Update

My last but not least question is if these people were gonna go to this event what would they be seeing if Kid wasn't there to perform. I thought he said it was going to be small intimate club shows that HE was doing.....I do not recall Kid mentioning anyone else, but then again I lost interest because he nixed my city on the tour so I just dropped the idea of getting excited to possibly go. I was very upset that he wasn't comming to my hometown to play.....but I didn't take it out on him. I feel ripped off too but then again ya can't win 'em all.

But I thought he said it was due to a breach of contract, doesn't anyone believe him? And for that TRL or TLC person.....What in the hell are YOU doing here if it's a brainless waistland ya numbskull? I suppose ya don't like a dose of your own medicine and it takes one to know one ya DUMMIE......DAH. I personally wish that his excuse was that he was at Pam Andersons trailer sipping some pink champagne or I mean pink champale,. LK: For the record, I never called Kid greedy or dishonest. And yes, it is partially about the money for me....I never said otherwise. I said I spent my hard earned money giving to an event that I thought he would perform at. And for the record I didn't ask for my money back and had a great time at the event. I will let this go. This will be my last post on this subject. A few of us feel we are entitled to a better explanation and obviously many feel he doesn't owe us sh*t. So let's agree to disagree and move on. I might have lost a little respect for KR but in life people are always letting us down. Maybe I'm just too damn sensitive. But please don't cancel the Chicago show over Thanksgiving...I will be there and actually planned a weekend around seeing you perform there!! Peace out...this is my last post.

But, JGoldie, you're the one that's "all about the money". You felt the sting because you parted with your money -- that's what really has your panties in a bunch. Hoe about YOU be honest! He did explain, it's about a breach of contract. That's an honest explanation. You're demanding to know the details, and it just ain't gonna happen. And, just because you parted with your money, doesn't mean you are "owed" the ins and outs of what led to the cancellation. And, you didn't just say that you were disappointed, mad, frustrated, and let down. Instead, you're name calling and saying Kid Rock is greedy and dishonest -- big, big difference, right?!! And the rep for ACS said this, "Honestly, most of the people who attend our event really are returning guests and have committed to the event long before Kid Rock was on board and I think truly are interested in supporting the mission of the American Cancer Society." So, you represent the minority that attended the CHARITY EVENT. It's not like a) you weren't offered a full refund or b) the money you "donated" went to a good cause. How bout you just acknowledge and move on.

Goldie, Evidently you have not been in a legal situation where talking out of turn can get you in big trouble.... Obviously This is a legal matter and Kid Rock is not stupid... I have no doubt that eventually the facts will come out. With celebrity involved, its virtually impossible to keep shit quiet... Again , He isnt stupid, He would not risk all the ire from peeps like you and his good name unless it was VERY IMPORTANT....

He didn't "back out" of this performance. He walked out the front door like a man who knew he was right. How much does a person have to give before people believe that you're a good person? There is a big difference in "faith" in someone and "blind faith". KR has earned any "faith" that his fans have in him. If you don't know this, you are obviously NOT a fan and you are just talking to hear yourself talk.

There are a lot of fans on this site that just love his music, I respect his devotion to Detroit and the entire state but I don't 'love him', I don't know him, and, I am middle aged but I do NOT lick his photos, (Jade, great visual by the way) In other words, I am not a Kid Rock slappie. or blind faith follower. I have heard many different rumors about why he cancelled, in my younger years I have been both a participant and a victim of rumor mills, I choose not to involve myself in these until I hear from the actual people involved, If they choose not to talk, so be it.

Kid Rock has been working his ASS OFF for decades now. In all that time, how many times has he let "the people" down?! He's there in a blizzard, he's there in 100+ degree temperature! And, when I saw him at the Fan Jam during the Super Bowl week, you could see a hospital band on his wrist (check out the pictures for yourself). I'm sure, on plenty of occasions, he didn't feel up to having to perform, but you would never guess it. He always give 110% when he's on the stage. And, entertainers don't become as successful as him, or have such a long career without putting in the hard work to get to the top, and to stay at the top. At the end of the day, he's paid his dues and doesn't owe any of us anything. If he never makes another song again, he's already given us a lifetime of beautiful music to enjoy -- isn't that enough?

JADE: My point is that KR blew it on this one and I for one wanted to express that opinion. But it seems 99% of the fans on this site have blind faith in him and in their eyes he can do no wrong. I was disappointed, mad, frustrated, and let down by him on this one. It was a charitable event for a great cause...one that I believe in strongly....and he bailed without being man enough to be honest about what his motive was. That is not right and not the KR that I have grown to respect over all these years. I have had tickets to concerts where the artist cancelled last minute before. Usually due to illness or throat issues. I had no problem with that. That was a legit reason and they let us know what the issue was. I have no "end game". Just mostly defending my opinion and feelings (and apparently defending my right to even have an opinion that differs from the majority here....blind faith...not a good thing) . I will still listen to KR and support him...just lost a little respect for him, that's all.

JAMES: Since you know who I am then you know I am in a position to know the truth. I am not angry and did turn the evening into something positive. It was an incredible event. Again, many thanks need to go out to the staff of ACS, the volunteers, the restaurant owners/employees/chefs, the entertainers, and especially the corporate sponsors that decided not to back out of a charity event at the last minute. I am a huge KR fan. I think it would be difficult if many of you have seen him live as many times as I have. He is only in the position he is because of people like us that pay him money to perform live and buy his CDs/shirts/beer. Think about that statement. At the end of the day he is selling something and we are buying it. We are the customer and he is the business. He is no different than Walmart, GM or Apple. I am not knocking him, he is an extremely talented musician and so far a great businessman....but at the end of the day we are customers and he is the company. So as a customer I have the right to voice an opinion of the product I am buying. He does give a lot to charity. But it is our money that we gave him that he is giving to charity. Think about that. Now he could just put it in the bank like a lot of entertainers do and not give any of it away, so I definitely give him credit and appreciate everything he does, especially for Detroit. It's called giving back and he is a believer in it and follows up with his actions. This is a KR site so obviously we all are KR fans. But just because we are fans doesn't mean we can't be critical of him. Believe it or not, he is human, he does make mistakes. And the way he handled this situation was just wrong. That's my opinion. I feel like I laid out my opinion in a well thought out manner. Most of the posters on this are automatically defending him without even thinking about the facts. Outside of this site he is getting very bad press about this. I'm out of characters so that's all for now.

I agree that its silly to speculate. Since it was a breach of contract, there are lawyers involved and its not like they can actually talk about the details. whatever it was, it couldn't have been a random "I just don't feel like doing this today" thing. we don't know the details, and we most likely never will. but it was a breach of contract. what more needs to be said? If he was lying about it being a breach of contract, the other side would have cleared that up. they didn't. this is why we have contracts. so lets just move on, shall we?

The speculation is so annoying, it just leads to rumors...time to move on.

Anybody .....do you know "who" JGoldie "IS"????? I don't but obviously IF WE KNEW, this person claims it MIGHT MAKE A DIFFERENCE as to our thoughts....about what? IDK, but this person feels that WHO you are ON HERE could change a person's "perspective" on the whole situation. ??????? Now I'm baffled! Should I know this "person"? Am I missing something?
