    ??RIP MR. PROBERT??
    RedwingT says (22 Sep '10)

It's a sad day for those in the hockey world as we lay to rest a great man on and off the ice.
I felt compelled to make this blog out of respect for a man that I once called a friend.
It was way back in the late 80's early 90's, before his wife and kids and in the days of lotsa Boozing and partying. Back in the days when we both had a lot of growing up to do. I think we both achieved that goal and I am happy that Bob was able to leave his demons behind, even thou that meant leaving some of us behind with them. He was a better person for doing so. I am proud of the man you became Bob and am so very sad that you leave behind your Wife and beautiful kids.

    RIP my friend!!

If anyone is interested, here is an interview Bob did with WRIF a few years back. It's a great interview, well worth the listen!

I can only imagine how hard it is for you with being in his life on such a regular basis. I know how it was for me and I haven't seen him in over a decade. But someone of his stature (not his fame either) is hard to let go of, for sure. Just being here reading this again, has opened back up the pain & sorrow.

I mourn for his wife, kids & the rest of the family. He def was an unbelievable man and most unforgettable! Take care Stace and when it gets hard, just remember that grin & chuckle he had when he was up to something funny...it helps to make things better for a time.....Peace to you and yours!

Heh "T" just wanted to thankyou for your nice comments about Big Bob. I was Bob's best friend and also his wife's cousin. We were very close and he was such an awesome guy. I will miss him terribly. Just wanted to say hi and thanks again. Peace, Stace

That was such a shock. That was around when I really started to get interested in hockey. Figured better join my husbands passion, I complained at first about his hockey style. My husband about took my face off, (no pun intended, well maybe) This is exactly what hockey is about . Then I started to enjoy his fights and aggressive style. He will be missed and too bad the NHL has cracked down on his style of play, that's what makes the game. So sorry you lost a personal friend. Prayers are w/ his family and yours.

Yeah Laurie even thou I hadn't seen him in over 15 years, still doesn't change the way I felt about him.
Yesterday was a very emotional day!

I so wish I could find that box of pictures that I've been complaining about even more now! Even thou it prolly would have made yesterday even harder, It would have been great in a sense to see his smiling face looking at me thru that lens!

Love you too L!

Thanks T, it is hard enough for us normal fans, but to have known him personally, it must tear your heart out. Love you T!
