Ain't No Party like a Detroit Party....
That Guy says (24 Aug '09)

Well, the time is just about upon us, and the excitement throughout the city is running rampent. Yes, Kid Rock is returning home for a series of shows, that are sure to knock the socks off of the hometown crazies.. I personally have been around the Country to see Kid Rock, from New Orleans to Maine, From Las Vegas to Alabama, From Pennsylvania to Tennessee, From Cleveland to Atlana, you get the picture, sorry, but nothing compares to good ole Michigan.... The whole crowd seems to sing along to every song played.. Its like a giant outdoor party at DTE, and its like friends just getting drunk and playing some hometown jams. I know the economy is a mess, but if you ever get a chancce to come to Michigan for a show, DO IT....

I have said it before, and I will say it again, I have been a Kid Rock fan since 1989. I have saw himplay shows in almost every venue he has ever played in Michigan. From the good ole Ritz in Roseville, to The Bullfrog bar and grille. The State Theater to St Andrews, to places I cant even remember the names.. Kid Rock has always put a little extra in for the hometown fans. Back in the day, and still today, a Kid Rock show was not just another concert, it was an event.. People have had their plans made in advance and talk about it for weeks leading up to the show.. Nowadays, it seems even more prevelent because even though some of us hometown people are more critical than anyone, we are also more proud of Kid Rock then anyone.. For me personally, its not just about Kid Rock anymore, its about Jimmy Bones, Jason Krause, Aaron Julison, Freddie Bauregard, Stef Eulinberg, Marlon Young, and of Course, this time Around Matt Shafer aka Uncle Kracker. Many of these people are considered friends to me, and some even close friends.. You see, sometimes I think people miss the point I try to make when I say this Band is an incredible Band. They work their asses off, and get little to no recognition. Some people I talk to do not know their names, know what they play, or even think a thought beyond Kid Rock. I will have you know, as proud as I am of Kid Rock, I truly believe he would be nowhere near the level of success he has reached without this band going on the road with him...

So next time you go to a show, take a look around the stage. I knwo the band has grown in size, but remember, these guys are an integral part of Kid Rock, they are an integral part of the music we love and enjoy, and give them an extra round of applause that they do deserve...

    God Bless

Bad break, have u considered moving back to the D, or maybe you could schedule your visits back here around the show dates?

I've only seen him once outside of the Michigan area, and that was Sarnia, Ontario. Quite frankly, the way they sold the tix sucked. I payed for VIP thinking it would be the closest and it was off to the side, way off to the side from the stage. Thats where you had to be if you wanted to drink it turned out. VIP equaled Alcohol, not better seats....pffffttt
We were corralled in by pipe fencing, So anyone that wanted alcohol basically got screwed IMO. It was for 18 or over, so the people that brought their kids didn't have a choice, they couldn't be in VIP. But low and behold, they got the better tix. It was very ass backwards! The show wasn't 1/2 as good either, but hey it was a good party! Figured I paid to be able to drink and not have minors around, so hell I went for it.....What a hangover the next morning...ouch!

Seems like every time they play at Pine Knob, its hot, humid and rainy! Last time the rain was blowing in under the Pavillion and it was actually refreshing! lol
They played on thou, thru the rain, thunder & lightning. I felt sorry for the people on the hill, but seemed they all stayed, it was still bumper to bumper people when I looked back there.

I went to Sarnia cpl years ago, and I have never felt heat and humidity like that! It was crazy!
It was well over 90 and the humidity was equal to the temp! Can you say HOT...OMG!
I went down to my bra and shorts, I thought my sister was gonna run off and leave me from embarassment! lmao But hey, it cooled me down and it was better than passing out!

Draper was there too, I got my pic taken with him before I got slutty! =8)~

Thanks Blondi,

unfortuneatly its just a matter of time now. She is in the last stages of Lung Cancer. She is home now and I am taking care of her. I'm being strong for her, but once its over I just know I will be a basket case!

As of right now we've bumped up to the Aug. 25th show...Lily's illness being the cause. She should be more stable on the new meds by the later date. I was elated when later dates were added!! Otherwise we would've had to miss Detroit again this tour.

Excellent writing Kevin, even more excellent & exceptional point!!
