    question regarding "collectables"
    Mz J says (24 Aug '09)

What constitutes a collectible? I had someone give me the dvd R n' R Jesus. Still in the plastic but torn open on the bottom. She said it was a collectible. No clue. Any collectors out there that can gave some advice on collecting KR memorabilia? How to determine if it is a collectible, conditions, value? Thank you in advance for your input....

The highly sought after, more valuable Kid Rock collectibles today are the items pre DWAC release...before Kid Rock became famous, an industry mass produced recording artist, so to speak for lack of better definition, hahaha. :)

Well, a collectible can be defined in various ways. Any item that you 'collect' can be construed as a collectible, so it can be a matter of personal choice. As far as for investment purposes...the more rare an item is considered collectible, the more valuable. Your unwrapped CD is of little value currently, as there are likely too many available. However, as time passes less & less will be around, and if you preserve yours safely in storage, it will appreciate over time...but it will take several, if not many years.

The better the condition, the more original...the more valuable. The fact that yours is torn & open on the bottom, will affect the value negatively some...again, it will depend upon time, years later as to how many wrapped ones are around, and the condition of those by comparison.
