Where I grew up, there were no rich people. No bankers, no rightwing titans ranting the poor were lazy and the government was taking all their hard-earned money. Some dads worked for the electric company, others sold insurance or held blue-collar jobs.
Just have to say... FRICKEN LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how Kid Rock presented the award tonight on the Billboard Music awards!!!!! That ROCKED and it was fricken awesome!!!!!! xoxoxoxoxox
I must have missed the email regarding moving my membership from the KRC to the new Rebel Soul fan site. I saw the updates today but can only login to here, the KRC. Is there a way to still make that transition? I want to be able to get presale tix for an upcoming show in Spokane, WA at the Northern Quest Casino?
YAY!! Double YAY!! Are you kidding? It's from the heart and you feel it, it's pure Kid, its versatile, it's awesome, it's genius...and really, it is nothing new for him, the Kid has been shifting gears throughout the years, that has kind of been his trademark...a blend of rap and rock with a twist of country and a whole lotta soul
Nay I have brought it to add to my collection of all his other CDs but like a few other people said it's not the kid rock I got in to. But will always be a fan and still see him tour an support my favourite artist.
It is definitely a YAY! It brings to mind what is going on in the world today both at home and abroad. It defines the freedoms we have and enjoy as well as the day to day conflicts people live with. It actually hits home. We have so many men and women from our state that are overseas guaranteeing our freedom not to mention those from other states. It speaks to the working class, working 9 to 5 or 7 to 3 or whatever your hours may be and how we all get by during the week and basically are living for the weekend. "God Bless Saturday" I like the interaction between Rock and the other artists on the new CD. It speaks to my heart and really makes me thankful for my kids, family and home and the right to actually be able to say that and not be persecuted. It reminds me of a dear lost brother-in-law (June 18, 2008 RIP CHRIS) and what life could have been for him if he had fell. Love you Kid Rock, keep on pumping out those hits!
People say things like maturity in his writing he's older and does not want to rap I am ok with that can I get a little somethin somthin like this please on the next album
definitely a yay. the words hit right at home with me. a true artist doesnt paint the same picture everytime he grabs a painbrush. i like that he's very diverse in his art.
NAY, musically it is not bad, however being a Kid Rock fan from the very beginning, I am very disappointed. There is not one rocking song on the CD. I do not have a problem with mixing an album up with, well basically country songs, but the whole damn album? There is a part of me that is so pissed because of this album. I became a fan because of his ability to write rock songs, and rocking rap songs, and rock ballads, and because of the first time I seen him blew my mind, it was a rocking show. This will be the first tour that I will not be attending. Sorry, but if I could take the CD back I would. At 41 I would rather ROCK !!!!!!!!!!
I have always been a HUGE Kid Rock fan, so I hate to say this, but big time NAY..... I kept hitting next track, just waiting to hear some loud guitar, or drums, or bass, or anything that let me know that he was about to let out a loud yell and start rapping at the top of his lungs. But sadly for the first time ever that didn't come.... I'm not asking for all rock/rap, but some would be nice. The last cd had a lot of soft stuff, but then there were the parts like the end of "Sugar" that let me know the devil without a cause was still in there somewhere. Not anymore...... "Slash and I smash cause I thrash when I bash. Invite me to a party and your house will get trashed". That would be Back from the Dead off of Polyfuse Method. What happened to that guy? Or the guy that sampled the Beastie Boys on "Pancake Breakfast", and actually made a song that sounded better than the original Rhymin and Stealin..... Kid Rock, you will always be the best, but please dude, next CD, atleast put one song on there that brings the old you back out.... Like I said, I still like your stuff, but there are a lot of other groups around with music that sounds just Born Free... Back in 99, there was only one Kid Rock, and that was that Kid Rock that made you who you are today. Please don't forget about the fans that loved that one...
Mr Rock, Enjoying the new CD very much, always grateful to hear "More". Guests, Sheryl and girls add something "extra nice". Can't ever get enough of "Mr Bones's piano"! Your Band sounds Great. Thank you for sharing "your stuff".
It would be awfully hard to pick a favorite. Warm Regards.
I vote YAY. . and the why is, because it is written and sang with such heart and soul.
So many of the songs ....( if you really listen to them) will reach out and grab you. I have cried, I have laughed and everything in between listening to this album. I love it!! And no I am not a newby to Kid rock , been a fan since 2000. He has something for any and every mood that you can go through.
The KID has a beautiful soul a true soul .... sit back and listen with more than your ears.
YAY....all the way!!! From the first time I listened beginning to end, I was LOVING IT!! We listened to it 3 times start to finish yesterday while hanging pics around the house and I can't get enough. This is the Kid Rock I love!!
I wanted to hear from all of you before I chimed in. Great answers all and I love the passion. That being said I just revisited Kid Rocks self titled album Kid Rock. What a great album and it had plenty of country, rock and ballads and managed to kick ass but yet still hold it's own. Sadly for me on this album I must say NAY. I am ok with growing up and changing but for me this is a sleepy no escape no fun album.
Yay I love it! Everyone said that Kid Rock and Cheryl Crow couldn't beat "Picture"...the critics weren't expecting Bob Seger to be thrown in the mix! In your face critics!!!
The new video, the scenery, the home, the child, who has grown, the love of life, the peace, the way its supposed to be, my taken, my world, my whole way of life... Thank you for reminding me============ that life and nature are the most important things EVER forever, the way life
's supposed to be, I love it I keep it, You know Ill never leave, the way that the way the way that you make me feel,,,,,, I hope to I hope to..... believe that what I do, Is for all that...... for all that , making me feel your love// look up now, look up now see me from above. you know that all see is you, when darkness is upon us and the warmth in the fire is shinin on you .....
YAY and YAY. Rock"N"Roll Kid. Keep with your heart and you soul and you can't go wrong. Love the new album. Love the blue eyes and the bod. Lookin good for a 39 year old rock star. Also loved the video with you at home and the bonfire. Said you were the happiest you've ever been and it showed. Rock on baby. again YAY. Wish you would come to Las Cruces, New Mexico to play. Yes we are in the United States. A college town. I would love to see just 1 of your shows live. Although I watch you on VH1 and MTV I can see you up close instead of way back in the crowd where you can't see any thing except other peoples heads.
Rox
YEA!
This album shows his versatility. He is still the one and only "American Bad Ass", and has shown all of us, once again, how good he really is. His writing has matured with his music, and he obviously was (and hopefully still is) in a very good place with his life.
Cannot wait to see him in Orlando, Memphis and on the Cruise!
ROCK ON!
Kirsten, Do you really think he will only do BF songs at a show. lol. he might do 4 or 5 and They will Rock those songs out, But he will always play the old stuff as well. Jus sayin
Nay - It all sounds like one long song aside of three tracks. Have any of you tried reading poetry? It too is full of emotion but the sound track is in your head. I do like three tracks a lot but as I stated before Todd, David Spade or Taylor Swift? I pick David Spade, but hey, something for everyone, right? I will always love Kid Rock and now my 11 year old will get to a Kid concert sooner than she thought.
I believe Born Free, as a single and the entire album will stand the test of time. It may sound morbid but Born Free, is on the list of music I want played at my funeral. Not that Im expecting the even to happen in the near future, but it dont hurt to make my wishes known. The song has heart and we have all made our choices in life that could have been better, but we own our choices, that is was makes us who we are. Bore free to be me, there is nothing better than that.
I say, "Yay". This album is a whole new twist from the Kid, but I like it. Most of the tunes seem to have a rhythm and blues edge to them...I feel a lot of the songs. Seems Kid Rock is expressing the life cycle changes he is experiencing. Growing up...I am older. I can truly relate to and feel many of the songs. The more I listen to the CD, it grows on me and the more I like it. My faves so far include, Collide, Rock ON, Care, When it rains, Slow my roll, and of course "Born Free". Can't wait to see him live again and hoping he will do some of his other classics too!
YAY!! Double YAY!! Are you kidding? nay..rock n roll jesus showed us that he can do other things,,i wish he would of went back to why we all fell in love with him.
YAY.. =)
Love it! It shows his true talents as an artist - versatility.
Nay, my thread vents my friustration enough but i agree entirely with all the 'nays'
YAY for sure!!! I love it...there really isn't any I don't like! Keep em coming
and so glad he did not call it American Circus...I was oh man hes too tall to be the Master of the Ring...lol...
Nay I have brought it to add to my collection of all his other CDs but like a few other people said it's not the kid rock I got in to. But will always be a fan and still see him tour an support my favourite artist.
