Should have stayed in bed
Red lights, ass wipes
Fat people walking around
With clothes too tight
ATM fees that just aint right
Rents too high, I don’t know why
Everywhere I go they buy and buy
I said Goddamn
I should of stayed in bed
Something wrong with my head
I should of stayed in bed
Scratch off winners
Mini thinners
Too many choices TV dinners
Fake laughing, traffic
Ex wife’s spastic
Head case spinning,
Go home to your basket
I said Goddamn
I shoulda stayed in bed
Something wrong with my head
I shoulda stayed in bed
Over worked, go a boss that’s a jerk
Everywhere I go, there’s twerps
WOW! Read this yesterday but I didn't have time to respond. Although I don't live in Detroit anymore, I did live there 4 half of my life in the actual city..no suburb. Think I will write a blog about my life there!! LOL. Neways, just wanted to say a quick word...I wouldn't question a person as to why they would want the "D" tatooed on them!! BJ, go for it!! I like the idea of it on the ankle... If I could ever get up the courage to get one myself that's EXACTLY where I'd put mine and have thought of doin so lotsa times but I always chicken out. Love to see a picture when ya get it all said and done chicka!
ROCK N ROLL ON!
Please wear the D for you. That letter or blog was from the heart & soul.
Do it for you.. Send me a picture..
I am going back to Chicago in August getting my first one. A tattoo of a Irish Celtic Cross on my neck, with my brother. He is tatted from head to toe.
I'm scared, but will do it. Will not have Kid Rock tat on me The D is GREAT, I should have C for Chicago. I wish you the best. That is a great story. send me a photo when you get it done. GIVE me strength-haha. Don't know if I can get it done..haha
Go look at the D on Rock's Arm; I have a pic posted on my myspace page. (www.myspace.com\irocout)
I also just had the DETROIT D professionally embroidered onto my Boy Cap I'm wearing in my pic.
Well after reading your explanation of the meaning..
Being that you're son is as much a part of that as Detroit itself...maybe your husband will reconsider the tattoo and appreciate it's beauty on your lower back..
However from experience...if you're not gonna go BIG on your lower back...dont place it there...
Your outside ankle would be a nice place for it too..
The hip area is often overlooked as well...
Good luck! : )
BJ, I never understand when I go to shows all over the country why I see people sporting the The Detroit "D" and that was the main reason I asked you. You gave a great answer, which led me to understand where you were coming from. I am not the DIETROIT Police, I have no say what people do, but I do question it from time to time..
Anyways, I am not a total asshole, just a partial asshole..
On my shoulder blade ( guess!) any other suggestions?
AWwwwwwww BJ... what sentiment...
: )
Beautifully stated...
Question... where ya thinking of putting it?
OMG!!! I totally didn't expect that from you Kev....I THANK YOU for understanding and once it's done I will wear it with pride and do your city proud!
Angel it's more than just to rep Kid Rock as you can read for yourself....I love the folks that tattoo Kid Rock straight up, but how's that going to look when their 80? This way, it's my little secret what all it represents to me...only a true Kid Rock fan would understand that part of it represents him...It's kinda incognito representation I guess.
You are very good at expressing yourself. I think you would be a fine representitive of the "D"
Thanks for understanding I was being real when asking. I think that I take offense sometimes to people sporting the "D" when they know nothing about it. I think that is the pride you eluded to above..
Sport your "D" with Pride..
Well, Kev...I'm not sure I'm as good at expressing myself as you seem to be but let me try...
I'm a southern girl with northern roots. Moving to the south as a small child I didn't fit in at first. I had a northern accent and was often thought of as "stuck up" but when I'd go back up north, they thought I was stupid because I was getting the southern draw...
I have been to Detroit a couple of times and love it. The reasons are simple...Detroit is a beautiful place with a tough exterior and reputation...much like myself. But if you look beyond that you'll see there's much more to it to be proud of and enjoy.
I dated someone from Flint for over a year and that relationship was very important to me. People from Detroit (or near there) are very proud of their city despite it's reputation. I was all set to move there, and had a job lined up before I realized that my responsibilities and family here were more important.
I love the Redwings even though I'm not a big hockey fan...not much hockey played in the south. I love that the Tigers were a terrible team but preservered to become winners despite the odds.
My (male) college roommate was from there, and spoke of Detroit like no other place he'd lived in the world....When I visited it with him, he showed me places that tourists don't get to see.
My son's name is Dylan and he's as big of a Kid Rock fan as I am. The D represents him as well. I have the Gothic D painted on the walls of his room, and he wears a gold one around his neck. When he (and I) met Kid in Atlanta he knelt down to be on his level and spoke to him with respect, tipped his hat to me like a gentleman (a trait that I'm still trying to figure out if you share).
And....as you eluded to before, several people that I admire and care about are from there. The music scene in Detroit is like none other in the world. Something in the water there breeds musicians like no where else. Music is my saving grace and Detroit has given me some
What do you love about Detroit? What do you want to represent? I am from Detroit, and I do not understand people that want the Tat because Kid Rock or Eminem have it. They have it because they are from Dietroit..
So, please, since I do not understand, feel free to help me understand.
I KNOW what it is and what it stands for....it means more than that for me, I wouldn't expect you to understand....just because I'm not FROM Detroit doesn't mean I don't love it and want to represent it.
The "D" is for Detroit.....
It's the old English D represented on the Detroit Tigers Uniform..
And Really, You should be from the "D" to sport the "D"
