    Maybe the folks over at Pure Michigan need to give Kid Rock a call.

    According to today's Mining-Journal, folks can't get enough of the Pictured Rocks in Munising -- which were featured prominently in Rock's "Born Free" video last year.

    National Park Service statistics for Pictured Rocks showed August visitation up 43.47 percent over last year. Those figures followed a 31.79 percent increase in June and 14.81 percent increase in July.

    At the National Park Service-U.S. Forest Service Interagency Visitor Center in Munising, which services Pictured Rocks and the Hiawatha National Forest, it was so packed with visitors at times staff found it hard to answer the phone.

Being a Michigander I have previously visited Pictured Rock but not since I was just a little squirt. I was hoping to go up a few weeks ago while the leave were turning but did not get to. I am still hoping to pay a visit in the spring though. Pictured Rock is beautiful and is well represented by Kid Rock. "visitation up 43.47 percent over last year," I have to imagine that has sparked the local Munising economy and the aided the faltering Michigan economy. It is nice that Kid Rock cares about his roots and does what he can to help. Carrie and I will be at the Chicago "Care" concert later this month that Kid Rock is doing to raise money for charities around the country.

awesome video, beautiful pictures and its cool, that people realize what beauty they have around them and visit. Just hope, that they ll keep it natural and not make to horrible changes, which attract more tourists, and become all about money money money.......

Crossing over the Mighty MI Mac is a great start to a rewarding adventure to the Upper Pennisula of Michigan. Pictured Rock is "One" of the many beautiful attractions that lives within the "Yooper Land" It's a pleasure to watch the video and soak up the beauty of this land. A headband of Michigan. Believe me I know. I met this doctor who I worked with for years before I got to know him and he taught bible study at the seminary and proclaimed himself as bapticostal, whatever the hell that means, anyway he turned out to be the biggest sociopath perv. Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers, good ole Garth Brooks- he was right. Sometimes we want what we think we should have only to find out it may not be in our best interest or better yet just for the thrill of the chase in something we can't have or that is a challenge. You probably wouldn't want it if it were available and what kind of priest is he if there is sexual innuendo as I thought they were sworn to be celebate. Not sure cause I am baptist. Just saying be careful in what u think you want. I would have loved to see that pic cause I'm still smiling from bathtub seen. Ya it was probably all planned out but what rockstar that you know of has done that. It's a first for me other than David Lee Roth in Van Halen putting a towel around him and pulling his pants down back in the 80's. Just love Kidd , that nut.

I Love to see Kid Rock on the billboard on the highway. it's awesome.just after exit #310 northbound I-75. Michigan. It makes me smile all weekend to see him on my way to our lake house. Thanks for thinking of me! lol

RJL1969....You mean his cousin Ellie Mae? It was a joke. You should have been to the Pittsburgh, Pa. show to see the picture that Sherly Crow put up of him standing on what appeared to be the edge of a waterbed with just a cowboy hat on and a cigar and possibly the radio on from what I recall. Now I'd love to have that photo but it would drive me crazier than I already am, and the general public wouldn't appreciate it. I did not intend to make light of what is a really beautiful picture of that place with the rocks in Michigan. Kid Rock just happens to bring out the animal in me, it must be something he did to us long time fans along the way a long time ago. It's all his fault (only kidding). Baby I was born this way and I will never pretend to be a prude, but I am not a slut either. It's all good and it's all in fun....now get in the pitt and try to love someone! I'm just a good Catholic girl gone bad....what else can I say? I do appologise and will try to be more polite and will pray about it at Mass today (while I'm eyeballing my poor priest with lust).....Lord help me! Thank you for pointing it out, we must learn from our mistakes.

Northern Michigan IS absolutely gorgeous and great for ridin Harleys. We have 2 cabins in the Upper Peninsula. Ridin there is awesome!!

Now have the IT team fix those damn spammers. Have they not come up with another idea yet. Like anti spam program that doesn't let any spam through and flags it to be deleted. Come on Kid, youve got everything else so where is your IT team? They should be on it 24/7 and that way fans can enjoy the site and go shopping at your store or on a different site.

I can see how and think that is a wonderful idea. I loved the video and it definitely made me want to go. It was beautiful! The feelings it brought out by watching the beautiful scenery and portraits of history were definitely wonderful marketing tools. Again what genius producing and marketing teams Kid has. Kudos and keep up the good work. I love everything about it. From beer, to half price tees, to awesome music, you guys all rock and then give back some with charity. You have the market cornered and I love being in the corner from the girl in red,white, and blue.

They are quite beautiful indeed. But to be honest I wouldn't mind seeing a picture of Kid Rocks family jewels, I'm sure they ROCK no pun intended! My mind has been in the gutter lately, sorry to have offended anyone.....And why would they cut him out? Can't they take their own pictures? Those rocks aren't going anywhere.....talk about lazy! That would kind of piss me off, but that's just me.

I saw a billboard on my way up to Evart, MI this Summer. Nice! If I had more time I would go to Pictured Rocks just because of the Kid Rock promo. Made me see the beauty of the area. Did you know the rest of the video was shot not far from his home in Clarkston? It was on a local dairy farm. Michigan is beautiful!!

I watched the video. That was funny.(the band singing part-go Foo Fighters) First of all,John Calvin was not and is not Jesus.I will not spam your space,so if you want to go to wikipedia,search Calvinism. Maybe that lady needs to read the part of the page titled(Irresistable Grace). Maybe she forgot to study all the materials.Too busy waving signs. I guess to get a tax deduction,they have to do something. If she were reading the right materials,such as "The Bible" she would know that,many are called,few are chosen. I know that,You know that,she does not know that. Maybe You could write a song about picketing funerals? I know one thing. Not in the South. However,she did seem to enjoy the music. If she pickets funerals,she surely would not like my page.

That is so great. It is a beautiful area. Some of my friends told me they visited for the first time this year. The boat tours aren't cheap, but they are breath-taking. Instead of taking the boat tour, hike into the park area for some spectacular views and photo ops (just don't take the 8 mile walk like we did--by mile 4 I was ready to call a helicopter-lol)
