....
We were also scammed by these guys. $300 for the tix. McDonalds @ 11 & VanDyke is where we met him! Someone just e-mailed me with the plate number in question. They gave me the guys name & address. And I heard the police have a suspect in custody....Not sure what city they caught him in or if it's true though. I kind of want to blast this and post his name & address!
I was blown away by it too . I have talked to over a dozen victims myself today . We are all as equally pissed. I am doing all I can as one person to make noise. I will not let this blow over. I know how hard I work for my money to let some guy do this to us!
police turning reports away...hmmm...they can't do that each individual scam is separate until they know for sure its same person to bring it to the $$$ levels to make it federal. Hmmm sounds to me someone has the capability of making this so this don't make the papers to ruin his scene and it will all go away and blow over
Keep making noise! This guy needs to be stopped . Some police stations are turning reports away because they want them to report it to a Fed level. He met us all in public spots he is on film somewhere! The best place to start is filing a report. Call Fox 2,Channel 4 and the Detroit News tonight before the story is finished .
I'm with ya...whatever we can do to help...please post!
