    MY ROCK IS DYING
    mothersfinest says (23 Sep '10)

    Dear Bobby,
I somehow feel the need to share with you my story. I
have a wonderful family in which my father is our ROCK. He has raised
our Italian family with so much love and respect and strength. He
gathers all 13 of us together every Sunday in his small home for
dinner. The now teenage kids come home from college on Sundays in honor
of their grandfathers tradition. After being diagnosed with colon
cancer, surgery and being reassured that "We got it all" we were told
that the cancer has spread to his liver and bones. This is just 8 weeks
after his surgery. We are beside ourselves to say the least. Tonight as
he was stating who should get what I thought about how I can get his
1936 ford restored for him. The car he bought in Sept 09 before his
surgery. This would be my way of restoring him. He labored for 5 years
on a 1953 Chevy he redone with very little tools or money and it is
priceless to me. This would be a true gift to our family. Thanks
Chris Glaze. 105 Rocky Branch drive. Mcdonough Ga. 30253. 770-480-4367. I met Steven Newton! See you on the Cruise.

Chris - the best gift you can give your dad is the gift of strength, which will allow him to die in peace. I refused to take no for an answer from his Drs. I called all over the country to try to find a Dr that would re-address the situation, they all said no. So I asked my dad what I could do for him. He asked me to make sure my little sis graduated from college, help my mom, and take care of his mother & other family members back in the old country (my parents escaped from a commie country). I said yes. I was 28, scared to death on how to take it all on. All I really wanted was for my dad to make all the bad stuff go away. No matter how scared I was, I didn't let him see it. He was able to die is peace because he knew his family would be ok. Your dad doesn't need his car - he needs to know you are going to be ok.

Chris Even if someone had his addy, We would never share it. Thats just unacceptable.

Kid Rock gets many requests for help... Children dying of terrible diseases, Michigan peeps out of work, loosing their homes living on the streets.

He helps where he can. I understand your wanting to do something nice for your Dad. I really do. But comeing here and asking Kid Rock to help you restore a car is somewhat inappropriate..

There are so many peeps who have dire needs. I think most dads would appreciate it more if you did the work on the car rather than some rockstar pay to have it done. Just my opinion.

God Bless Ya'll

Chris - I am so sorry to hear your story. I went through this with my father - he was also the "rock" of our family. After all these years of being your rock, it is now time for you to be your father's rock. Be as strong for him as he has been for you. I will say a prayer for your family.
