    Kid Rock Honored At The 18th Annual 'Partners Golf Classic'

    Kid Rock and his foundation got honored today during the 18th Annual 'Partners Golf Classic' for his support of Detroit and the 'Karmanos Cancer Institute.' The event took place in Franklin, MI at 'Franklin Hills Country Club.'

    Nick Karmanos, senior vice president of 'Institutional Relations,' had the following to say from an excerpt posted on WXYZ.com: - "This year, we have chosen to honor Kid Rock and his foundation for the extraordinary philanthropy that he's shown to the Detroit community and his generous support for the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute in particular." "It's wonderful when a Michigan native like Kid Rock finds success, but also remembers his roots and shows a real commitment to improving his hometown." For more info, visit Karmanos.org.

Thanks Kid for being the incredible person you are, I lost my mom to cancer about 7 yrs ago and truly appreciate your support to the cause. Some of my best memories was when I took my mom to your concerts in 01, and 02, I remember how much fun we had, and she absolutely loved you!! I am hoping I get to see you in April on the cruise, I am on standby for a cabin so I will hope and pray I get one! Keep up the good work, Love ya!!

I bought my Rosie tee just for this reason cause the money went to this very special cause and I wear my tee with great pride and love. Cancer has been in and out of my life for some time and it was and is very special that you did this-I'm so glad you, Robert Ritchie were honored for this and your foundation! I so much appreciate your dedication to Detroit and your roots! I think Detroit is a wonderful city, born and raised there myself. I can't do the things you can do, but I attend everything I can in the city. I hope someday to meet you, as I know so many others do, but I just keep praying for that day to come. You are a true inspiration, maybe a bit of a rebel, but then it has worked out for you. Thanks for being yourself and having the courage to stand up for what you believe in...........You are the best!!!!

Congratulations on being honored, very nice. I saw that the Partners Night dinner is going to be on Sept.17 I assume Kid would be there....bummed, that's the same day of the MI Fest music festival at M.I.S. where Sheryl is headlining I was hoping Kid would show up & do a couple songs with her. I saw Kid twice this tour & never saw them together :(
