Kid Rock Shares Wisdom With Cover Contest Finalists the Sheepdogs

Choose the Cover contest finalists the Sheepdogs met up with Kid Rock at the Borgata in Atlantic City shortly after their appearance at the Bonnaroo festival.

Rock only recently became aware of the band's music, but he's a big fan of their retro sound. "That great blues rock and roll music, it's not about trickery, it's about the feeling, it's about the harmonies, it's about the singing, the playing, a band," Rock told the group. "I was playing [your songs] for my friends, like, hey check this out. These guys got it."

Rock also offered some words of encouragement for the Canadian boogie rockers. "The advice I'd give to you guys is, do exactly what you're doing and tell everybody to fuck off," Rock says. "Don't let 'em try to change ya, and just be yourselves."

You can check out the Sheepdogs' meeting with Kid Rock in the video below. If you like the 'Dogs as much as Kid Rock does, be sure to vote for them today. Voting in the final round of the contest will close on July 1st.

Love Marvin Gaye, too. Love that you stuck your hand out and said "I'm Bobby." Twenty-six, Twenty-seven, in your prime? BS. Nope-it's 40 baby-LOL!

Kid Rock...I love you and your music. The lyrics totally relate to me and my life. Will you marry me?

Kidrocket99 - If I'm not mistaken the jeans that he had on in Germany, that the host tore the zipper catch off of had the American flag on them. This is just a pattern.

Pretty soon we'll call him Papa Kid, then Grandpa Kid....The father of the new Millinemun of rock and rollers.....At least he wishes them well and hopes they win in their music.....now that's a good boy! Aren't those jeans the ones that weinersnitzel from Germany ripped by accident on tv? He must have got them repaired or had a spare pair.

Awesome!

I tried to get in another vote today...but it will only let me have one vote total. Oh well, hope they get enough to win.

Kid totally reminds me of Beetlejuice when he sits like that! So cool. Me and an old boyfriend of mine called off work once at a place we worked at on a Saturday (in a hair salon that's considered sacreligious), anyway we called off just to watch the cartoon Beetlejuice, one of my favorites. Now I know what the Beastie Boys meant when they said "I'll kick ya out of my house if yu don't CUT THAT HAIR". And what my dad meant when he said that we liked to watch CAVEMEN.....No offense but that 70's look gotta go....I remember Kid saying on an interview once, "Those 70's rockers were some ulgy ma-fuckers". He was so right but the music was great. They looked alot older than they are, maybe that's why Kid asked them how old they were. I'd hate to be a teenage girl these days.....slim pick'ins! If it looks good you'll see it........But if it's real you'll feel it. Am I being a bit shallow?

I like his new biker boots....Did he trade in his pythons for them? What's a click track? My dog used to click all the time, literally sit there and click with his tongue and smile every breath he took.....click,click,click....Now the clock keeps on ticking till we meet again!

I used to sew and decorate my jeans to look just like that in the 70's. Bobby, who sews your jeans??!! ;-)

Yup.. They do sound like bad company, don't they. I don't know. (ha ha ha.) I'd let it ride. Not to shabby. Seether... their new song what is it...country song. I like the nearly new rip sound.

Bob, they got my vote. Now I am going to have the "Who" song stuck in my head all day, lol. Small price to pay to hear some good music. Hope they are here to stay!

Absolutely awesome interview all the way around. Noticed lately that you have been wearing a watch Bob, U ToTally know what time it is. Rock on my friend. KR & TBT are the best band & people in the industry. I have to say though, The Sheepdogs are pretty sweet. Way to go on landing the cover of The Rolling Stone.
