    Kid Rock Teams Up With Food Network's Guy Fieri

    Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” came to Clarkston to feature Kid Rock at one of his favorite restaurants, Clarkston Union Bar & Kitchen — a restaurant converted from a 1840’s church to a bar in 1996.

    “Out of everything you could have taken me to, you took me to a church that makes mac and cheese,” said Fieri, host of the program that features the most unique restaurants in America, to Kid Rock.

    “They also serve good beer,” added Kid Rock, with a smirk. The musician is the creator of Badass Beer that the restaurant sells.

    Food Network staff said the Clarkston Union episode should air within the next six months. Fieri said the episode will be historic piece for “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.”

    "When we started this whole idea about coming to Detroit to shoot a couple years ago, because we hadn't shot up in this area for awhile, Kid and I started talking. I said, 'Tell me some of your favorite joints, man. Tell me what you dig.' And (Clarkston Union Diner) was one of his picks,” Fieri said. "This is Kid Rock's backyard.”

    Fieri said after this episode airs, life will never be the same for Clarkston Union owner Curt Catallo.

Loved "The Union" the food was great so was the staff and the customers were very much part of it-very cool place!!!

that is just way cool cause i love that show but dang mc and cheese is my stample i ant no good cook but sure love to eat and beer well come on who dont like sum cold ass brew i want to get that badass beer someday in my system to try whoop whoop he just way cool a restrant pub in a church smooth it is way to go R.J. Here in Southwestern Pa. we've been turning churches into bars, nightclubs, and resturants for what seems like centuries now. It seems strange but what else would you do if the building is left vacant? We have some landmark church buildings that are actually beer brewerys as well. Gee come to think of it I'd like to go to The Church Brew Works for lunch today.....yummy, yummy.

Glad I saw it on the news, I was in Clarkston in a flash. I got a couple of cool pictures, of Bobby and his car!! Hope the web crew keeps us posted as to when it will air so I can DVR it.

Too cool. Kid reminds me so much of me that I think I could him...ha,ha,ha (I wish). Anyway that sounds like a fun episode to watch for sure! My friend and I happened to be eating at one of our local favorite dives and low and behold the the food channel was comming in with the cameras! We had heard they were gonna shoot there but we had no clue it was going to be that day. Anyway we were just about done and my friend didn't want to wait for Guy to come in. The more I think about it it would have been really fun, but she was a party pooper that day...actually she's one everyday so what's the difference right? Can't wait to tune in! Damn that food channel makes me hungy, but this time I'll just be more hungry for Kid! Oh dear! Help!

Too cool, I watch that show all the time. Never been to the Union Bar, not exactly right around the corner for me....guess if I'm gonna go there sometime I should do it before the show airs....think I'll go for my birthday dinner in Dec. make a special trip out there.
