I am a teacher that encourages patriotism, understanding our freedoms and why we have them. For many years I have honored our veterans and troops. It is important to encourage thanking our veterans. Last June our school presented "Salute the Troops"-Garfield Style. Our children need to experience positive feelings and connect them with our troops. For several years my classroom connected with Iraq in distance learning conferences. Last year the funds were cut. This year we will write letters to try and re-instate this effort. Good luck with your efforts. God Bless our troops and send them home safely. Wish I could be there with my students. We will be doing a tribute in our own way. Mary Lund Michigan
