Oh, by the way...he's not staying at Grizzly House now, they moved him & Donna, so the number for Grizzly House wouldn't be where you would need to call. I have the number for where they're staying now...and I did call earlier to see how his Chemo was going, if he was having any issues or reactions...but received the voice message box to their room, so left a message. I'm not sure how many incoming calls they're allowed, or if they're restricted...but I'm gonna try to call again later.
Awesome! I thought the number he posted was their cells calling card number, which has limited minutes...didn't realize it was Grizzly House, that makes more sense now why he or Donna posted it, haha. Some of his posts have been by Donna, if he's not up to it with updating. I don't usually call unless it's an emergency, because with my 75% hearing loss it makes it difficult to converse & understand completely what is being said...email & posting is best for me to communicate with. Also, Dillon too has some trouble with hearing due to pressure from his tumors, and isn't a big phone person either as a result. Seems he and I are two peas in a pod when it comes to phone talking & hearing loss, haha.

Called him and left a message. He's a popular guy based on the reaction of the person who picked up the phone at Ronald McDonald House. Busy busy......LOL!

god bless him the givebackkid
Since knowing Dillon, it is our charity of choice and is very deserving. Having a personal tie to it does make a difference. Dillon is a living hero to all who have come to know him.
We haven't seen him much in the past few years, just phone calls or messages passed along by Phyllis - then there is Facebook, but nothing is the same as being with him in person.
We had a party for him one year and it was priceless - he sang/played an Afro-man song...we all just about spit out our drinks...he was like 13 years old...darn it can't remember the song now - he sang more than one...but I'm getting old and forgetful...makes me smile thinking about it.

People don't always understand, that even the smallest donation is important, it all adds up! He himself honestly doesn't like attention being directed at him in any other way, with exception of prayers for him, and all the St. Jude kids, their families. Also, just so all will know who may not...Dillon doesn't ask me to write blog stories for attention towards himself persay, nor do I. He asks me to write blog stories telling of special Kid Rock & other related events he's able to participate with that are important to him, such as his going to concerts like Memphis 2008...because it keeps the 'reality' reminder out there publicly, that 'life' is truly not taken for granted and lived to the fullest by him, and kids overall facing terminal or serious illness. The stories reveal and show the difference St. Jude has made in their lives...giving them life, extending it...and they most definitely appreciate each and every priceless moment of life, and the memories

Look at the coinciding photos with each of my blog stories, as they truly speak louder than words I write...look at Dillon's eyes, facial expressions...you'll see what I'm speaking of, haha. In his eyes you will find the true meaning of life...which is to make the most of each and every moment you can, not to feel sorry for yourself when facing hardships or lifes tough battles.
Dillon is my angel on Earth...he keeps me grounded on what is important in life, what is not...and when I begin to get down with lifes woes or heartaches...I remind myself of Dillon...I pick up & read the easled plaque that sits beside my PC, of which was a special gift from Dillon to me. It is a wood piece, that has a little crystal angel affixed to a beveled mirror, and script saying, "Your friendship was sent on angel wings." Dillo

Is there anything one can do??
alone going through a sickness like this, makes him a Hero to me!
Dillon is the "Give-Back" Kid, and for a long as he was able to hold a microphone, he's MC'd fun raisers for St. Judes in Memphis, where he is currently receiving his new protocol. I am sure he'd appreciate any help or contribs you'd like to send there, as he's lost so many dear friends in treatment.

Big Hugs to you Dillon!
Connie tells his story best, go back into history here and read some of her stuff about Dillon. Remarkable kid.

Phyllis...how are you talking to Donna? The times I've tried to call I get a recording saying their phone is out of area? Are you calling St. Jude direct, where they're staying?
With the rain we've had the last several days...my satellite signal is weak, and it's taking a very long time for webpages to load, but my email often won't send or receive. Anyway, I've been trying to reach her about something important. I did manage to send one email, but not sure if it will go through or not. If you talk to her again, please ask her to call me.
Thanks, love ya.
Mark's been wonderful, as I glance at my treat, lol!
Dillon's life is more complex than most and he's intelligent so he worries. Hard to change that in his personality, he asks questions and ponders stuff. Just his medical condition makes me a wreck, I am always so amazed at how calmly he projects himself, and always puts others first.
Just glad he has you to turn to when the other adults around him can't help.
I've updated my dear friend Mark, as he keeps watch over Dillon too, and has grown very attached since the first time I told him of Dillon a couple years ago when we were talking on the phone once, then my introducing the two of them. Dillon has grown attached to Mark also, but from a distance, appreciative of what Mark has done for St.Jude, as well as for Dillon. :)
Connie Jo said:Well, I'm not sure how much help I was. Not sure why he was up in the wee morning hours, other than he was troubled no doubt, worried about others. Normally when he turns to me like that in the wee morning hours, asking for my help...he's pretty uspet. My first thought of course was, for his own well being he needs to focus on HIM. That's very difficult for Dillon to do however, considering his HUGE caring heart! I just wish I could've been there with him last night, so I could've tried to calm him some and be of more help than through a damn PC screen! It was obvious he was upset, I can always tell by his words and typing. I prayed that by this morning the situation would've resolved itself, and he would not be as worried about it.bluesuedeshoe said:Connie Jo said:He messaged me at Facebook late last night, or early this morning, asking for my help with something personal. Hugs & Prayers for ya!
My daughter and I will include him in our bedtime prayers. Hang in there.
Know all are busy this weekend, but, if you could send some special prayers Dillon's way, I'd sure appreciate it. He's at another critical juncture in his cancer treatment, and feeling pretty low due to complications from chemo.
Happen to believe the good will from Bob's sites since he first posted "I have brain cancer" to me back at KRAA has been vital in keeping him going.
He is now 18, and a beautiful kid.
Please send those prayers.....
^j^ keep the fiath!
ya in my prayers. may the lord heal him and hold the famliez hand god bless much luv
