For me it was the first time in my lifeI learmed to say FU to everyone who didn't approve of me being unique, forward and open..No excuses, no apologies and no guilt...I was awaken that day and have never looked back.

Before, I didn't know that it was ok to do that...he showed me do it with pride and confidence and believe in who you are...thanks Bob, seriously! I just hate that my Catholic guilt held me back for 38 years! I always believed, but got shot down by what was proper and socially acceptable.

It had to be the big ass attitude that showed up on Fashionable Loud.not just Kid Rock but the whole band. The music the lyrics they all sucked me in and my friends and family thought I was crazy. They could not see why I was nuts about seeing Kid Rock and TBT live, I convienced my best friend to go to Music Midtown with me just so I could see this show. She was shocked and amazed at how drawn in she was. Even though she is not as crazy about the music as I am she still says there is no other live act like Kid Rock and TBT. Man the memories are endless when it comes to the live shows. Thanks Cheryl for making me remember the down right emotion I feel of the music and shows. Fuck I need a concert like yersterday!

I would have to say the attraction was the bold, crass, in your face lyrics...that were not that common back in day...thought of, but not spoken...lol...I could relate to a lot of what they sang about in my own life at that time??? And that really got my attention, and his scense of humor amused me.
My first time I saw them perform live, that sealed the deal for me...I was hooked on the best performers to get up on stage and give all they had to the fans...a fuckin great time and good music!
Thanks for the ride K.R. @ T.B.T.
Your the bestest;)

I am not from a hip hop background but love music that comes from a wide range of influences generally. but what really got me addicted was seeing him live. I had pretty much stopped going to live shows because I was so bored with them and sick of the expense and fighting crowds. But on a lark I saw KR doing a small venue so I went and holy fuck! he was awesome. the band was awesome. I didn't even know half the songs he was doing at the time, but they were freaking awesome. I came away with my head in orbit... bought all the rest of the albums I didn't already have the next day. I swear I don't think I've been the same since.

One of the treats of my life, watching Bob set the hook for ya. LOL!

For me it was the music...it was original, unique, a style all his own. As well, his personality and sense of humor, just as unique as his music in many aspects. As well, the band...their awesome talent as musicians, and so on. As time passed I also grew to respect Kid and TBT more as individuals apart from their music...their beliefs, including related to our society and politics very similar to mine. As more time passed, I witnessed with detail...Kid, aka 'Rock' aka 'Bob Ritchie'...evolve and mature, both personally and professionally...as is only natural for most people to do, including artists in any medium. Bob Ritchie has matured into a man and artist of whom retains his strong sense of self respect and dignity, but that maturity of which comes naturally with age and life experience...has taught him to retain self respect and dignity with a bit more class and style. I would imagine he has discovered as many do, that the more respect you show others with presenting yourself, your issues, concerns, or opinions...that the more seriously and respectively you will be received.

I think if one truly listens to the lyrics of Kid's songs over the years, notices the depth of which they have evolved with his caring about others, our society failing, our family values & traditions being lost in that failing society...it is very obvious he as a person has grown and matured, including with his priorities in life. Don't get me wrong...Kid still enjoys having a good time, partying it up, so to speak...of which he has publicly admitted alcohol can get him in trouble at times, haha...and as I said, he retains much self respect and dignity as he always has. Still...there is a major difference in Kid Rock as a mature man, father, person, member of society, recording artist...then that of his "old skool" music and lyric era.

Much of his music today is more passive, respectful, serious in message...often the message he is relaying through his songs...is a

Oh, and when he just about shot out of a cannon ball onstage with Areosmith in 1999 at the M.T. music awards...like a fire cracker to my eyes, I saw RED (no pun intended). It didn't help that he looked just like my first you know what....not my first true love, but my first. He changed my somewhat closed mind on music. It's been only rock and roll for me, but he brought a variety to add to my interestes. But I only like to listen to the music that I didn't care for from him only, so I guess that leaves me back to square one. I guess ya can't change a one track mind, but through Kid I can live vicariously and that's why I love him, he has broadned my horizons in music.

Lyrics, Kid Rocks behavior, attidude, and style (dress, moves). The fact he has a female drummer and befiriended and employeed Joe C. In 98 (I Know,my little Lo was born that year) I would sing Only god Knows why and hear it played often but didnt pay attention nor knew who sang it. In 2003 (freash out of a 17 yr relationship) I heard Cowboy going down I-240 with the windows day and a truck full of kids and asked who it was, I got a couple of KR Cd's and when I heard him say/use the word Belevolent I was hooked.
