Now get in the pit and try to love someone.
Hello everybody, I just got done reading Bob's post on the main page and had to come see what all the fuss was about. Seems people are losing their minds and blaming everyone but themselves for the fact they did not get good tickets for the Ford Field show, or whatever show they are looking to go to.
Listen, I know most of you have got to be fans of sports, probably Nascar? Maybe Horseshoes? Lawn Darts? I am sure most of you are fans of other music acts? I am positive that having an issue getting tickets is not a new thing, correct? Yea, as usual, I am correct. No if, ands, or buts, or even butts.
When something happens in life that does not go your way, do you take your toys and go home? Do you throw a fit in your front yard and run into your basement and pout? When life gives you lemons, squeeze them motherfuckers and make some lemonade.
Where there is a will, there is a way. For Instance, if you were able to make a really creative Bad Ass Bottle Costume, even better, a 6 pack of bas ass beer costume, got to the show early enough, (it's Detroit people, security is not the birghtest) and told them you were working, you might just get in.
If that doesn't work, maybe you dress up as William Clay Ford, the owner of the building. He resembles Yoda, do your best make up job, show up and watch them say, THATS THE BOSS, let him in.
Sometimes you gotta be creative, sometimes you gotta think ahead of the curve. Like I said, Where there is a will, there is way. If you are not creative enough, here is a simple remedy, WAIT IT OUT. The closer the date of the show comes, the lower the prices go. If you have the nerves (THIS IS THE BEST WAY PAY ATTENTION) do not buy a ticket at all, and go down toward Ford Field or any venue the day of the show, join the party, drink a few, buddy up with some peeps, and wait for people to pass out, offer to buy their ticket from a friend, ad u will usually get a face value or lower.
Patience is the key, but I urge you to not KNOCK THE HUSTLE. For every scam artist out there, there is someone who is selling or scalping tickets to put food on their families tables, or to keep lights on in their homes.
God Bless You All..

Happy Birthday Kev!
You got a line on some lawn darts, not the plastic chit?
Kev,
Thank you so much for a great laugh! Reality check for all! I remember back in the day having to wait in line (sometimes camping out over nite) for tickets!!! Then Ticketmaster decided to do "Lottery picks". Jimmy Buffett tickets were always the most nerve racking of all! There would be 3 of us (all with money) to buy 8 tickets a peice, in the front of the line only to draw a damn number in the back! We would take the closest ticket and go from there! Honestly, I don't miss those days of waiting hours on end for any kind of tickets! I do agree with Bobby...I hate scalpers! One tried to sell me a ticket to a Kiss concert for over $700 in the nosebleed section! Told him to fuck off! I didn't want to see anybody that damn bad! For that price I can be on the boat! Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Tracie Lynn
I gotta start working on my Badass Bottle costume...
Kev...I am so glad you became the voice of Reason..someone had to step up... I am alittle amased he is including his fans on his Birthday...how many artists do you know do this for thier fans? It is awesome. Many will not get to go... I hope all that go have the best time. I know of one that has had a tough month that is going and this will be the good medicine for her. Sometimes in life ya have to save up for something ya want..I did and I'm sure all of you did...if ya can't make this one CHOOSE another save your nickles, dimes and pennys... with the vastness of being a star of this magnitude how could you keep your finger in all of it? I will say though you gotta have people that take what they do seroiusly, improving and growing... and as you see he seen where something is a miss and is trying to fix it... I hope he can figure out a way that scaplers , ticketmaster and all those other sites will get the downlow on how Kidrock wants his tickets sold or don't allow them to sell your tickets . theres a solution out there...the post about how the grateful dead sold thier tickets might be a start to the solution...sometimes with the new technology ya have to go back before there was all this computer stuff and the trickery that sometimes involve it.
lmfao! Nice post Kev... :-)
I agree, thanks for the laugh!! I enjoy reading your posts.
I love this post! Nice and sweet as pie! Telling it like it is and keeping it real! HUGS!
No it isn't a new thing. Especially with very big acts. I have tired to get tickets to a few shows you got like 15 minutes or they are gone. Bostonba has some very good advice, that does happen often. As you get closer to show time orders get canceled or sold. I had tickets to see Kenny Chesney, 20th row from the stage a couple years ago. I bought them when they went on sale, ended up having surgery and sold them at face value since I couldn't go.
I'll be patiently waiting for the Columbus, OH onsale to happen Friday :-) I would have liked to go to his Birthday Bash but decided to hit a show closer to home.
That was so funny! Thanks for the laugh!
I want to drink some BADASS beer
I am gonna find scalpers, beat them up, and come here and hold cool contests for people to win tickets. I like to see fans get to go to shows. I understand the frustration, I really do, but like I said, there are ways, and things always work out. There will be people here who got tickets for shows, and will offer them for sale here. They will keep em reasonable, Maybe we could add a a stun hub like section to the site where fans can sell to fans, and keep the prices at face value. I am brain storming.
Well said, 2 TRUE STORIES that illustrate your point.
1. Saw Kid at Foxwoods in Feb. 09. Tickets were sold out. I live about 2 hrs from Foxwoods and, knowing there are no laws at Foxwoods and they sometimes release tickets the day of the show, I headed down there without tickets. On the way, I called every 10 minutes asking if any tickets were available. After about 10 tries, tickets were available, 5 rows from the stage dead center. Best seats I've ever had at a concert, and paid face value.
2. Same deal, Mohegan Sun (These are casinos in CT he plays in the winter) in January. Sold out, needed 2 tickets, found one on craigslist, face value, bought the other for $20 BELOW face value 10 mins before the show started. Made a trade once I got in there and enjoyed the show with 2 seats side by side.
It sucks that this is what buying tickets for concerts has come to, but if you put a little effort into it, you can always get in the door at a reasonable price, no matter how big the demand is. If anyone needs any tips let me know.
