Kid Rock introduced his first American Badass Beer this weekend at his Comerica Park concerts in Detroit. Badass American Lager was brewed by the Michigan Brewing Company over the July 4th holiday weekend. It was then placed in kegs and sold at concession stands around Comerica Park during Kid Rock's sold out shows Friday and Saturday. Lines for the stands selling the Kid's beer were said to be two to three times longer than other concession lines, and reviews were mostly positive.
Badass American Lager is now being bottled in 12- and 22-ounce bottles and will be sold throughout Michigan in August. Plans are to ship to Ohio, Texas, Nevada, Tennessee and California throughout the rest of the year and then nationwide in 2010.
American Badass Beer is a joint venture with Drinks Americas Holdings, LTD, the promoter of such celebrity beverages as Trump Super Premium Vodka, Dr. Dre Cognac, Willie Nelson's Old Whiskey River Bourbon, and Paul Newman's Own Lightly Sparkling Fruit Juice Drinks and Flavored Waters. Over 400 jobs have been created in Michigan during the production of Badass Beer.
