    Dear Kid Rock: Volume 5
    kidrockschic says (24 Aug '09)

Wow! I had to go back and look at what volume this was and it was October since I last wrote. I guess that corresponds to about the time I returned from attending the Storytellers taping. I still love it when I get to tell people that I had the privilege of being in the audience for that.
As you probably have no idea, I just returned from my latest Kid Rock Adventure! I drove my happy ass from Knoxville to Detroit to see both shows in Mecca! It was a trip of a lifetime. What gets me is that those were shows number 10 and 11 for me but what I dont understand is how it continues to get better and better. During the Saturday night show, you mentioned that you had been feeling poor the night before, but that show was far more incredible than all the others Id seen before. But all of them were amazing too.AND Saturday was even better than Friday. How do you do that???
At Fridays show, Lori and I were in section 140. It was a decent seat. Lori was a little pissed cause the kids around us bought tickets when they opened to the general public and they were a row ahead. She thought that being in the community and having access to the presale tickets should put us ahead of them. One row dont mean shit to me but I can kinda understand. There was a slight reverb so when you spoke it was difficult to hear sometimes. On Saturday we actually sat in section 339 and I liked it way better! We were higher than the reverb so I could hear perfectly and I think I could see better. Im totally jealous of those fortunate enough to have the VIPs. Theres just no way I could afford that luxury right now, so the cheap seats are better than nothing.
As far as the music itself.I loved the new song and cannot wait until it is released officially. Im surprised youre doing it live. I worry that it will get pirated. The set list both nights was amazing. But I did notice that you added Bullgod to Saturday show. I really enjoyed seeing the girl get pulled out of the audience and sing Picture. Although Im a big fan of Stacy Michelle and Stefs versions, it gave me chill bumps. The buzz outside and in the forum was that it was staged. Oh well, if it was or wasnt doesnt matter, what mattered is at that moment it was awesome and made me feel great. I remember thinking at some point in the show Friday, how happy I was to be there! Life can suck really bad sometimes but its the moments like that when life is really really good! The tribute to Michael Jackson was spot on. I stood there saying, I cant believe theyre singing ABC right now. Who would have thought youd do that song in a million years. I love the little surprises, kinda like the This little light of mine during the RNRJ tour!
While in Detroit I had the opportunity of meeting Trish, Lisa, Brenda, Angie and Jen and stayed with Lori at her home. All these ladies are members of the Congregation. There were many other ladies there that I wanted to meet but just couldnt get it together. What an incredible thing this community. Without it, these people would never cross my path. I am heavily blessed because of all of them. Thanks for introducing them to me. When Bossy asked me if those women were my friends, I said yes, were all community members! I even called Sue and Michelle who live in opposite ends of the country just so they could hear a little of the show and be there with us in some small way. All of these people in this community get it. When I post something to my facebook or myspace page or if I tell friends about it, they dont understand the reasons why youre worth travelling 500 miles..congregation friends are doing the same thingAngie said why do we do this? Whats wrong with you that makes you do this??? I laughed and said, I dunno, I must have some unmet need somewhere! The truth is, theres no unmet need except the need to blow off steam and let my hair down. To not care to sing as loud as I can and dance and jump and throw my fists into the air despite thousands of people around.
Bossy remembered letting Dylan and I come backstage at the Tabernacle! I couldnt believe of all the faces, women and children that he sees everyday remembered us. Dylan couldnt come with me this time cause it was too far and I was staying at Loris. He was pissed but he understood. He was honored too that Bossy remembered him. I also was privileged to meet Stacy Michelle, Jesse, Aaron and Dime while in Detroit. Lori liked telling people I was from Tennessee, so they were all excited for me to know that Id come so far. Another highlight of the weekend was getting to see Bobby Jr. perform. Oh my God! I had no idea hed gotten so big and grown up. Hes beautiful! You should be soooo proud of the job you have done with him. He was so polite and sweet!
The Bad Ass Beer was a big hit too I think. Im not a big beer drinker but I enjoyed it. Honestly, I enjoyed the Red Stag stuff more. I just dont care for beer much but the Red Stag was yummy! I dont even like bourbon but I liked thatA LOT! Hopefully, Ill win the contest to Vegas and get a lot of opportunity to drink A lot more of that!! LOL.
Well, this is getting long so Ill close now. I appreciate everything that you give up for us. Thank you for those happy moments you provide. I almost cried when the lights went out and I was standing there with 40,000 of my friends in Detroit. Thank you for the experience and the opportunity to visit your hometown!

    God Bless and keep you!

It certaintly was! I was in the balcony right above him. It was like being at a full show and only 300-400 people there! I loved being able to relive it when it aired on TV. It was a big honor to be selected and I've made some friends because of it that I will have for life. Thanks for reading it and relating...

It must have been a great experience to be part of the Storytellers. I wish i went. I can relate to your part about letting your hair down and his shows and having a great time and not caring about anything else. Thanks for sharing!

That is a stupid statement to make if you are targeting me.

I understand how a forum works. No worries.

psycho babble?

The Great One's picture

Yes it does! Blue said so!

kidrockschic's picture

The argument is over...I don't want to carry it on. Ronny thankfully closed the other one. Please don't use this post to continue it. I'm sorry I blasted you for critizing Kid...your entitled to your opinion I get that, but you have to understand that when you do, you're opening yourself up to negativity. All I said was it was ok if he wanted to rub up on that girl.....Then it got taken way out there....That doesn't mean that I'm naive and think that his ass don't stink.....

Angel, I appreciate the comment so very much. But I can handle my own biz. If people choice to view me in a certain way, that is up to them.

Can't change the whole damn world, just appreciate those we have close to us.
And I surely do appreciate you.
