There's no reason to work for the man in this wonderful country of ours. Just met with my husbands , now my business partner to go over the details of the new company . He and my spouse ave been working on patents for sometime and he's has quite a few and other ventures and seeing how he has some free time now we decided upon our venture of passive income bringing in about 15 g a day to start. I'm gonna be busy doing the marketing portion since I have all the contacts until it gets going and off the ground and then well, fishing, writing a few songs.
"Harassing, rude, and invasive" ? Hardly. I could have been those things, but I was not. I was over this days ago, but I cant get over how KR's shit dont stink on this site.
He does not owe me anything, that you are correct. But the same way I owe you, or anyone I meet, as a human being, not to be a complete ass hat to people I have contact with regardless of fame. IF someone asked me for change on the street and I belittled him, called him an ass, told him he was bothering me, and said go get a job. Would that not have been unnecessary? Of course it would, the proper response is sorry man I dont have anything.
Everyone is so quick to say he is just a regular person trying to live a regular life, but for some reason he can go thru that life and treat everyone he meets like shit!
oh for christ sake, get a hold of yourself already! You are basically claiming that you and everyone else can be as harassing and as rude and as invasive as you all want to be and he, as a famous person, owes you politeness is idiotic. He owes you squat. he makes music and performs, fans enjoy it. THAT is the relationship between the famous person and the fan base. He does not have to give over his private time to the stalkers.
If people were harassing me every time I walked out in public, I'd be a hell of a lot more rude than he was.
the fact that you don't get that is pathetic. I am done with this conversation, you're just trolling a this point.
"Yeah They Were Fans But More importantly They were mostly his personal friends. They got to be his friends by not bugging him"
LOL, best post yet. Seriously pull your head out of KR's ass for a second. Nothing would change your opinion, KR could burn babies and you would be like, well the baby shouldnt have bothered him. Your going with the statement that "they" got to be his "friends" by not bugging him.... Thats an awesome line, almost as if you have any clue, but yeah, that makes sense!
Being famous does not give you the right to be a flat out jerk to someone, sorry you cant understand that. And if "peeps" like me ruin his life, well you cant be much more of a fan than I am so he must be screwed. Get a hold of yourself already.....
Yes I for one and dang proud of the Chillin the Most Alumni... Theres gonna be so many things to do on the Boat me and MR.50 cannot Wait...we got a ROOM with NO VIEW ;)
i cant see the photos and think ignorance sometimes is bliss ~
Jade you also have very good points and I agree with alot of them... He should be able to just have a real moment without hey thats kidrock yets see what he can give us? what in the holy god sakes is wrong with just standing there and having a smoke with the man and having a Real moment with someone? who cares if ya don't have proof to the masses? you know it , he may remember it and thats what ya can take away from it... I was once asked for a autograph back in the 90's mistakenly recognised to be somebody else even after I explained NOPE not that girl...so my girlfriend that was with me said YOU CAN'T sign her name so I signed a sloppy Elmer T Fudd and ran like hell... ;)
"I dont think he invites people back to his house, unless for that show, in which who knows if they were real fans or staged for that matter. But how awesome would that be!"
Yeah They Were Fans But More importantly They were mostly his personal friends. They got to be his friends by not bugging him. Im sorry buddy, But calling him an asshole on his website after you got your autograph is just ridiculous. If you would have posted an apology for interupting him and saying hey but thanks for signing anyway. That would have been cool but no.... Hate to be harsh but peeps like you ruin it for all of us.
he probably invites people back to his house if they got big ole triple Ds and a nice tight ass. just sayin'.
Thanks Beckxy for pointing out that card... I actually didn't look at it closely before. yes, it CLEARLY says it all. the idea of the same person who is complaining about KR being unapproachable also hanging that card is pretty hilarious.
I dont think he invites people back to his house, unless for that show, in which who knows if they were real fans or staged for that matter. But how awesome would that be!
As for the dollar bill, I actually saw him there before, and I didnt ask for his autograph. He sat at the table RIGHT next to us about a month ago. He was with his GF again and an older man I assume was his father. After that I bought the dollar thinking it was a long shot if I ever see him again but I would love to have it signed. So yes, I did go there with the dollar bill for that purpose, but the food is amazing and didnt think we would see him again. I am batting 1.000 being there twice and seeing him twice!
The Card rocks and definitely says it all. and Yep Becx, You hit the nail on the head with that one.
Quite obviously Steele went to Clarkston with the intent of getting an autograph..
Just like on the boat, he made it clear. give me my space, leave me alone and I will come to you.
Pompous makes me laugh. He's the fuckin American Badass. With an ego the size of The Grand Canyon. and hes told you a million times. If you dont like it SUCK ON THIS!!!
I don't have a clue, Steele, I thought these were the manager's cards.
But the real question is.... how many fans do you know that go out for dinner/drink with a Kid Rock dollar bill in their pocket. We all know he loves his fans.. but I feel he hopes they'd respect his privacy... and is probably the reason why you got the not-so happy Bobby.
I would imagine it's a poppin place and business is good.
I get a kick outta the card.. thanks for sharing.
Has he not been known to go to that same bar and invite the whole place back to his house for bonfires and parties? Playing it cool and maybe getting to party with rock would beat an autograph any day.
pompous? Maybe. Funny? YES
Beckxy: really? I think the card makes him look very pompous. How many famous people you think have staff carry around business cards that say if you dont leave him alone he will leave
I think the card says it all
Dannyntammy:
Im over it as well, I'm happy with my autograph. But, I agree that his "image" is that he is approachable, a man of the people if you will. Seems like a nice guy (maybe he is) that will hang with his fans.
Funny my wife was talking to her friend, she was like OMG I ran into him too, and he was a jerk to me too! I dont hold it against the guy, I like him for his music, not him as a person.... just seems like he is a nice guy when the camera is on.
I understand where you are comming from Steele, I asked for a quck picture, and he just walked by me. I normally would not ask to get a picture with someone famous, because I am sure that it must suck to be approached all the time. The reason I did this time, was because I just watched Born Free a few days before this and he said that he likes to think he is "approachable" by his fans, so I thought it would be ok. I was real bumbed for a little bit, but I am over it now, and still am just as big as a fan.
Bossy, who is KR's body guard & security guy, started a public blog recently, and what he posted yesterday is hugely relevant to this discussion. He is talking about how people like KR get screwed and scammed into situations that they didn't agree to, and how that ends up screwing the fans & making the famous person look bad. Bossy says it way better than I'm saying it, so read his words of wisdom:

Steele, you didn't profit off of your autograph, you enjoy it and I'd love to see a picture of it. I don't blame anyone in the entertainment industry for at least wondering if their autographs are going to end up being sold. Back in the early 90' we lived in Dallas, after the Cowboys won some superbowls (something I may never see now that I'm back home in Michigan), Troy Aikman wrote a childrens book. I stood in line w/ my 5 year old son for 2 hours to get an autographed copy, Troy Aikman was so kind to my son, even gave him a hug. My son took the book in for show and tell and it was stolen, lesson learned, I should have brought it in, let him show it, and tell it then brought it home. The point being, autographs that you keep and frame or cherish in a book are special, but for God's sake don't sell them.
I had my dollar bill framed with the bad ass beer coaster from the restaurant and it is hanging in my basement. It looks awesome.
I dont get it either I mean if you have a bar or are a huge colector. I guess but other than selling them for big bucks....why?
Well put Jade, I'm. I'm a fan of his music, not his handwriting.
I *hate* people taking pics of me without my permission. its incredibly rude, and I've told people that before. I'd never think to do that to someone else.
I do not understand how some people (Gramma and others, I'm looking at you here) could possible think that every waking moment of a famous person's life should be handed over to fans. Its incredibly selfish. A fan may think its just a couple of minutes they're asking for, but for the famous person its a constant~ everyone wants a piece of him (or his family and friends). Leave him alone, enjoy the music and wait for events set up as meet & greets to try and get near him. otherwise, back off.
and honestly, what do people do with autographs? I don't get the scribles on pieces of paper being important, but thats probably a whole other topic.
Um just for future reference, Its never a good idea to take Bob's pic without asking and in an appropriate setting......Woo Doggie. Not good!!!!
maybe he embraces the photos cause in all reality WHO on ebay is gonna want a photo of somebody else with Bob? I yhink thats a better approah if your his true fan anyway...the stuff I got isn't gonna go to ANYBODY but my grandson so he can after I am gone...think wow I had a nifty grandma that could ROCK OUT *
I understand you and I understand Kid Rock.
None of you should be judged. Of course fans like you made him to what he is and he should know that.
However, he is just a man. And I understand that he just wants to live like anyone else sometimes.
Therefore, don't be mad. Just move on. Sometimes we have to forgive to understand.
I am sure he did not mean it personally.
Merry X-Mas.
WOW lol I think Gramma needs a nap!!! lol
Life can sometimes be disappointing.... seems to me that it's disappointing for Kid Rock to have fans that bother him all the time for autographs and pictures.. and cant blame the man.. remember these lyrics "I wish I had that life, I bet you wish you had mine" uhhh.. no Bob.. I'm totally content, thanks...lol
As a long time fan... I don't know how many times I've read ppl's posts about their disappointment in which their encounter with Kid Rock wasn't a very nice one, and went on to say that it was because they asked for a picture or autograph. Even as far back as the KRAA days, ppl would piss and moan about this stuff... which made it pretty clear that if there would ever be a time I'd run into the guy... I'd know not to ask for this stuff. I wish I could say the same for my other half, as he likes asking and it bothers me to no end ~different strokes for different folks, I guess.. and sadly I can't control my husband..lol~.. but For me... I'd rather see a smile from his face and a nod hello.. then to piss the guy off... I would never want to do something to disrespect their time and privacy. Perhaps this was a lesson learned, a sacrifice as far as any new fans that will read this and learn from it, and it's nice to know you can shake it off, and that you are still fans, hopefully you'll get another chance to make things right someday after your disappointment fades.
Well, I always try not to get involved in these discussions...but, Steele I think I would have told him, "that's fine have your 3 seconds, but after that let me bend over so you can kiss my ass and sign it too cuz if it weren't for ppl like me, ppl like you woundn't have a damn job"! Ok enuf said.
Pickney- I posted to share my disappointing experience with Kid Rock, it had nothing to do with if he signed or not. Same as people posting about their disappointment with not being able to get tickets, or how happy they were that they did.
Listen, I understand someone wanting to be left alone. So, he could have easily just said hey guys Im busy, sorry I cant sign right now. There was only him and us four, not like a ton of people. I would have said no problem I understand and left him alone. After he signed we (all six of us, his friend came out) stood outside for another 10 minutes to smoke. He was chatting with his friend, we were chatting amongst ourselves.
This is not about if you should or should not approach a celebrity, everyone is going to have a different opinion on that, and that is fine. I was disappointed on how he acted. Wither he likes it or not, he is who he is, and people will always "bother" him. If I was a celebrity I would try to be kind as too keep any fans I have, if someone was being a total ass to me of course I would be back, however that was not the case at all. Like I said if he declined, but was normal about it, no big deal.
No need to keep posting everyone, just wanted to share my experience, thats all.
