The Trews frontman Colin MacDonald recently spoke to RockAAA.com about being on tour, recording their new album and how Kid Rock helped the band improved their show by giving them live DVDs. Here are some highlights from the interview:

It was during a tour with Kid Rock that following The Trews show he handed the Canadian rockers a live DVD of their performance – a trend he continued for every date of their tour.

And MacDonald admits it gave them the chance to see, rate and break down their own live performance critically for the first time – something they did on their tour bus on the road between dates – which was something he is convinced has helped make the band a better live act.

“Yes he (Kid Rock) did (give us live DVDs) and it was a great way for us to improve our show. It was very objective as we weren’t relying on anybody else’s feedback which is usually skewed by alcohol or other substances.

“I highly recommend that every band tried this at least once. It was a great learning tool.”

Don't have to be down on your luck either. Maybe you know someone who did something real unselfish or rebuilt a bridge between fam or friends. Maybe these tix are a just reward for you. Do you know who I am?

And I'm not a gay groupie or nuttin like that. Supportive if you are. But it's not me. I'm trying to throw a party that's all. Don't know about Orange Beach AL but if someone can find me a spot for an after concert party I would love to host it. On me. Or if someone has other ideas on how to squander some money let me know.

It's more than nice. Hooking someone up with great Kid Rock Tickets!!! Kid Mofo Rock!!! This will be my 3rd concert this year. Fourth total. This is selfish of me. Believe me this is a selfish thing I'm doing.

Or I can send the tix somewhere.

OK so I bought 2 tix on a reliable site for the Orange Beach Show. Great seats too. I really like sitting front row and I saw 2 other tix after I bought the first pair that I believe are front row so I bought those too. The seller hasn't confirmed on their end yet but that should happen today. If I get both pair I want to do something nice and give the other pair away to someone who otherwise wouldn't be able to go. Stay tuned later today and I will let you know as soon as the second purchase is confirmed. I will give you an email address and you can tell me about someone other than yourself who really deserves a break. No catches and I will put the tix at will call in thier name.

I love people who want to share with others what they know. I teach 8th grade in Toledo Ohio ( I know you know where that is. . . right over the border from both our home state :) BUT , I would LOVE for you to continue to teach and come and visit my kids here in this urban school. . . Showing kids what is possible if you don't give up :)

I think I heard a few times that if you wanna be a public speaker.. ya need to get in front of a mirror, and build up on that thing they call charisma. What better way than a video.. eh? lol

The Trews were a great opening band in London Ontario in May. They will be successful.

Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy, dud'nt it! Congrats to Trews/Colin Mac on steppin it up a notch. Just remember to pay it forward to some up and comers when you get the opportunity. It comes back 1000.00 fold, just ask Bob. ^m^ ^m^ rock on! kc
