Announced about an hour ago from the Wharf in Orange Beach, AL - Kid Rock reschedule date is Saturday, Nov. 12, 2001 at 8:00 p.m. Woo Hoo... the waiting and anticipation is finally over.

Busy, Please let us know the re-schedule date. There's a rumor going around on Facebook that the new date is Oct. 14th. several of us have made reservations for that date because it's also the Annual Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores. That makes it very difficult to get a room. Not sure where this rumor came from but, we are all freakin out...ticketmaster says if we do not request a refund by Sept. 17th (this weekend) we lose our money. There are about 14 of us that have been on the CTM cruises planning to attend this show. We are all so unsure as to what to do or believe. We've invested quite a bit of money for this trip & as I said we have to request a refund by this Sat. PLEASE HELP!!! I also called The Wharf & they tell me that they have had tons of phone calls & yet they can not confirm a date at this time!! Again, HELP!!! Thanks for all your time & efforts!

Anyone hear anything about a new date? Its been a week since cancelled show.
GERRI ARMSTRONG's picture

Michelle, Having lived through the worst tornados in the history of our state this year, I can certainly understand your stress. I saw the lasting effects of an angry mother nature while driving to New Orleans for the cruise last April. My mind could not wrap around just how terrible it must have been. I only replied because it seemed you were attacking someone who obviously didn't know the losses that you have experienced. I guess "no good deed goes unpunished". I appreciate your latest comment and hope you find peace in times to come. No, we have heard nothing about the reschedule of the concert either. Maybe something tomorrow. Hope to see you there, also. I'll be the old chic down front!

Hey BUSY, wanted to let you know the post that was on the Calendar of Events section of the Gulf Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau Website that had 10/14 as KR at the Wharf has been deleted. It is no longer posted on their site. Now the only place on that Platinum Tickets or what not listed below. I checked Ticketmaster and they too said date tba. Any info you get would be great!
Michelle_87's picture

Gerri, you know what, I'm fully aware it's not a p___ing contest. I started this message with the intent to blast away, but taking a moment to consider, I think maybe instead I would like to apologize for my comments, nor was it my intention for it to seem that way. The hurricanes of 2005 & 2008 are still very front and center on my end b/c the effects are still affecting my family almost daily in someway or another. The original comment struck a nerve, and along with the added stress of the unknown about the storms route, I was not in the most tolerable mood at that point in time of reading it. I come on the site to find out news about the show and the first thing I see, in my opinion, was someone, who was not very knowledgeable of what type of planning goes on to ensure people's safety. It just sounded to me like something an extremely selfish two year old would say. That's all. Then here you come, from AL, criticizing me b/c I was standing up for KR. That honestly, pushed the livid button, I couldn't understand who wouldn't stand up for him. So all in all, because I flew off the handle instead of passing over what sometimes seems like very childish comments, like I normally do (b/c seriously who has the time to try and give some insight on what we know personally to someone who could care less), I let it get to me. So for what it's worth, I I apologize if my reply to your opinion of my comments seemed harsh or rude. So, on another note, seeing that you are from AL, have you heard anything about the reschedule date? Mums still the word from the Wharf, KRC, Artists Arena, and Ticketmaster. Have a great remainder of the weekend. Hope to see you at the show. Michelle
GERRI ARMSTRONG's picture

MICHELLE, Whatever. This is not the place for that p_ _ _ing contest.
Angela_12's picture

Here is another website showing the reschedule date for October 14, 2011. Busy can you confirm this date? http://www.platinumtickets.com/kid_rock_tickets.html Thanks, Angela

Hey 62 yr old Gerri, I was being nice and apologized ahead of time. And I don't think I was speaking to you, but since you feel the need to slap at me for defending Kid Rock i have a couple of words for you. You can kiss my Louisiana Ass. If you live in AL then you know how freakin dangerous it was down there this past weekend. Obviously and correct me if I'm wrong, you haven't been directly impacted by a hurricane in the last 10 years and had to start completely ove, b/c if you had then you wouldn't be calling me out on my opinions. The comments I read irritated the hell out of me and I'm not going to sit by and not say anything at all about it. I think everyone was disappointed, but unfair. Unfair that he cancelled? or Unfair that the storm came? That comment was so immature. You need to get a grip and get off my ass. Is Freedom of Speech not honorable enough for you on both sides of the fence? Are you one of those that can't play well with others or don't know how to agree to disagree. If you are at the age of 62, I totally feel for you. Peace

Whew, was considering booking a trip for this show, but didn't. Thank goodness. As long as everyone is safe that is all the matters. I saw KR & TBT years ago play at Orange Beach, AL, it was the best. The day before the show, I was on the beach with a few of my friends. I was coming out of the water after a swim and literally bumped into Bob Ritchie, SERIOUSLY, I did. I didn't realize it was him b/c there was a big wave that came over me and dumped my hair in front of my face (thus why I couldn't see clearly). I was like, I'm sorry, he was like, it's all good. After I cleared the hair from my face & looked to see who I bumped into, I realized it was him. He came back n' chatted with my friends & I for a bit. What a ToTally Awesome Person. :) TRUE STORY. :) Peace, Luv & Rock n' Roll SherZ

OMG, the website I listed below with the date of Oct. 14, 2011 reschedule at the Wharf in Orange Beach is WRONG!!!! I talked with them at the Gulf Shores Info Center and they said the info was verified prior to posting but according to the Wharf, the date is not set yet. UGHHHHHHH!!!! This has really complicated things for me! OK now waiting to hear when the reschedule date will be. Hopefully we know something soon!
anna_12's picture

maybe # 40 will be in OCT- only 9 hours from Sarasota!
rocksavedmysoul's picture

Let's see. . .Kid kicked off with record cold temps in Detroit for his 40 Field Bash, massive snow storms and ice storms then followed the tour. In the summer, record high temps. Kid managed to squeeze in two concerts between Hurricane Irene in North Carolina, and now a tropical storm...what a year, huh? Bet you all have great stories to tell. . .
GERRI ARMSTRONG's picture

MICHELLE...GET A GRIP!!!!!!!! First of all, KR doesn't need you to defend him. Second of all, who died and gave you the right to down someone with your "sarcasam". I'm 62 and from Alabama. We all know what horrible things floods can do. I'M STILL DISAPPOINTED. I'll bet KR can give a hell of a hurricane party!!! Lighten up a little.
jotajota's picture

If you need rooms for the re-schedule date we have them. www.perdidocottages.com. 850-492-2214. We also have 3 condos for rent. 2 at Florencia and 1 at beach colony.

Wow - pretty cool that he offered an alternative to folks either to go w/ reschedule or... to get a refund as stated in the post above. I know if it hadn't turned for Charlotte show, he would have done the same. He has done a lot of work w/ flood victims through Red Cross and such, so his sense of what these storms can do has been fine tuned so to speak. My friends 4 hours away that WERE effected by the storm are still cleaning up. Others, unfortunately, lost their lives, so Good Call for ALL!!! Especially w/ giving folks the chance to refund. God Bless Him for being so thoughtful!! :))) ps - Mr. Bobby I have friends down at the Wharf - they are still stoked for the Show in I think they said, October! God Bless You Loads!!! :)))

http://www.gulfshores.com/things-to-do/calendar-events/details.aspx?id=5041 This shows the Kid Rock concert rescheduled for October 14, 2011! Woo Hoo, that is also Shrimp Fest Weekend so those of you needing accomodations, you better start working on that! I have already blocked the dates in my unit for us! I am so excited. We were so excited for this weekend cause I love me some Kid Rock!!!! Saw him in February in Birmingham and Love IT!!!! Can't wait to see my boyfriend again!

http://news.yahoo.com/weakened-lee-still-poses-flood-threat-south-071130553.html Hey little one who had doubts about the legitamacy of KR's decision to cancel Gulf Shores. Check out the story on Tropical Storm Lee and the dangers that "unpredictable" storm is still causing in Alabama as of the early hours of Labor Day.
Michelle_87's picture

Hey Busy, Can you check something for me please? The Gulf Coast CVB has October 14th as the reschedule date for the Wharf. www.gulfcoast.com. Go to their things to do link. Is it for real? Can you find out?
Michelle_87's picture

im with you Jackie, Orange Beach makes 3 this yr. I think I am excited as I was for the other two, and I had front stage access at Jazz Fest. I know some would be happy with listening in the parking lot!!!!!!
Jackie_45's picture

I still feel like the decision to postpone was a good one. We've already had several tornadoes in the area today. Flash floods and thunderstorms popping up all over. Winds are carrying sand from the beach onto the streets, drouble red flags on the beaches because of the dangerous waves and undertows. I'm as excited as the next person to attend the concert but I want to enjoy the entire experience and not have to worry about what's going to pop up next with the storm.
Michelle_87's picture

Deb Pyper, Apologies first of all for any sarcasm that appears in this comment. 1st of all: How old are you? 2nd question: Do you live in a bubble near the Gulf of Mexico or the East Coast annually between June 1-Nov 30? Those dates each year: Hurricane Season. Grow up and stop being so selfish please. These "unpredictable' storms have caused my friends & family to lose everything in Louisiana twice in the last 6yrs, (it wasn't from Katrina FYI. We are fortunate to have a real person in Kid Rock who cares what is best for everyone, instead of just taking your hard-earned money. The dude doesn't cancel b/c he' has a bad day; the freakin conditions have to be beyond his control. In Feb. we saw him in Bossier. Directly after the show, crew and equip. headed to Little Rock. They hit freezing conditions that popped up similar to this Tropical Storm. Search the newsfeed here on Feb. 9or10. Look at pic of accident involving one of the rigs. Guess what caused that accident: bad driving conditions due to the weather. Have you ever driven in rain where you can't see tailights directly in front of you, b/c that's what I-10 was like from TX-AL. My family were in AL last Thurs., they had to drive home Sat. Between flooding, the wind and walls of rain, it was absolute hell driving on I-10. I know you are disappointed, but think you would have been able to see, hear, much less stand in open arena with 40-55 mph winds w/ rain? Would you have thought it fair for someone to be struck by lightning or a tornado, or band member electricuted before you felt he it was justified to cancel? Refunds are offered, if you have recoup your cost from taking off work. Please, whatever you do, try not to be bitter and do what you can to see the show. I promise you once you see them perform, you will forget how disappointed you were. They have to reschedule around his summer tour and the venue's entertainment schedule. Hopefully that provides you the time to rearrange your work schedule. ciao

So disappointed that the concert was postponed in Orange Beach, AL..............I live so far away......yes it will be rescheduled, but now I have these tickets, took time off of work, won't be able to go to the rescheduled one. Now what? I realized weather is unpredictable but this is so unfair. I have waited so long and drove so far to see Kid Rock........booo hoooo....

Thank you all who work on this show! Bob Richie (Kid Rock), the band, the crew, the venue, etc....the list goes on. Please remember how many people work on this show. He rarely ever cancels! He is the best at what he does and always is great to his fans...he keeps his ticket prices down and sometimes loses money! I really respect him. I know he works so hard and how lucky you are that he is rescheduling. I had the complete privilege of seeing the show on 8/24 at Raleigh,NC. It was all out the best I've ever seen but I said the same when I saw him in 2009 and 2005. My nephew was hit by a drunk driver on 8/19 and got banged up and broke a leg and has a torn acl. We could not keep him from the concert! He was blooded and bruised and in extreme pain. He sang every song and so loved the show! Also, hurricane Irene was due to hit in two days, it was about 103 out so on stage triple that. Kid Rock is one of my heroes! He loves America, loves his family and friends but also includes his fans! I wish I could thank him for all the joy he has brought to us. Thank you for keeping ticket prices down, The best ever. Kid Rock loves to entertain! He is a gift. I love being a fan!
Jackie_45's picture

Wow Tina, didn't mean to make you yell. I'm not saying that no one cares how far you drove to get here because I know that it does mean a lot to the artists. But safety of the fans and band members should be the main concern when deciding whether to cancel a show or not. As for the weather changing...I hope it does. I already have a lake in my backyard from yesterday and todays rain. BTW, my trip to WalMart today was thru a blinding rain and heavy winds. Tree limbs and branches falling every where. Wasn't raining at all when I left home. I think that "Mr Ritchie" postponing the show, shows his loyalty and dedication to his fans and his band. Like you said, I'm just expressing my opinion. I hope everyone stays safe and enjoys the weekend.
