@connielynn77 RUDE? NO JUST ONE HARDCORE FANS OPINION. BUT HEY YOU CAN NOT ASK OR QUESTION ANYTHING JUST DRINK THE KOOL AID EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE
I am totally confused why someone would come onto the FAN CLUB and express such negative opinions. Yes, you are entitled to your own opinions, but you had to know that you would be hit right back with rude comments from satisfied fans. Many of us have been with Kid for years and have actually matured with him through the years and appreciate a mellow side (yet still love to Rock along wright with him). The new album shows one more way in which he is incredibly talented and versatile.
Kev and Angel what is your view I think with kidrocks and tbt's success how he can write the songs that matter to him...just him...Rick Rubin seemed very happy he did it... a songwriter usually taps into experiences hes had and what they took away from it...most songs if ya are lucky enough to ask the artist when a song came past thier desk or they wrote it themselves stuck a cord with them...Loved the fact he wrote about Joe C...(never met him) but seen video things and he seemed like a true blue friend and I think BOB was Lucky to meet such a genuinely kind soul..I met some people on here true at first I did not appreciate them..but like a fine raspberry wine they grow on ya...sometimes it takes some time to realise the frendship they are offering. right? I have this friend like most natives go by at least two names AND I detested her and then something happens that makes ya fall down and bawl and I looked up and there was Ninja

I got a grip I just don't like what the dude has put out simple as that."
Ok Thats cool! Nobuddy likes Everything he puts out.... Thank Goodness there are 9 other albums, bootlegs, live show tapes, covers, guest appearances on other artist albums........ Something for everyone!!!
You indicate with your post that he put this out to sell records. Most of the reviews think he went out on a limb instead of putting out same ol Kid Rock music to sell records. he's very good at writing Sugar's and So Hott's. He can do that with his eyes closed and sell shitloads of them. But this time he stepped it up and wrote In Times like these, Rock on and Born free.
I have read literally Thousands of comments on this album. And for the most part the biggest problem peeps have is not that the songs arent good but the way they were arranged and produced make them all sound to much alike. What Rubin refers to as continuity. Thats NOT KID ROCK..... Now We hard core fans KNOW that once he gets these songs on Stage, they arent going to sound just like the album. They never do. he always changes them up. Once the rubin Filter comes off. Some of these songs are gonna Rock.
I'm sorry I stooped to calling you names, You just irritate the piss outta me. lol
Kid Rock is the opposite of Sell Out whatever the hell that is. I mean he literally gave this album away.
Kev no need for name calling. dejected? possibly. obsessed moron? certainly not. I got a grip I just don't like what the dude has put out simple as that.
OK Todd, we get it, you do not like the new album.
However, you are now crossing a line from dejected fan, to obsessed moron.
Kid Rock has been int he industry for quite a few years now, he has made a pretty good amount of money, and I am pretty sure ALBUM SALES mean absolutely nothing to him. I remember Rock n Roll Jesus' release. It was right around the same time as Kanye and 50 Cent were popping off about who was gonna sell more the first week. While they worried about that first week, Kid Rock went on to outsell both of them in the long run. Guess What????????
People were saying alot of the same shit about Rock N Roll Jesus, as you are saying about Born Free, It goes back to Kid Rock's saying If its real, you will feel it. The easy way for Kid Rock to sell albums would have been for him to release a single with some of the old school American Bad Ass Kid Rock shit, and then had the consumers running to buy the album. There is no tricks or treats in music anymore, he made the album he made, let you listen to it (test drive) and if you buy it, you buy it, if not, oh well.
Kid Rock is an entertainer, he is a musician, he is an established ROCK STAR. He cannot make everyone happy, but he has earned the ability to make himself happy. I think this album tested him, it took him to levels he has never really been, and he created a solid album of TIMELESS music. The music and lyrics on this album are incredible today, would have been incredible 20 years ago, and will be incredible 20 years from now. Kid Rock is Kid Rock, he will be in the studio jamming again soon I am sure, he always seems to do what people say he cannot do, or will not do.
Get a grip dude
i'm sure i'll love it , gonna buy it tomorrow. my fav is cocky i love to work out to it. i like the hard stuff.

"Hope I am not attacking him I love kid rock I am saying as a consumer of his latest album I am bored."
ok, Todd. fair enough. That is an opinion I can talk about. (as opposed to the sellout stuff) Is it the slow style of the music or the serious lyrics that bore you? Is it the production value or the pacing of the CD?
I for one would have preferred some of the more varied pacing on the CD that KR has always managed in the past. I do like the songs but the the CD seems constrained to me, forced into a tight little band of music. I have heard a few other versions of these songs on youtube, and even though they are just fan vids of live performances, I think I'd have really liked some of those versions on this CD.
but then again, I love the serious tone of all this new music. I'm a serious kinda person.
Todd, I really can relate in a way... I got all excited a few months back over the new "Slash" CD, and was really disappointed. Love the old G-N-R, and love how Slash rips the guitar up. While listening, it seemed almost like he was using old rifs with new lyrics. Guess nothing can replace the real, old, G-N-R for me, but still love Slash :-)
For me, this new CD seems to get better, and deeper each time I listen to it. I hear so much variety in there. I was listening to it on my way to work this morning, thinking how much it sounded like some kind of Vietnam era rock, especially "born free." In my mind I can almost see the hippies of that day rocking out to that song. :-) My favorite is "rock on" so far, and I love "god bless saterday" too.
Hope I am not attacking him I love kid rock I am saying as a consumer of his latest album I am bored.
Thank you Angel and Jade!!! :-)
By the way Todd, you can just call me "Hope" like everyone else does. Yes, this is an open forum for fans. Yes, you have freedom of speech. It just seems odd to me, all this hater nonsense, that is all I was trying to say. Maybe you could start a hater club? That way we fans can get on with the real critical discussions about the music, as Jade suggests. The personal attacks against KR for producing, what I hear on the CD as old school rock, just seems out of place. JMO
amen Jade. And whats even worse, Is most the peeps bitchin, (cause they live in a country where they can) lol would prolly like the album if it were made by anyone but kid Rock. Because we all know when he was 20, he screamed he would never make mainstream music...... Gimmee a break, when I was 20 i swore i would never get married and have babies. Whatever....lol I grew up and found out men werent so bad. lol
Stop the put downs and name callin, it make you look jealous and stupid.
Angel said: "You know, Its one thing to say "I dont care for the album and Im bummed it wasn't harder" But to continually post, calling Rock a sell out, loser, etc. Thats just looking for attention and destroys your credibility. To be Honest , Im so sick of the name calling and constant put downs, I almost wish Rock would put out 10 real country albums... lol Im kidding but still."
this is the absolute truth. the idea of "sellout" is being twisted into such odd ways for these discussions. I love having critical discussions of the music & art, but I hate these personal attacks.
I also just get tired of the "I love this" or "I hate this" posts. Why do you love or hate it? what moves you? what about the music got you to that point? what are your other references? I wish people would talk about he music like they've thought about it (and I know they have) and leave the man and his family out of it.
Hope Errin Edwards- Yeah I am so out of line to come to a forum and discuss things ..wow how inappropriate of me. Angel I am glad you dig his album along with millions of others, I don't and thats cool. like Clayton said who wants to see a guy on a bar stool for a 100 bucks?mjkwu a grammer lesson really...shut up. I am very ok with a band changing things up I just want some punch to feel it from someone like Kid Rock. Thats what makes this country so great we are all "Born Free" to say what we want. You NO what I mean?
Wouldn't he be a sell out if he put out the same type of music every time because it worked. To me that would just show that he was just doing it for the almighty $$$. This album is different, but that's what is so cool about it. If that is all he ever did, make the same type of music, wouldn't it get boring? I love that the new album is different than the rest. I love all of the old and the new music. I like that he is expanding as an artist.
BTW, TODD THE ROCK GOD this is my first time posting and maybe it is common but, you used the wrong "KNOW", It should be "I ain't NO sellout" The "NO" you used is for saying that you actually "KNOW" something....
No Erin, what hes saying is if Rock doesnt put out the music that tard likes, he must be a sell out. Fuck the other million fans that happen to appreciate Classic Rock, Blues and country. lol Kid Rock only belongs to them. He shouldnt make music for the rest of us.
And its common knowledge that WE only like it because we are crazy stans who like everything Bob does. It couldnt possible be that we have a broader appreciation for music and well written songs.
You know, Its one thing to say "I dont care for the album and Im bummed it wasn't harder" But to continually post, calling Rock a sell out, loser, etc. Thats just looking for attention and destroys your credibility. To be Honest , Im so sick of the name calling and constant put downs, I almost wish Rock would put out 10 real country albums... lol Im kidding but still.
I am a fan as much as you are and whooptie, he wrote one album that gives us a broader genre. he has always liked, Seger and Hank Jr, etc. That doesnt make him a sell out. AND THIS ALBUM makes ME ROCK.
Ok, so you don't like the new CD. You definately have that right. May I ask, why it is that you are on the KR fansite? Just seems a litte strange to me. There are thousands of people here who enjoy this CD, as well as his previous releases. You come on his fansite just to bitch? People change as they get older, or are you the same person that you were when you were 12 years old? That doesn't make KR or anyone else a "sell out."
I probably didnt say it clearly before about kid not being a sell out. All I meant was that if he was a sell out then how come he is still selling out his concerts, i know many other bands sell out in record times I am not stupid.
I still say he is not a seel out and is just evolving like a fine wine and only gets better wth age.
My comment should have been written slightly differently so i am sorry.
Kid Rock is certainly not a sell out he is just evolving as he gets older, like the best wines in the world he is just getting better and better with age how long can someone go on with the heavey stuff he does of which i have to say that I an not a fan of but his latest stuff is fantastic. How many other artist sell out concert tickets within mins of them going on sale? so I dont think that many of his fans think him to be much of a sell out.
