Sometimes it's hard to be a woman
Giving all your love to just one man
You'll have bad times
And he'll have good times
Doin things that you don't understand
But if you love him
You'll forgive him
Even though he's hard to understand
And if you love him
Oh, be proud of him
Cause after all he's just a man
Stand by your man
Give him two arms to cling to
And something warm to come to
when nights are cold and lonely
Stand by your man
And show the world you love him
Keep giving all the love you can
Stand by your man
Stand by your man
And show the world you love him
Keep giving all the love you can
And I can be a bit hard core as most of you know but I'm learning to soften up a bit. Just a bit;)
:)
There are certain personality traits I hold as most of you know. I'm guarded. I always have my guard up. It's hard for me to let just anyone 'in.' It took some of you a very long time to 'get' me, even when I did let some of you 'in.' It's not that it's hard for me to love, because I do love everyone unconditionally and I will forgive anyone who has hurt me almost anything, but it's hard for me to let someone love me back.I back away, retreat at any sign of this. Maybe I have a hard time feeling I'm worthy of it. I was unhappy for a long time, but I've been slowly fighting my way back. Connie Jo, you know this, Kevin you know this, Angel you know this etc. Anyway, when you let your guard down and you're able to let others love you, and you're able to actually SHOW love in return, not just feel it, but show it, then you're ready to be loved back. I'm almost there. There's still a part of me that wants to retreat and that fears doing something that will sabotage things as has been the case in the past. But like I said, I'm almost to that point where I can let someone love me back fully.
I hope I haven't rambled on too much. Those who know me, know what I mean by all this.
Anyhoo, while having a similar discussion with my best friend, he wrote down the lyrics to this song and mailed them to me in a card. And he has helped me keep the faith...So, here it is...KidRock's

He is real nice he might be a bad seed but I don't give a fuck what the world thinks of me lol
Not sure if it's an "our song" type of thing, teehee....but my hubbie prefers us listening to Paid :)
I was hiding from the sun once again
I was running from the time my friend
I've lost another war
So, I poured one more and went home drunk again
She was up when the key hit the lock
And the clock looked at me just like the devil in disguise
I saw it in her eyes - she'd be gone before the evenin'

Really? I didn't know that. I always thinks it's Bob. Must be a brain block.
Bob didnt write it, Marlon did... Jus sayin
Blue Jeans and a Rosary ............ I swear Bob was must have been thinking of us when he wrote this one ......
(22 years and 2 daughters later, never caring what everyone else said, I still believe in my man!!)
Bumped unglies?! I haven't heard that in a long time! Reminds me of an old boyfriend. Umm, the ugly part not the bumpin' part.
For me it's probably "Only God Knows Why" with my son. Seems we are asking that question a lot!
I like this one 2.
No "our" song -- 'cause there's no "us"
I also like "Don't tell me u love me"
I don't have an "our" song with anyone. But I think the "me" song is "I Am." I love what he is saying about himself, but I also think he is giving a message to all of us: be yourself, it doesn't matter if not everyone understands you, just be true to yourself. I fuckin' love it!!!!!!
But, really, I can usually find the perfect quote from some song of his to describe every emotion I have.
yes.....EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM
And they are not "Our" song(s).
They are "Mine" all mine, and they are all about "ME"

Wow. This discussion is so moving and shows how deeply Kid's music affects us all. Unfortunately, I don't have a song with anyone either. None of my personal friends/family members are Kid Rock fans unfortunately. Connie Jo, if you don't mind me asking, what songs do you have on your CD that you burned with all his songs that were your favorites? That's awesome. Which unreleased ones were added if you don't mind sharing? LOL. I also have to agree with the lady who said that his songs are all mine and I'm selfish. I guess I have to be if none of my friends are fans of our guy.
I can relate to ending a marriage...mine was 37 yrs long! I can relate to healing too, and many Kid Rock songs connected to that healing.
Though I've been a diehard fan for a decade...Kid Rock & TBT's music has been truly a saving grace since I ended my marriage 8 months ago. When I'm down, I crank it up, grab a beer, start rocking out to the music dancing around home...or I'll hop in my truck, cruise the country two lanes with it cranked up bopping along, hahaha. I most always go from down to wound & upbeat when I'm Kid Rockin it!
I NEVER, but NEVER listen to sad ballads or songs when I'm down...that's NOT a good idea for any one to do. I have a favorite and special Kid Rock & TBT CD I burned, combining all my favorites from each CD over the years, and also included duets, unreleased songs, etc....they're all upbeat & rocking it! :)
I didn't have a Kid Rock song with my husband (now X)...but he was a Kid Rock fan. I say "was" cause he was before he had an emotional breakdown...now he's a Miley Cyrus fan...serious biz! He likes Taylor Swift too.
Anyway, I'm happy we didn't share a Kid Rock song...it would sorta ruin the song for me if we had of, haha.
Its not my favorate kid rock song but its our song
"OUR" song is BLUE JEANS AND A ROSARY,word for word-from beginning to the end !
Well i dont have 1 song its a whole cd! 10 years ago as I walk out on a twenty year marriage,my x gives me a couple of cds for what i dont know. One of those cds was Devil Without a Cause.I had never listened to Kid before until then.tThat was what I started my day with every day on the way to work! His music kept my mind off the pain.He wiil forever have my gratitude. Every song on that cd has a part in my healing process,Only God Knows Why,Wasting Time,...the list goes on.
