Wise interview. You're right about how awful it'd be if everyone had health insurance. If our government provided health care we might rank number 1 instead of 37 and pay a lot less while covering everyone. It'd also be a big help to the auto industry so they wouldn't be shelling out so much in benefits that their competitors abroad don't have to worry about. It's disgusting we Michiganders are reduced to begging for health care from their community with a coin jar and a cute picture saying their child has gotten cancer and could you please donate a buck because the jobs with benefits are disappearing. I'm sick of having to go to benefits because one of my friends got hurt or cancer and doesn't have insurance. We're all going to get sick. We've got to get the HMOs out of it, get someone who will be accountable to the people instead of the dollar to manage care.

Man, I just want to thank you for being yourself on that interview. I liked your responses to her questions, you didn't side with anybody but the regular folks, the ones in the middle like you said. I thought you did an awesome job. Favorite part was saying you've alienated people over bigger stuff than this, lol.... www.m-jones.com Check it out if you get a chance

givinthanks, Guess I had you wrong, I would tell you about my bumper stickers but if "The Man" found out I would probably be on the no fly list as the next underwear bomber boarded the plane in front of me. It is disappointing to hear Kid Rock played at the inaugaration. However, if this means he is admitting he was wrong for doing so, that's the first step in the right direction. By writing my comment I was trying to be productive but agree there are better ways. Just wish there were more celebrities on the our side. Stay strong and God bless!

Hilljake, Unfortunantly, Michigan is not a PREcurser to what WILL happen to the rest of the country, it is standing in line behind many states that have all but declared bankruptcy. I agree with you on the consitution comment, (my bumper sticker reads LEAGALIZE the CONSTITUTION) but i disagree on the liabilities of the people. WE have done something wrong by electing the current adminstration. Consequently, the freedoms discussed earlier have and will continue to suffer. I won't delve into this further here. not the "platform". One thought though, as much as i adore kid rock, i can remember hearing that he played at a televised Inaugarial Party. i was surprised (and disappointed)as I didn't expect him to be the typical "hollywood bandwagon" type. To me, the implication was he supported the current adminstration. Now he is on tv speaking out agaisnt it. I'm all for being vocal against the adminstration but in this instance it just seems so hypocritical. o-well, here's a parting thought, maybe I have TOO much time on my hands today and instead of analyizing the heck out of this, I should focus on doing something productive. anyone "hear that!?"

I live in a condo and man, do I hear you. It never ceases to amaze me that our generation will never live as well as our parents did. I sit back and I can't believe that me and my husband (well educated, gainfully employed people) can't afford a house...a real house. My front lawn is the size of a desk cubicle. I long for a backyard where I can BBQ...all summer long. :-)

So refreshing to see a musician talk politics and that i actually agree with. I think the latter entries would feel differently if Twisted Brown had a different point of view. For too long it has been uncool for young people to be personally unresponsible and not rely on the government to take care of them. The country is broke and Michigan is a precurser to what will happen to the rest of the country unless people of all ages stand up. The people have done nothing wrong except continuing to elect out of touch politicians. All we need is the freedom given to us in our constitution and people who will stand up for it! I hope we finally have a voice from someone who is not afraid to use his platform! Politically educated or not, he's got my vote. Don't let the American Dream die!

Agree with KellinCali about the role of artists as it relates to issues outside of their talent and expertise. People with influence can be dangeous when they are ignorant and unleashed. Unfortunately, "celebrities" are allowed the platform not so much for the influence they have but more for the ratings they bring the network. This was a tame interview, obviously the interviewer had the upper hand as soon as he admitted he was "uneducated on political science." I'm sure the interviewer is used to being perceived as the bimbo so this was a nice change for her to show a hint of intelligence and get the upper hand. And you KNOW she wanted to, especially with someone like kid rock who is notorious at exploiting women. Kudos to him for being so honest. Kid Rock's viewpoint on the current domestic financial crises has no interest to me. No offense, I could care less what he thinks on this subject. Unless he wants to sing about. Then he's my guy. I just watched the interview because i love his music and he is an interesting individual.

Nice job. You hit the nail on the head when asked about your political views. I'm glad you have them, but you don't need to share. We go listen to our favorite artists to enjoy their talent, not propaganda. Thanks for keeping true to who you are. Obviously, I don't know you, but from the few interviews I've heard it's easy to see you are a rare occurrence. A grounded normal man who hasn't lost sight of where he came from and uses his talents and good fortune for the betterment of others. As a mom who listens to you music with her kids, here's a big 'Thank you'.

oops I drive a prius...used to have a chevy, but it ate all my money for gas. Living in LA you need to something that doesn't go through your money while you sit in traffic. I do love your Lincoln, and would love a ride in that fun car someday....one can dream.
