We are each entitled to our own opinions. God bless America. My hope is they are well-informed. Breach of Contract has a long legal history and includes many unknown, and often unimagined of, facts. Those entitled to know all of the facts are those who are better equipped to make well-informed opinions. So to the legal question I would not render an opinion, much less a judgment. However, regarding Mr. Ritchie’s forthright communication to his fans and nay-sayers alike, I have read enough posted comments in order to form my opinion that I am disheartened at the bickering, name-calling, and resort to unimaginative offensive language pervading these comments. Kudos to each of you for getting Mr. Ritchie’s back. Because I care, I challenge each of us to stand up to be the better person we know we are in our hearts. And communicate that to ourselves and our neighbors. I’m trying my hardest to do this and some days (months, years, decades) appear quite challenging, but I feel I must try. The depth and breadth of Mr. Ritchie’s heart gives me hope because I can see how wide and deep he tries and often gracefully succeeds. Thank you, Mr. Ritchie, for giving hope. It is a good deed done in a weary world. We all have a lot of heart-scars from life’s learning curves. Living life is courageous and music helps to heal the soul. Mr. Ritchie’s been expressing his artistry all his life and based upon a host of information, he’s been helping untold numbers through it all. Hard to argue with honest success, but sometimes the honest truth hurts. The hope of peace lies within the depth and breadth of each of our own hearts and let it begin with me. I encourage you to pause and choose with each opportunity you get to be good, kind, and compassionate to yourself and to others. Let’s put the KIND back in humankind. Shine your light. It helps each of us to shine ours back to you. If you can’t see Mr. Ritchie’s heart …?; I hope someday we see.

The problem with the way Kid Rock backed out is deeper than just being disappointed that he's not performing. By backing out with such a vague excuse he is causing people to question the American Cancer Society as a charity. Read the posts here that wildly speculate KR may have quit because of where the money is going or threatening never to support the ACS if KR now doesn't. That kind of stuff is the real problem with Kid's actions. The ACS is an amazing organization and YES, the money raised tonight will all go to ACS, as it does from their Relay For Life events, Making Strides and every other ACS fundraiser, so please stop attacking the charity. Look ACS up on any of the charity rating sites. ACS does well in the % of money that goes to what they do versus administrative expense, and what they do is save lives. Nope, I don't work for ACS and I can't afford a $350 ticket. I'll be there tonight serving food as a volunteer. Yes, I would have like to have seen KId, I'm a longtime fan and hugely disappointed that he is not playing, but I'm more disappointed in how has handled quitting and the negative impression he is allowing to be laid on the American Cancer Society. I'm a long time volunteer for ACS and the comments some of you are posting here are completely irresponsible and harmful to a good cause. How can you not see that? Kid, if you truly CARE you will clear this up with your fans and restore the reputation of the ACS. It's the least you can do now.

If Kid Rock pulled out there is NO DOUBT in my mind he had good reason, after all he's also a businessman and he has a right not to be abused - would I be upset if I was going and he won't be there? Yes, but I buy concert tickets and go on his cruises to see him. I have faith in the man, he pulled out for good reason if he says so, that's good enough for me! I have typed, and retyped this post about 20 times since yesterday and deleted it each time. Who knows, maybe I'll be doing that again when I have finished. First, I am going tonight and am disappointed. I do not have the details as to what happened pertaining to the breach of contract. What I do believe is Kid has a heart of gold. Could he have gone on with the show even with the breach? Again, I don't know, it could be a legal issue, or it just may be personal. Would I have respected him more if he did? I don't know the details so I cannot formulate an opinion. What is clear to me, however, is there is no sense of empathy by the responses I have read below. You may think you are defending Kid by calling people names but instead of coming to an understanding whether mutual or not, people are being alienated and feel bullied. People who were going tonight and expecting to see Kid do have a right to be upset and that should be acknowledged. We may never know the reason, or it may come out in the end (somehow, truth always does). I remain a Kid Rock fan and will not judge until facts prove to me otherwise. I will say, the whole fiasco has put not only Kid but the ACS in a bad light. I will go tonight to support a worthy charity. I so had hoped to share my love of Kid's music with the people I am going with. No, they really were not familiar with Kid's music. These people are not "rich cowboys." Many are the movers and shakers of Detroit's professional society. Although some may have been born with silver spoons in their mouths, the majority are just like me and my husband who came from humble beginnings, put themselves through school, have an insane work ethic, and are leaders in their respective fields. It's a shame. I suspect they would have loved the performance and would have supported Kid in all of his future endeavors. So, go ahead. Take pot shots at me if you wish. I already feel shitty.

I keep reading this just hopping to see something that will ease the sting about tonight I am a huge Fan of Mr Rock and have been for many years and will continue to be! But I am not a Ass Kisser if you fuck up I will let you know! If there is a good reason to disappoint so many people and make us all look bad then lets here it? No BS just give to us straight, I think we all deserve that.
