The Judge not allowing Bob to use his Trip to Iraq as Part of his Community Service
That Guy says (30 May '10)

I am writing this letter not only as a fan of Kid Rock aka Bob Ritchie, I am writing this letter as a father, a friend, a son, and most importantly, an American.

Kid Rock is portrayed all kinds of different ways, in the National Media, I am sure you have had a glimpse of the Kid Rock that is punching photographers, Punching douche bag Rock Stars, Strip Club DJ's, or guys in Waffle Houses. He is portrayed as this Rebel without a cause, or Devil if you prefer. However, being here in Michigan, sometimes we get a little different side of the story of who is Kid Rock. The Man who helps out Girl Scouts, Golf Teams, and sick children. A man so dedicated to the troops serving this country that he has spent quite a few Holidays in the midst of War, entertaining, shaking hands, and generally putting a smile on the faces of some men and women who do not get much time to smile. Yes, Kid Rock is not just a foul mouthed, sucker punching, asshole like some try to say he is.

While I read his posting on his website, for the first time in a long time I could see the passion and raw Emotion that mad thios man a household name. As someone who has been around since the very beginning, someone who may not have always agreed with Kid Rock, may not have been fond of all his changes musically, Kid Rock as a man, has grown and changed quite a bit for the positive. I believe you, Judge Wong may have said it all when you stated "The Defendant clearly made this trip in the past, and would do so even if not under an order to perform community service" Yes, Bob Ritchie would absolutely make this trip, with or without your order Judge Wong. Kid Rock takes it to heart, takes it very serious, and loves what he does for these men and women who make it possible for all of us to live the way we do. Have you thanked someone in the Military for making it possible for you to decide the fate of so many people?

HOWEVER JUDGE WONG, The Next Statement you made pissed me off, and is the reason I am writing this letter.

"Besides, giving him credit for something he would otherwise love to do in front of a Camera"

I am not even going to continue with the quote, because honestly, it makes me sick to my stomach. You are someone who represents the People of your District, the people of your City, the people of your State, and most important, the people of your of the United States of America. You have made a big mistake in choosing your words, a mistake that I feel should be brought to light by the Media, by the Armed forces, by Kid Rock himself, and yes by all the American People who are offended by this uneducated and quite frankly STUPID COMMENT. To even remotely suggest Kid Rock does this for Camera time, is not only offensive to me, Millions of Fans, or even Kid Rock himself, it is offensive to the men and women he spends his time with over there, its offensive to any one of SHORT LIST of Entertainers who go over there to spend time with these men and women, and it should be offensive to ALL AMERICANS. You see Judge Wong, not many people see the Camera Footage of Kid Rock entertaining the troops unless they look for it. It's not force fed down their throats like say for instance him punching a man who was harassing a woman in a Waffle House. Its not force fed down our throats like say for instance him punching a man who has taunted him for years. No, the Camera Footage of these trips is rarely aired on CNN, or any of the major news networks, and you know what? Kid Rock is fine with that.. Just like the aforementioned acts of Kindness (Girl Scouts, Gold Teams, Sick Children) Kid Rock does not do it for publicity, he does not walk around tooting his own horn for making these trips, or doing these kind things, he does it from the heart. Unlike you Judge Wong, who probably would prefer some sort of embarrassing footage of Kid Rock performing some stupid, insignificant form of Community Service, probably sitting in front of a TV hoping to hear your name mentioned. I know this letter will not change your mind, but I could only hope it is one of millions, I can only hope that the Same American's who vote you into your Job, are as offended as I, and remove you from your Job. You are just another example of a Judge trying to make his name off of a celebrity put in front of him.

it was 80 in south florida the hottest day in a week i had to put the air on!

bluesuedeshoe's picture

Come on, Tangie. These are professionals playing for big bucks. Anyone who thinks Bob's insomnia is just due to the next CD is dreaming. He plays a very complex game with the media, and not always well. If I had to be interviewed by Larry King, I wouldn't be able to sleep, period. LOL!

bluesuedeshoe's picture

LOL. Then I think you'd be surprised. And I think he's very talented, and am glad to listen to anything he or TBT puts out there. But, he can ride the razor's edge.

bluesuedeshoe's picture

Did it occur to either of you that he probably spent days with his staff training for those interviews?

bluesuedeshoe's picture

Ah, just a little too much for me, though that's her opinion. I do think he's getting a shitty deal on this. BUT, it is as a result of the way he protrays himself or allows himself to be portrayed. Don't know who wrote that letter he published, but it sure wasn't him. His words cleaned up a lot by someone maybe who's on his payroll. Publicity is a machine. It has no conscience. He's a pro, been at it decades now.

bluesuedeshoe's picture

He's always said there's no such thing as bad publicity, LOL. And if there's a iconic image of that, it's him. Sticks to him like peanut butter.....

bluesuedeshoe's picture

It's OK if you don't agree, just my opinion. Think he would have been far more effective to take a more private road to work this out with the Georgia authorities.....going public, you always take a risk that it will blow up in your face. Bob's no choirboy, and this is how it bites him back.

bluesuedeshoe's picture

The media backwash, yes. I can see your point. But, dammit, Bob asked for it by posting that letter. If you don't want negative press, avoid press...right?

bluesuedeshoe's picture

Wow, really? You think this happened due to his politics? Not me. Just Hollywood vs Main St, and Bob was in the cross hairs due to previous daliances. If this had been his first offense, don't think this would have happened this way. As it is, most judges would be singing his praises for volunteering for hazardous duty in lieu of community service.

bluesuedeshoe's picture

Look at it this way, that judge has to report to someone....he isn't standing out there without supervision. So maybe the public outcry and comparisons will change this person's mind, therefore, the judge's.

Janie_9's picture

Thank you for speaking what is in the hearts of many here. The BS this judge is handing out doesn't fit the crime. KR proved his remorse, and with good intentions tried to make restitution prior to sentencing with an apology to that community by donating to the shelter. I would hope that the defense lawyer presented to the court all the afore mentioned good works he does year-round be taken into consideration when sentencing.
A fair-minded judge would have taken those things into consideration in judging the man's character and motives. No, instead let's make an example out of Mr. Richie and assume he's just another "long-haired, dope smokin' musician" who needs to be taught a lesson. Some of these judges just get the big head when it comes to celebrity cases. Remember the Anna Nicole case?
As far as interferring with his planned visit to Iraq that would suck for him because he has it in his heart to go and his visits always boosts the morale of our soldiers. But... In the back of my mind I'm thinking everything happens for a reason and maybe this time it's not meant for him to be there. Maybe he'll be kept out of harm's way or maybe he'll be needed elsewhere to touch another's life closer to home. Just a thought.
BTW, Happy Belated Birthday wishes to you Kevin! Sorry I missed it. Haven't been here much this week.

well said kev

Lil rock N Roll's picture

She was extra mean! I could not belive that some one maybe other than and ex- girlfriend could get that nasty about him. Maybe Kev will give her a run for her $ because i am tired today.. I only hope this does not make his punishment worse.

bluesuedeshoe's picture

It is true that quite a while ago, Bob wrote for his behast at a parole hearing. Later, they found that this inmate had used prison computers to do a whole lot of nasty stuff, and he was sentenced to more time.

CHECK THIS SHIT OUT THis BITCH IS NUTS! and KevRock is this true at all?

Snaps's picture

hahaha I know you are Angel, you will defend Kid Rock no matter what and I respect that.

Snaps's picture

YAY!! I'm glad you get my point...

I know 6 hours of anger managemnet he was given.

I think he is being treated like any one else, they pick up trash and whatever else they do. Just because your brother didnt change doesn't mean it doesn't change some, it does..Maybe the numbers aren't high or maybe its very few but if you can change someone for the better then its a good thing.

I am just a true believer that you do the crime you do the punishment. That guy that broke into my house, there was no justice there. He got off the fucking hook. I am trying to fight for the rights of victims since I have been on that shoe a few times.

Snaps's picture

I have been abused by a fucking idiot and you know what I did to avoid the situation.Walked Away. It was simple. I'm not going to let ANYONE get to me that much that I feel the need to use violence. What the fuck does it solve?? NOTHING at all!!

Snaps's picture

Sorry Angel not trying to offend you at all here BUT I clearly want people to see that Kid can be your favorite artist and still do fucking wrong. My kid's do wrong all the time..Do I let them slide by and make christmas cookies for their punishment or should I go a different route to teach them a lesson?

Snaps's picture

hell No I have no problem getting a gun out to shot a asshole that was trying to break into my house..Fuck NO

This is different all the way around...This shows he can't CONTROL his anger, thats the problem and justice should be done. He should be doing community service of something he doesn't enjoy doing and maybe, just maybe the lesson will be learned.

If you were that person that Kid Rock punched you would feel the same way. The video clearly shows Bob,bossy and a couple others standing in front of that guys table. That means they removed theie self's from their table to go over there. I remember when that clip came out so many here said it made Bob look bad. Well Bob made his self look bad.

by KidRockAngel 34 minutes ago
None of this relates to Bob's case tho. He has admitted guilt and is ready to pay the penalty...

Yep he has admitted guilt, your 100% correct BUT he didnt get his way and lost his control to post all the public info on his website. He is pissed OFF...Maybe instead of him doing 80 hours community service they should give him 80 hours of anger management.

I love Kid Rock, always will BUT I do know right from wrong and he Ain't right...

Snaps's picture

Ok i understand you don't see a problem but in other words YOU are saying its alright to punch someone..

Snaps's picture

No, see you don't understand,,

YOU have NO RIGHT to lay your hands on ANYONE!!....Bottom line...I don't care what the fuck they say to you. They are using their words to provoke you and you use your words to defend your self.

if you punch someone that is drunk, a women, a child, a friend your in disagreement with it's all wrong their is no difference. I am sorry but I can't believe people here condone that behavior.

Snaps's picture

Angel it DOES matter...

Don't you think if the judge sentenced him to something that he would rather not do to something he loves doing would really teach him a lesson. Come on. You have to see this side of the situation. People are provoked everyday, some know how to walk away and some just can't. You have to be responsible for your action's.

So in other words if you and your man got into a arguement and you mouth off to him, does it give him a right to punch you?

Alot of people here are on Kid's side of course because they are fansbut what if this was Tommy lee or someone else, the table would be turned.

LORI_116's picture

LMAO....AlphaFeml I got the T-shirt image stuck in my head ....that would be funny :)
Angel so true with your last comment. : ) have a good one everybody, much love, lori

Heather_116's picture

Damn fellas..... It's amazing how much the pendulum swings in either direction. I watched the video. It doesn't leave much to the imagination. But, the women's shelter fundraiser is a huge benefit to the women there, irregardless of what people believe were his incentives. That's all a matter of "perception"....... could it be that he didn't want the townspeople to have a bad taste in their mouth about him, if that's their only encounter, and wanted to show them he was actually a good guy. Just because he came onto the scene with a really larger than life persona, guess what, still a persona. About the USO trip, it' s not his first, not his last, and if he has until "X" date to complete those hours guys....... it might just mean..... no trip. So, whose at a loss there, the miltary guys or the guys who missed out having him hang on trash duty? It's ridiculous beyond comprehension to me. It would be a ton of camera guys snapping shots. Taking away from it. And, overseas, it's about compassion. Plus, if he gets stuck doing community service, if I were him I would wear a shirt like FJW or some sarcastic slogan about DeKalb county like..... I went to DeKalb County, and all I got was a beer, some waffles, and 80 lousy hours..... just to slight...........

bluesuedeshoe's picture

Yep. Thanks!

Connie Jo_3's picture

Wait, who left the part of the blues post that states "I can't figure out why you peeps cant see what this is about. lol"...was that an ending to Angels quoted comment, or blue's comment? My post related to thinking blue wrote that sentence, hahaha...maybe not though after re-thinking.

Connie Jo_3's picture

I 'do' get it Jocelyn, I just happen to get both sides, see valid points & reasoning on both sides. Since I'm a fan of Kid Rocks, feel I owe him so to speak, for many reasons, one you're aware of personally...I chose to take Kid's side under those circumstances. Kid's is an honorable & factual side I've taken, considering overall...so don't feel like I'm selling out 'truth & justice' in my soul, for lack of a better definition. :)

bluesuedeshoe's picture

Its ridiculous. And Kim, it doesnt matter if its something that you do everyday as long as its volunteer for a non profit organization. And can you imagine KR trying to pick up trash by the side of the road with 5000 fans tagging along. The traffic nightmare alone would be hysterical..........

I cant figure out why you peeps cant see what this is about. lol

Again, just briefly summarized, Angel....what is this about (from your perspective)?

Lil rock N Roll's picture

I think if they make him do that we should all go just to cause a distraction and give the judge a BIG FUCK YOU .. you are right WTF does it matter it is all community service.
