The Trews frontman Colin MacDonald recently spoke to RockAAA.com about being on tour, recording their new album and how Kid Rock helped the band improved their show by giving them live DVDs. Here are some highlights from the interview:
It was during a tour with Kid Rock that following The Trews show he handed the Canadian rockers a live DVD of their performance – a trend he continued for every date of their tour.
And MacDonald admits it gave them the chance to see, rate and break down their own live performance critically for the first time – something they did on their tour bus on the road between dates – which was something he is convinced has helped make the band a better live act.
“Yes he (Kid Rock) did (give us live DVDs) and it was a great way for us to improve our show. It was very objective as we weren’t relying on anybody else’s feedback which is usually skewed by alcohol or other substances.
“I highly recommend that every band tried this at least once. It was a great learning tool.”
