Here is an excerpt of an interview Kid Rock recently did with 'Omaha World-Herald.'

    Q. You've been known for having big productions with dancers and pyrotechnics. What do you have in store for Omaha?

    A. I try to be creative with the music first. That's the most important thing.

But this tour is the biggest we've had. I just said, "You know what, it's summertime. Let's go back to having fun. Let's give people everything. Let's give 'em the lasers and the fire and just things we've toned down."

You know, we used to have girls dancing a lot. Now it's just one or two songs. Now we're doing acoustic stuff. I'll sit at a piano and play a song by myself. New songs, like this song I do about turning 40.

I dig giving people a show. I'd definitely call myself an entertainer first.

    Q. Do you still party it up when you're on the road?

    A. Yeah. I like to have a good time. I just pick and choose my days a little wiser. It's not fun not sleeping and having to get onstage. It's not fair for the crowd either.

I think I have a night off after Omaha, so I'll probably have a good time.

    Q. You were talking about your song, "(Expletive) Forty." Do you feel older or do you still have a "middle finger in the air" kind of attitude?

    A. After bouncing up and down to "Bawitdaba" at 40, I can feel it in the lower back the next morning sometimes. I said coming into this whole 40 thing, I have never been one to get into battles that I can't win. That's definitely a losing battle so I'm just gonna embrace it, and I'm looking forward to 50. That's my approach.

I think Kid Rock is hotter at 40 than any 21 year old man any damn day ! The show last night was amazing & I would gladly pay any amount money to come out and have a good time like I did last night. Hope ya'all enjoyed our company too ! Thank you to the firehose crew, kept me cool most the night. Bob is 1 of the true blue, bad ass, music makin' Americans and stands up for what he believes in & gives back 10 fold. God bless him for helping all of us in our time of need with the flood.

Great article - thanks for sharing w/ us! Good read and really a lot about the art of the music and shows. As always showing appreciation for his fans - cool!!! :)

Wait, he said he had lower back pain....he should go to a chiropracter. My 35 pound pug gave me a curve in my lower back after carrying him for blocks for 2 yrs. before he died and it was the best thing I ever did. The pain was so bad I couldn't even get out of bed or stand up straight for a day! It was hard just to turn over in bed, I had to literally hold onto my headboard just to turn over! Hey, at least Kid didn't break-a-leg! You Go Boy!

Tea and honey baby.....or some coffee, tea, or ME!

I could tell his voice was much better at the Pttsburgh show than from him singing last year on the CMA's. I'd say if you're not Rod Stewart take care of your voice. Let's face it Rod Stewart wouldn't be Rod Stewart without that raspy voice, but I'll bet it's naturally that way. It can become distinctive or even like a trademark, but in reality if it's due to smoking or drinking it can very well do some damage. He's smart to ease up on the partying while touring....Gravity catches up to all of us and personally I cherish my energy and have put partying in my past....But I have way more fun now than without it, all I need is a sip of alcohol and I'm right where I was after a case of beer! I like my low tolerance without the hangover! I can't wait to hear ther next record, it sounds like he's gonna mix one hell of a combo! He's the Master Blaster....No one can cut faster! Can't wait....Make it FAST! No make it FASTER! ha,ha,ha! Or how about faster than fast?! Love Kid! He keeps me going....Only God knows why!

I am sooo bummed. This is the closest travel for me he will be performing. It's only a 3 -3 .5 hour drive for me to Omaha. Also have the next few days off work too !!! I had planned a trip out to Omaha and then onto Lincoln tomorrow but those plans have been canceled. I can't seem to get a break money wise. I am sure all the tickets are sold out by now ! If something would happened that allows me to go, I would go in a heart beat. And they say money is the root of all evil ... I don't believe that ... I believe it's the lack of money is the root of evil !!! Be safe ... take good care and God Bless !

Nah, Bob doesn't need a Facebook account, lol. And let me tell ya, Bob, 50 is freakin' fabulous!!! Just met that milestone this year. Feels just like 40, or 30, except you can't drink or eat as much as you want to anymore, the metabolism finally slows down, he hee Plus, as you get older, you care even LESS what ppl think of the way you live your life--it's very liberating!! Bring it on :)

Marian_4's picture

I've seen You dance around, that should make You feel good, all that circulation.Maybe You need to let a docter check your backache. It could be several things, most times can be corrected.Could be a pinched nerve, could be bones fusing together(You don't want them to fuse, limits movement),sometimes as people age the disks in their spines compress and pinch nerves.I personally, want an inversion table,I have always wanted to hang upside down like a bat, sounds like fun. This aging thing is messed up.I am looking for that dang fountain of Youth right now.

Enjoying you sitting at the piano and singing as well as Bawitdaba. I like the slow and meaningful songs. You really hit some deep things and I catch some new meaning everytime I listen. Glad you're enjoying partying but pacing yourself. I'm still forgetting I'm almost 53 and I managed to remind myself of that one night last week!! Think I'll remember from now on. Hahah!! Take care of your back and keep moving. I find little aches and pains where I never thought I would hurt as I age. But I'm enjoying the journey!!
marlenej's picture

Hey BOB! My girlfriends say that your looking for a girlfriend. Hey Im it/. Good ole country girl. A little older, but i can hang with ya all night. Your so hot and I go to all your concerts i can. I have loved you for years. & If you think you can handle a good ole-tried and true all american girl give me a shout. Ill Try anything once and You will have a good time. I dont care about your past and I dont judge. I would just love to hang out and Have alot of fun with ya. Lets see whats up. & i love the fact that you wear jeans and t-shirts-its my favorite attire. and Tennis shoes. Stop being a bad boy and lets have a talk. I work in wichita at JCP> tw. Call me ok. Your a super guy that has too many people in your life for the wrong reasons and I would like to show you that all girls are not created equal. Inside those pretty little wrappers are usually some pretty ugly women that have other motives than making you happy. I would do my best. ALl for =now . Love ya Marlene
