Kid Rock wins big at the Detroit Music Awards

Although the awards are a way to honor local acts, most of whom never make it to the national stage, the final award of the night honored the artists who represent Detroit to the world.

Kid Rock's "Rock and Roll Jesus" won, against stiff competition from Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, The Stooges and The White Stripes, for Outstanding National Major Label Recording.

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart and Kid Rock met up in Detroit at the Michigan International Speedway to play a little poker.

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart and Detroit's own Kid Rock showed up at the Michigan International Speedway this past week to play a little poker at the Motor City Hotel & Casino in Detroit for part of the LifeLock 400 media day.
