I am a man of my word. Due to a breach of contract we will not be performing at the Cattle Baron's ball this Saturday, October 29th.

Wait a minute, if it was supposed to be one of those small venue shows to raise money for charity and Kid was the main attraction, then was there a show at all? Humm, now I'm raising my eyebrows a little bit. I'd be pissed. It's like he WAS the MAIN reason people would buy the ticket because he did PUMP it up here.....I'd be really let down. No one would have even known about it or went ahead to buy a ticket if they weren't a fan of his....Let's get real. If it was Weird Al Yankovic would you buy the ticket? Mixed emotions, it could go either way. But all in all Kid did say that he wanted to do this and he really did put it out there even if it was for charity.....No show? Major BUMMER!

Geeze what's this one all about? I must be living under a Rock! I have no clue what this concert is about, but If I may put my 2 cents in I'd say that if Kid didn't go due to a breach of contract then it is what it is. I'm looking at going after a nursing facility for the same thing....breach of contract with my mothers insurance company. I does happen and I don't think anyone here has any right at all to be mad at him. If it was a fund raiser then it's a fund raiser...it's not Kid Rock show so you should have known what you were getting into. We call it high hips and high hopes.... so ya better pull up your pants and keep on truck''in....but not TOO high now! Ha,ha,ha HELP! I love this kind of stuff it's so grade school. I guess that's why they call it childs play.

He doesn't owe anyone an explanation because this is America and he has freedom to do whatever he wants and he can choose not to perform if he doesn't want to and he is Kid Rock and he gives some of his millions to charity and true fans should just bend over and take it because he is a man of his word. Don't you know this is what our country was founded on??

You have never seen the vien poppin high intestity show that Kid Rock and his band put on everytime they step on stage if you think it's all about the money. How many lives has this one man and his crew changed for the better? Many have the ability to change lives and never do. A good deed is it's own reward. I wish I did a fraction of good that I have seen this crew do for others. I have lived on the road for years to make a living and it ain't easy. Yes the rewards can be great but the road long and tiring.

I did ALOT of research before following KR and let me tell you something I believe there was a good reason or he would not of cancelled! And you can JGOLDIE believe what you want to because you are obviously NOT a true fan. Bob has a heart of gold and if you can't see that well not our problem here. What are you so pissed about because maybe the only reason you bought the ticket was to see KR? Well you know things happen get over it! And don't pretend to have bought the ticket for "a good cause" if you are whinning so much that KR is not going to be there you bought it to see him! I stand behind his decision and I have no clue why he cancelled but I do know it had to be a good reason! People are going to think what they want about KR but he is better than your rude comments! And do you really think you are going to accomplish anything on here other than make more enemies? Get lost!

The thing IS is that YOU ARE NOT Kid Rock and YOU DON'T KNOW all the details!!! I DO KNOW what it feels like to MISS A SHOW (FRONT ROW) that I PAID HIGH PRICE for tickets!! AND a HOTEL, etc.....AND YES, I DID SUCK IT UP!!! felt SICK to my stomach and everytime I saw pictures from others here I wanted to CRY. BUT I didn't BASH my husband and call him NAMES cuz he forced me TO NOT GO!!! (He had been sick for a couple of days and decided to go to the Dr. the day I was scheduled to leave...come to find out he had had a Heart Attack 3 days before and needed a stint put in an artery. Could of been done earlier and would of been recovering at home had he went when he first fell ill!) Just leave this thread and go tell someone else your woes...PLEASE! THANK YOU!

DENISE, I don't want my money back. I support the ACS with a lot of my money and time every year. I think you would feel different if you were looking forward to seeing and meeting him at a small, private, unique venue and he cancelled the night before because he didn't like the food that was being served. Obviously that is not why he is cancelling but for you to say that he can cancel if he wants because its a free country and "to get over it" is ridiculous. There is no way you would be saying "no big deal"...you would be pissed. No one on this board would be defending him if they were planning on going to the event and he cancelled at the last minute over money.

The spokesperson for ACS & spokesperson for Kid Rock are BOTH declining comment as to why he will not be there. the only ones looking like fools are the ones here that know no idea what they are talking about and like I said previously must not be TRUE fans.

Great post Lisa M...will see at the Ball tomorrow night supporting a great cause. Hopefully KR will change his mind when he realizes how big of a fool he looks in the national media. Cancelling a performance at a charity event over money....doesn't get lower than that.

I didn't even know Kid Rock was playing at this event. Sounds to me he was asked and added late and prob after tickets sales were out. It came just as quick to me that he pulled out. It's my opinion and only that but if anyone thinks something isn't right he has the right to pull out. I thought about flying up but it was too late notice and I'm all ready set to got to Orange Beach. If I had bought airline tix and set up everything I might be a little upset but would and want to know a little more of what happened. Otherwise we all have to understand...,.shit happens.

Honestly, do you think Kid woke up THIS morning, sat up, twirled his evil moustache ala Snideley Whiplash (google if you don't know) and devised this dasterdley plan to fuck his fans over. A problem probably came up a while ago, both sides couldn't come to an agreement and here we are. Sure it is disappointing, if he chooses to tell, then so be it, if he chooses not to, then so be it. Got a secret for ya, all aspects of his life and business life just may not be any of our business. Give him a break.

I am going to my first Cattle Baron's Ball tomorrow night. I was looking forward to seeing Kid Rock-(I missed his Comerica Park dates, so when I found out he was going to be @ Cattle Baron's, I was EXCITED!) Then I hear today that he canceled. What a bummer. I'm going to the Ball anyway-it IS for a good cause after all. But, I am HUGELY disappointed that KR won't be there. Some of the fun and the excitement has gone out of the evening for me. Someone posted that ACS should "get someone else". How can anyone replace a major headliner like KR on one of the busiest party nights of the year with 1 day notice? Detroit is not New York – celebrities do not grow on trees here. Mr. Ritchie, I think your decision was VERY unprofessional. A lot of people worked hard to make this event special. They aren't concert promoters or tour organizers trying to get rich, they aren't trying to screw you or anybody else over...they are volunteers or folks working for a CHARITY trying to raise money to help people. You have let them all down, as well as people like me, who were hoping to see (and maybe even meet!!) you. I was going to write that you owe us some kind of explanation. But that isn’t true. You don’t owe me anything. But I would like to ASK you for an explanation, and dare I say it-an apology. I am really struggling to reconcile your decision with what I thought I knew about you…that you were a man of your word; that you cared deeply about my city-OUR CITY. Don’t you see that this fiasco just adds more credence to the country's opinion that we in the D do not have our proverbial shit together? That this is another broken promise, “yet another black eye” as someone aptly posted? And all because some radio station called the event a "concert" instead of whatever your contract said it was supposed to be called...wow. I just don’t know what to say to that. It seems like a pretty small reason to walk away…to me anyway. Is your post really all you have to say?
