    Students at Romeo High School got a surprise visitor during an assembly Wednesday. Kid Rock dropped off a big donation to help his Alma Mater's music program. He donated $5,000 to the school's performing arts program, which matches a donation already made by the Grammy Foundation and Best Buy Mobile. Students said his biggest contribution wasn't money, it was his presence and advice. "Don't hang out with idiots," Kid Rock said. "Surround yourself with good people. If you surround yourself with good people, you'll go far. If you start hanging out with knuckleheads, you'll be right in the knucklehead section the rest of your life."

A no bullshit, straight forward, big an kind hearted ROCK STAR!!...You POP up where an when it's least expected and do WONDERFUL LIFE CHANGING THINGS FOR NOT ONLY YOUR HOME TOWN BUT THE STATE OF MICHIGAN. Feel free to just POP up on my doorstep anytime...lol...I may faint but stick around I would eventually come around..lol.. You have a HUGE heart I'm glad I paid to see you in concert live with the VIP package. I know my hard earned money wont be waisted, because of all the people you help out with there charities. Those kid's will never forget that day for the rest of there life. GREAT JOB, BY AN EVEN GREATER MAN!!!...KEEP ROCKING ON...SEE YA IN AUGUST!!

Wait most of my friends are all knuckleheads and who am I to judge?....I try to set a good example, but try to teach an old dog new tricks....very hard to do. It's sad to have to cut some of them off, but sometimes it's necessary to advance mentally. Knuckleheads do make me feel much better about myself anyway, if that's safe to say. Sad but true. Hey, the way I look at it is that we're all created equal....it's when we die that we're not so equal. And there's only one judge. I say live and let live as long as they don't try to kill you!

Now that's a good boy! Yeah those knuckleheads start to try to put their knuckles in your own head if ya let them after a while....It's good to live and learn, but better to grow up and know the difference. Now to get to hear him chat about being a professional musician for an hour would be worth more than money can buy....I woudn't have minded being a fly on the wall. I mean, can you imagine a Rock Star showing up at your highschool?? I would have to pity the fool! That's what dreams are made of! GO KID! WHOOOOOOOOOOEEWWWWW! YOUSA, YOUSA, YOUSA! Happiness is KID ROCK!

I had to laugh when I saw this.....we just had a discussion at our dinner table last night with our almost 13 year old son about hanging out with the wrong people and how sometimes you can be guilty by association, you know, the normal parent to child lecture stuff. I had him watch this video. You are not only an amazing entertainer but an all around good guy and I love you for it!!!!!

Such a nice video!!! Didja get chills being back in the halls? I remember visiting my old school, and everything looking smaller than I remembered... Romeo is a nice town. Not too small, not too big. Used to have to drive thru it to get to Lakeside mall b/4 the Van Dyke x-way was complete. Spent some time there in my younger years :) God Bless ya!

Yon never stop surprising me with the kind things you do for others ..That is why I am proud to say I am a ~KID ROCK~ fan and always will be. You truly have a big heart and stand up for what you believe in...I have had the priviledge of meeting you on several occassions and you have always been nothing but sweet and very friendly.. I loved the video and it made me smile and brought some water 2 the eyes the whole time..awesome ....wow..I can't imagine wat those kids were feeling..lol I know I wud have been just in awwwww...lol But I loved the advice u gave the kids about being true 2 themselves and surrounding themselves with all goodness...I am a firm believer in every word u said.It took me some time 2 get 2 this point in my life but the important thing is I am here and it is never 2 late as long as there is another day ahead 2 change something...I want 2 say TY 4 atleast making a difference in this cruel world 2 our children....xoxo

The kids, teachers and parents were so excited. Everyone is still talking about it today. Romeo has been waiting a long time for Kid to come back. We were hoping to see him at a basketball one day! Thanks Kid...this means a lot to all of us in Romeo!!

Way to go Kid Rock! FYI - I've been going by the name Romeo on Kid Rock websites for years! It's in honor of your hometown and High School dude. Even though I live in Northern Minnesota. haha. This was totally a great thing to do and just your presence at the High School will leave those kids memories to cherish for the rest of their lives. Good job Bob!
